So the end of the season has arrived . Quite a few not really happy on here . Well I for one think that to get a full season of speedway in the current situation speedway seems to be in is a winner in my book. Some teams have fallen out of the league, some have struggled to even fulfill their fixtures and some have said this will probs be their last season. Have we heard that at Berwick . No. Has the season gone well. Well if it’s results then no but the promotion stuck by the guys they signed before lockdown which is very admirable . And so they should have. You have seen young talent in abundance this season and the promotion are very forward thinking about bringing on the next generation of British riders. I fir one thank the promotion , riders , volunteers and of course the fans for speedway at Berwick and hope we have it next year. To spud enjoy your retirement you’ve been a fine servant to speedway over the years.- 134 replies

Was just saying the same to someone today. He certainly gives it 100% and never gives up. He is certainly an entertainer and would be a crowd favourite -

C’mon Dick….. if you want sensational ……. Announce Greg at number 8Hats off too the promotion for bringing Crump in as a guest. Should be a cracking meeting for Spuds Swansong. Here’s hoping the weather is good and there’s a bumper crowd to end the season. -

Decent meeting this evening. Both in fact. Some good racing. Leon was in top form. Scotty and Troy still got it. Bullets meeting was tip top. Great pass and win for mason tonight and as fir Greg Blair, tremendous to watch. Looking forward to Glasgow next week. If the rumours are true hope there’s a decent crowd for Spuds last meeting . -

A little suggestion. The reserves fir the meeting. Maybe the powers that be offer the two highest averages from the rising stars at the time of the final the reserve berths. Maybe this will give them a little something to strive towards and also give them some great big meeting experience -
BERWICK v PLYMOUTH (Saturday 14th -- 7pm)

Really decent entertainment. Out on the boards, using different lines and watching 2 legends of the sport all in 15 heats. What’s not too enjoy. Jye was on song after his bad smash , Leon is getting better and better at home each week and Kyle seems to have found his mojo in the last few weeks . To cap it off the second half was enjoyable. Theo’s boys look to have a real future . Well worth the admission fee in my opinion . The team seemed stronger in the new number line up. Gotta be a positive . -

If the ref couldn’t see wells fence kasper he needs to find a new job. Even the Glasgow fans at the 3rd bend thought it was a shocker . Thought the bandits fought well . Cook looked the part and to be fair wells was class until the incident. -

Here goes. Only one thing you can say about tonight. Outclassed on every level from start to finish. Outgated all night. That’s prob one of the best away performances you’ll see in a long time . Nice to see all the monarchs fans sticking around for the second half. If some of the main team had hung around they could have seen some other lines on the track by watching Greg Blair.that lad is pure entertainment. I’m sure there will be an inquest but that’s down to the manager . -

Speedway gb state that Matty wethers guesting for NBJ . Did very well fir Newcastle last week. -
If ht1 had gone the way everybody thinks it should have gone and Berwick hit the early 5 1 the end result would have been a 2 point win and an away point. Not had much luck this year with refs decisions and mechanical probs at the worst times in meetings. A lot having a pop at spud but everyone who watches speedway know that riders have a bad patch . He is still a good rider on his day and I’m sure a decent meeting will get him back in the groove. Looking forward to tonight. Hope Kasper has a good home debut and the promotion get a bumper crowd to watch it

BERWICK v NEWCASTLE (Saturday, July 3rd: 7pm)
Stuntdouble replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We can all be team managers onthe sidelines but at the end of the day the promotion stuck by the team that they announced last year which let the riders know that they at least had a team place fir this season. I’m the same as most people that want too see us at the top end of the league and if all the team had been firing on all cylinders I’m sure the team wouldn’t be far away. Form is everything I’m sure for the riders but there will always be bumps in the road. Jye has had a couple of big crashes already this year , NBJ had some mechanical issues away from home which could have changed some results if the engine hadn’t givin up. Danny is starting to put some decent scores away from home and Leon is having a superb season . Coty not being here causes issues but it’s nobody’s fault . A win is a win in my book . I’m just happy that we are getting too see meetings when some supporters aren’t . We just need to get behind the team and promotion. -

Leon’s had a lot more time on the bike than the others and it’s paying dividends. Tremendous tonight. Danny rode well . Got to give a mention to Matty wethers who showed he is still a class act around Berwick. Enjoyable meeting . Great job by the promotion . -

6400 at the rangers game when they were in the 3rd division. Regardless of what percentage if you want to go get a ticket early . It’s really as simple as that. Some folk on here should thank their lucky stars they have seen and looks like continuing to see speedway when home fixtures are run. Clubs are closing and stopping racing all the time. With the amount of work put in by all associated with Berwick speedway maybe some should stop being a keyboard warrior and back them -
Hope Leon does well this evening. Been in cracking form for Berwick.
