Can it be three meeting on the same night?

If it is for Premiership riders, would be a problem. Most individuals have 16 riders, so 3 meetings would need 48 riders. Premiership has 6 teams with 7 riders, so would be 6 riders short, even if no riders injures.

Noticed some amendments to the original fixture list, and not just matches prior to 17th May. Still no inclusion of dates for individuals. Starting to look more like it is cancelled.

  2. If anyone has noted the Tigers fixtures in their diaries, from the original fixture list, please re-check the fixtures as there have been some changes.

I do wish the management would put an announcement notice on their website/facebook pages when they do this. If fans have made any arrangements, they can start thinking about alternatives.

Would also be nice if an explanation for the changes was given. I understand the need for any fixtures prior to 17th May, but not the others.

  3. Just had a quick look at fixtures. As far as see, there are 9 blank dates, either Monday or Thursday, between season starting and Play offs commencing. Taking in to account some fixtures, which were scheduled before 17th May, have yet to be re-arranged, one off the free dates is the Thursday before the GB GP, and the possibility of rain offs, does leave some questions, about if it is going ahead, and indeed, at what level of rider it is aimed at.

  4. Anyone heard anything about when Eurosport will announce which matches it will show? I am also wondering if fixtures will get changed to suit their schedule. Previously Monday was the favoured day, but that was to suit Sky/BT schedules. Will they be showing the play off semis as double headers, as in previous years? Information, or inspired guesses will be appreciated. Thanks

The only benefit i can see of an app would be to remove the need for a physical program. A scorecard with the actual riders and updated meeting scores and actual times so that nobody has to rely on shoddy PA systems. They would get around any cancellation and reprints plus the dreaded insert. Obviously there are plenty who still enjoy the physical program but in a green sustainable world e-programs feel like the future.

Forgive my technical ignorance, but what is the advantage of using an app, as opposed to just accessing a website?

  6. Hi just been told by a BT staff member that, sometime in the future, Eurosport will no longer be available as part of BT or Sky packages (not sure about Virgin Media}. Is there anyone who can confirm, or deny this, or give any more information on this. I am wondering if it will be available independently in the same way as Premier sports. Any info appreciated. Thanks

Wouldn't it be great for the sport if Sky or BT showed old GPs? It would cost the channels very little to show it (presumably little in the way of ongoing fees to the sport) and might just attract the odd new fan as we're all locked at home watching stuff that we never would have bothered with in the past.

BT showing some of last year's GP's later this week.

something tells me they will not donate money to the NHS .  roll on feb2021 when my contract finishes .  why could they not send everyone an email instead of ruining it for the future of bt . scummy blags .

If they didn't and got found out could cost them a fortune in lost customers. If you want to be certain, the money goes to the correct cause, just request a refund and give the money personally.

anyone had any scam callers while the lockdown has been in operation ?

Likely they will step up their efforts, as they often, try to use the fear factor. I have my own way of dealing with them, as follows:

Upon realising a call is a scam, I remain calm, and pretend to be in need, of, and grateful for their help. I then say I need a few seconds, to do something, quick, but urgent (turn the bath taps off, turn chip pan off). I then put, phone down, do not end call, and waste their time, while they are waiting for me to return (which I will not do).

I once got some scammer calling me back, about 4 times, thinking he had conned me, before he realised, I was conning him.

  10. Been trying to think of a few ideas which could help British Speedway, in view of problems it had before and after the current Corona situation. Here is what I thought of.

Getting to matches.  Not all fans have access to vehicles. How about a new section in the forum, of lifts to matches. A new topic could be started about any match, and a poster could request,or offer, a lift from "area where they live" to relevant track. Poster to be PM by any interested party.

Rider sponsors.  To assist riders getting sponsors, or persuading them to part with a few extra £££'s, start the pre match presentation a few minutes earlier, and announce each rider's main sponsor and their business.

Next season. If the two top leagues merge, how about a series, of say 5 matches, between, Team GB North, and Team GB South. All British riders, contracted to the teams, which are in the Northern half of the League being eligible, for selection for Team GB North, same for South. Decent standard of match, and appeal to the North, South rivalry.

If merger does not happen, how about the cup competition, being open, between the two leagues, with the lower league team, being allowed, say, 5 tactical rides (each leg), any rider, any race.

Play Offs.  Unpopular, with some, who feel top of league are champions, popular with those, who like end of season drama. As a way of rewarding the higher placed team, why not add the amount of league points, the higher team scored, over and and above their opponents, to their aggregate score.Would make it harder for  team to be champions, by peaking at right time.

Meet and Greet. Offer, this sort of experience for those interested, and prepared to pay a little extra for it. Alternatively, offer chance to watch a few races from centre green, for a small charge.

Like to hear other opinions on this, or any other ideas out there.

Speedway fixtures are never set in stone so I would expect there to be a few Monday’s for us for tv purposes

Don't think they are even set in jelly nowadays. I can accept rain offs, but some of the other reasons are getting ridiculous.
