I think he is too busy learning to ride his keyboard!

Just done a bit of checking on Woolley and Phillips , last 10 home meetings for them both Woolley scored 14 +8 bonus points,  Phillips scored 28 +9 bonus points , obviously your all experts on speedway then if you would prefer Woolley over Phillips  ,

    Averages 3 to 5 a meeting yet has a 2.23 average hmmm...

The problem with Danny is he's been stuck at the same level for 4 years. No improvement in him. I'd rather go with a younger reserve and watch them grow

Sorry I was 0.77 out , I just looked through his last few home meetings for Newcastle and apart from the 2 against the Bears he didn't do to bad , but even a chimpanzee on a bike with stabilisers is better than Woolley

If it's right that redcar have signed Danny Phillips and that's a big IF, do the fans think he is better than Tom woolley ???????

Yes he is , Tom Woolley might be a nice bloke but he is a poor championship rider , Phillips apart from the odd poor meeting scores 3 to 5 points on average per meeting it doesn't take much to be better than Woolley

I disagree. If he gets in the way of an opposition heat leader, allowing our heat leader to win then that's a 2 point swing. He was never signed to score big points.

Even some of Greaves heat 2 wins have been helped by Tom popping out the gate and slowing the opposition down.

While I accept you've got a valid opinion,  I just think we could have found a reserve who had some scope for more improvement,  would you be happy to have the same top 6 next season and keep Woolley or would you rather we found another reserve with a bit more promise,  haven't looked at the averages to see if that's possible by the way it's just a hypothetical question?

Jack Smith didn't want to ride for Redcar. He also didn't make a good team player which is what has drawn this team together since the changes.

As for Tom, I think he's done more than was ever expected. Bringing in an NL rider of 6pt average who hadnt ridden that year was never to score points. Yet he constantly pops out in heat 2 and gets his paid win.

For me, points aren't everything from reserve. He's been leading top riders like Proctor and Kennett which has allowed our heat leader to clear off for the win.

He's had 2 paid wins in 19 meetings in the 2nd heat and 1 second place with Greaves in 3rd , and points are everything, doesn't matter what riders he's leading it's where he's finishing after 4 laps is the problem

I said this season but like you said 12 point lead and still didn't win it , you know and I know that we've got better riders than you , and you can be as optimistic as you want you ain't going to overturn a 12 point deficit against us , you might win but the cups coming to Teeside

That's a good motivational speech,  as I think I can remember that, Newcastle United once had a 12 point lead and it just dwindled away,,, just shows that it can happen :t:

    Someone like Jack Smith.

I think Smiths average was to high when we brought Riss in , might be wrong but I think we only had 2.0 points to play with so we were never going to get a world beater but there must have been riders out there who had a bit more potential than Woolley

  10. Just done some checking on Tom Woolley and scores he's had compared to rides and this is no disrespect to the bloke but I think we can all see that he hasnt come on as well as he maybe should have done , can't see him being here next season and think we need to look at bringing in a young rider who has potential to improve  , Toms stats show where we have been suffering which has put a lot of pressure on Greaves , he's had 19 meetings taking 62 rides and scored 17 points with 8bp, I think that's the difference between a good side and being a top side , no disrespect to him and I wish him well but we need someone who has the scope for improvement

Can a side in the play offs use a guest which has been used previously by another side in the play offs ?

Why not ? Leicester were going to use Lawson until the meeting was rained off then his average was to high to be used for the rearranged fixture but it worked out we could use him , funny rules I agree , could anyone image not using guests for injured riders speedway would die a death , it would be the team who had the least injuries who would win the league every year

I really hope that the meeting goes ahead t'morro and the bad weather doesn't materialise for 2 reasons,

1, so that I can enjoy a Mexican takeaway and,

2, i think it's our best chance to overturn the deficit, especially after tonight's result, when the Bears are under pressure, just from a purely motivational point of view, of course.

Having Adam Ellis is a big plus for us and the fact we've gone out tonight spells bad news for Newcastle,  the boys won't be complacent tomorrow and I personally can't see the Diamonds winning by more than 4 points that's if they win at all ,I think we will win at Brough park tomorrow,  let's hope we get it on and have a good meeting UTB

I said to some friends, when Redcar had made their changes, that they looked like the team. Unfortunately, injuries struck and that, to me has cost the Bears severely.

Yeah we've had a great season , play offs,  cup final ,British champion and Championship riders champion , let's finish it off tomorrow with the cup , I hope it's a good meeting and no offence mate but I don't want any scares

people need to grow up - any sane person knows its an uphill battle at Leicester but plans have to be ready just in case.

Just keep them to yourself until the result is known , see pointless releasing the final dates now isn't it , point made
