British Final And Semi Finals
diamond@heart replied to gypilgrim's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
According to BSPA, Hurry and Grieves have pulled out, with Mills and Bowen replacing them. I thought Derek Sneddon was a reserve for the Kings Lyns Semi final, or did I just make that up or dream it? SICKNESS and injury have forced Paul Hurry and James Grieves to withdraw from the British Semi-Final being staged at King’s Lynn tomorrow night. Luke Bowen and Chris Mills have been drafted in to replace them. REVISED LINE-UP (King’s Lynn, Wednesday, May 12): Lee Richardson (Unattached), Chris Harris (Coventry), Simon Stead (Swindon), Lewis Bridger (Peterborough), Chris Mills (Bournemouth), Paul Clews (Berwick), Leigh Lanham (Newport and Belle Vue), Adam Roynon (Workington), Chris Schramm (Workington), Joe Haines (King’s Lynn and Wolverhampton), Ben Wilson (Redcar), Luke Bowen (Rye House), Chris Neath (Rye House), Jason King (Newcastle), Carl Wilkinson (Scunthorpe), Eddie Kennett (Coventry). The top eight will qualify for the British Final at Wolverhampton on Monday, June 14. -

Andersen Crash In Sweden.
diamond@heart replied to From PC to KC.'s topic in International World of Speedway
I agree that Emil is a great talent but I think he needs to think a little bit more about his racing and actions after incidents. I do not think this is the last You Tube clip we will see of Emil on here and I feel he may cause someone a serious injury with the way he is riding. I think he can dish it out but often appears childish in his actions in that the toys come out of the pram when someone gives him a taste of his own medicine or when a incident is just a pure racing incident he seems to forget that. -
Did anyone buy £40 tickets and if so how much did you get them for (might sound a stupid question I know)

If you book tickets over the phone make sure you get an email confirmation, that way you get to know about hotels. -
Can't really do that if you buy on the phone, what hotel are they suggesting?

Brits In The Gp 2009
diamond@heart replied to shoy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Can't see Nicholls doing much this year, he does not seem to be able to cope with the pressure that the top riders can and the GP puts on riders. He has been in speedway along time now and in the GP's a long time now and has not moved forward in my opinion, he is fine on his own patch in the EL, but take him out of his own back yard and his is frankly rubbishe. My main problem with Nicholls is I think he thinks he is better than he actually is. British GP 2008 was the worst for me, he had an ideal chance to win it or get on the podium and he choked big style. Also in the Gp's, when he is passed by one rider, you usually find that within a lap he has gone to the back of the field and just cannot come from the back, the best race I have seen him in was the one he had with Dryml last year (the one with handbags), but the determination and willingness to win from Nicholls are hard to find and you have to wait a long while before those moments come around. I prefer Harris, I think last year was a bit of a disaster for him but hopefully he can rebuild himself and improve again this year. I hope Nicholls and Harris prove me and a number of people on here wrong but my head tells me we will be have this discussion this time next year. -

2009 Sgp- Who Will Win?
diamond@heart replied to Wildcat's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Would like to see Nicki win it again and if he does it will still not shut the boo boys up. I think Crump and Andersen will mount a stronger challenge in 09. Nicholls has to perform better this year as if he does not he has to consider the fact that he is simply not good enough. Would like to have a British rider to cheer on but am I asking for too much. -
Individual - Newcastle
diamond@heart replied to NJC71's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I think he would be a good signing for the Diamonds and we may be able to help each other out. A year in the PL for Howe might get his career back on track and he might help the Diamonds get back at the top of the league. I have also heard Morten Risager name mentioned as well -

THis was a poor lineup to finish a poor season and in my opinion a poor way to finish the season. Very few good races tonight and the poor weather caused its problems as well. Crowd was low but that may have been down to fans not knowing what the lineup was. Still got to see some speedway even if I did freeze my a**e off, roll on 2009. Just got the Silver Helmet left to go too. -

Scott Nicholls
diamond@heart replied to schumi's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Totally agree, I don't think Nicholls adds anytbhing to the GP, he has enough chances to prove he can cut it in the GP and has yet to do it. I think this should have been his last chance and if he should be in the GP let him go through the correct route like most riders have too. I would give his place to Holder, it might be too early for Tai but you never know he may rise to the ocassion. I go to Cardiff each year, I like to see the Brits do well but I am often cheering for somene else who I feel has a real chance. -
Congratulations Nicki

Congrats to Nicki on your 3rd World Title won in style proving your the best in the world. Heres hoping for No. 4 in 2009. Sad to see some people on here cannot admit when they are wrong and still have to have a go at Nicki. -

Newcastle Individual Meeting
diamond@heart replied to BossMan's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Another great performance by Kenni who appears to get better week by week (when he is not riding like a women ). Very impressed by John Branney and I think he would make a god addition to the Diamonds next year. Good to see Craig Branney back on a bike and he rode well and did well to pick himself up from his fall. Format of this meeting annoyed me and think it should have been 16 riders and then this would have meant that some riders did not have to face each other 3 times (Proctor and Larsen, Hart and Sanchez). Hopefully the next individual will have a better lineup and a better format. Still a good meeting nd as mentioned another good performance by Larsen (Get him signed for next year) and another good performance by Proctor. Don't think Pepe and Christian have do enough to hold onto team places for next year? -

Have to say bit disappointed by lineup so far but will still be there to cheer on Jason King, always enjoy this meeting as the Bears usually put on a good show.
