  1. Still can't make my mind up whether to come down for this one, on one side I should come down and support this patched up Diamonds side hopefully qualify for the Cup Semi's but the other half says f**k it, stay in the house and save your money!!! Decisions, Decisions!!!

    Newcastle 2016

I can't see us dropping Kus considering we spent a lot of money, t8ime and effort getting him over the winter. Seems madness to cast him aside. I have no axe to grind against Danny and I think he started the season in the challenges really well but he seems to have dropped off dramatically since then. I think he needs to score well in the match against Redcar tonight from a confidence point of view as well as a pleasing the supporter point of view. He seems to have lost the early confidence he had with regards our track and does not attack the bends as much as he used to. I hope he finds his confidence again and starts getting amongst the opposition as well as the points. I see Tero has tweeted he has come through his surgery and starts his recovery now. Will we have a space for him when he returns to fitness as Palovaara seems to be doing a great job, better than I expected. I agree with what a lot of people are saying in that it is annoying when you do not know if you are going to watch a full compliment of Diamonds riders or a team full of guests. I know we were made aware of this early on (or were aware of it) but that does not stop if from becoming both annoying and irritating. I personally want to watch Lambert, Rose, Worrall et al tear into the opposition week after week but it would appear that this is unlikely. I just hope that come the business end of the season and assuming we qualify for the play-offs (touch wood) we can go into those meeting with a full compliments of Diamonds riders.
  3. Will Theo still be riding as I understand he took a bit of a knock last night at Sheffield?
  4. I think I'll start my rain dance now.
  5. What was the score out of interest, I had to head off and could not stay?
  6. I just used BBC and put in Berwick. As long as it said it wasn't going to pi$$ it down was not that bothered. Should be a good one hopefully.
  7. Cheers, said 7pm the forecast I checked this morning.
  8. I'm please with those two guests, looking forward to this one. Don't get me wrong would rather have had Lambert and Kus but these two will do nicely, hope we can sneak a win. Bring on the win and then the Fish and Chips. Hoping the forecasted Fog does not ruin the meeting!!
  9. Can't decide whether to attend this one, weather looks shocking and looks to hit around start time and continue for the rest of the night, looks a wasted journey in my opinion but I'll make a late call. Hope it does go ahead mind you.
  10. I've heard he is Polish and goes by the name A N Otherski!! but keep it under your hat.
  11. Bit of both I think. Hansen was not as good as last time and I thought Wells seems a bit flat or down on power. Roynon started off shockingly bad and was miles off the pace but got a couple of good valuable second places at key points in the match to keep it interesting. Another good meeting between the sides. For the Diamonds, Steve was outstanding looking super fast out of the gate last night and Lambert gets better each weak, hand Wells not clamped him on the curb in one race I think he would have gone through the card unbeaten. Another good performance by Rose and the person who keeps surprising me, especially at home is Kus. I was expecting scores of 5 max most weeks and his riding and scoring above and beyond that, good to see. It will be interesting to see who Tero's replacement is for Sunday. Hopefully they will have sorted the PA system out as well be Sunday!!

Would not go for Rosen, after his showing on Sunday, I appreciate he was not riding his own equipment but did not look fast at all. Shame Compton does not fit. Sounds like promotion do not want to leave it too long as it puts to much pressure on the reserve, Rose in particular I think.

I see that Tero is out for the foreseeable future, such a shame, will this mean the return of Andre Compton after his showing on Sunday. http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.30328
  14. No need to apologise, I just know some people think that way. 😑 Congrats to Josh, gutted for Lambert. Still think winner should be top scorer after 20 heats, but hay ho.
  15. Is that a case of 'he's damned if he does and damned if he does not?' If he wins it people will say he should have won it anyone and if he does not he'll get slated??
  16. If he can get out of the starts I think you may be right, Fingers crossed!!
  17. Forgot about Garrity. Also I believe turnstiles open at 1:30pm and first race is 3:00pm. Prizes Raffle Christian Henry's wife as a grid girl I believe Rob Grant's Hog roast!!!. I hope he gets the weather for it, it's been pretty crap leading up to the meeting but I think the sun is supposed to come out on Sunday, would be nice as I'm sick of freezing my unmentionables off on the terraces!! What are the usual admission prices at Brough, I don't pay as I usually get in through a hole in the fence!!!
  18. Not on facebook and have no intention of every going on it. (but that's just me!!!) I believe it is a 4 team event with (Newcastle, Edinburgh, Kings Lynn and Glasgow represented). Havelock, Screen and Loram as team managers plus another I guess, Christian or George??? (might be wrong on this!!!) - is Christian even riding in his own testimonial???? Admission if £16 but not sure if this is a flat rate for all, more info would be helpful i.e. are kids free or cheaper, concessions etc. Riders are I believe: Robbie Kessler Peter Carr Anton Rosen Brent Werner Stuart Robson Daniel Nermark Joe Screen Mark Lemon Ross Brady Steve Worrall Derek Sneddon Rene Bach Kevin Little Jonas Jensen Andre Compton Robert Eriksson Richard Juul Ludvig Lindgen James Grieves Lewis Kerr Ricky Wells Bradley Wilson Dean Erik Riss Kevin Wolbert Lee Payne George Stancl Will Lawson Paul Starke Jonny Swales Please feel free to correct me if I am incorrect on any of the above.
  19. Berwick certainly were good value for money and had Alden and Jorgensen not be blowing hot and cold you may have pushed us harder, but I must admit I was a bit nervous for the first half of the meeting when I thought you had the measure of us. It was another good match between the two teams as per usual and I look forward to the visit of the Bandits later in the season.
  20. Hopefully both team's websites will be updated shortly. Is the fixture change due to the U21 at Sheffield, no Lambert or Phillips?
  21. Don't know, we got presented with Tyne Tees trophy after the meeting at Brough I believe so who knows, well I think it was a trophy Nick Brown had in his hand or was he just enjoying the show!! . I think the fixture on the 14th was the League Cup, I wouldn't have thought you would have thrown the towel in on that one just yet?
  22. Did I hear correctly after the Redcar match that we are no longer at the STMP on the 14 April 2016?
  23. Another great display by the Diamonds last night against a poor Redcar team. All riders contributed but I thought Worrall was outstanding and it was good to see Kus get 3 race wins, when he gates his is pretty quick, however when stuck in traffic he seems to not race as hard (what I like to call the William Lawson syndrome). Lewis Rose for me has been outstanding so far this season, he appears to have really stepped it up this year and I hope it continues and I think he will be looking for a that No. 2 jacket before long and possibly/maybe get into the main body of the team if he continues. Great to see Rose trying to team ride Phillips home last night, a little bit of in experience on Phillips part meant Rose had to give up half way through and go for the win, but great to see. I have been really impressed with Danny Phillips, I was a bit unsure when we signed him but he has taken to the track and gets better every week and he performance at the STMP was great to watch.

    Newcastle 2016

Good P & P today, Lambert looking quick and impressed by Philips and Kus, both really attacking the track and getting some good laps in as was Rose. Could be an interesting season. Kenneth Hanson looked very quick for Worky.
