  1. For anyone trying to book tickets for the Leicester meeting on Sunday please follow this link

     http://Www.trybooking.co.uk/BCCY

We are in the process of trying to upload the try booking software to our actual website but it's proving quite technically difficult.

Apologies to all if you haven't had access to fb or twitter to find out the link.

Hope this helps for those who are trying to book

Rumours that Mr.Grant has informed the track staff including Jonathan Swales that there services are no longer required at Newcastle and the tractors have been sold. If true then I wonder who’s taking over the role and why sell the equipment ? Cost cutting or a new signing imminent?

Personally I think Swales did an unbelievably good job considering all the obstacles in the way at Brough . It’s hardly an ideal shape track to work on , little if any drainage and the time constraints are ridiculous .I’m sure his services would be wanted at Redcar in some capacity, where he has family connections,  if he can fit Friday nights in with his full time work. He is a talented, young track curator and there’s precious few of those around.

Lets hope we have an outstanding replacement lined up and a new tractor or two!

In connection with the above post, I have been asked to address it on behalf of Rob.

Rob does read this forum but doesn't have an account to comment or reply to any questions directly, but as I'm sure everyone knows by now, he definitley doesn't have anything to hide and will make everything known to fans and anyone else for that matter who takes an interest.

In his last direct public statement he obviously touched upon the financial issues that Newcastle found itself in this year. Bearing this in mind, the financial situation going in to 2021 is still being closely monitored and we are having to be extra careful with the pot of money we do have.

Rob has spoken to Jonny Swales earlier this week, where the outcome of the conversation was to release Jonny from his duties at Newcastle. This was not done under any negative pretences and no hard feelings were taken from this conversation on either side. It was merely a cost cutting exercise as Jonny was in a paid position and Newcastle must save money wherever it can this year in order to carry on for the years ahead. Jonny had already secured the track work at Redcar for next season and is happy with that.

In regards to the rest of the staffing. No other track staff have been relieved of their duties, this includes Robbie and Moxy and all sheeters remain the same. The track itself will be done by Dave Tattum, Darren Hartley and Robs family as they all come from a farming background so are very capable and also legal to drive the tractors (which still remain at Brough by the way).

And just to put any more rumours to rest here is a list of Newcastle's staffing as we head in to 2021:

    Lawrence heppell - press officer

    Barry Wallace - Announcer

Andrew Dalby - Centre green presenter

    Terry Bolam - Pits Marshall

Brian Mcbean - Clerk of the course

Mark Brown/Alan Murray - Track electricians

Rachel Robley & Angela Tinning - Hospitality

Adam Tinning  -Time keeping and incident recorder.

Stewart Townsley - Environmental officer and asst clerk of course.

    Phil Day/Alan Roberts/Don Dorey - Start marshalls

    Sarah Bulman - Medical Co-ordinator

    Medics - Rapid Response

    Rachel Robley - Commercial manager

    Tony Kearman - Marketing

    Steve Brock/Kevin Oliver/Taz McDougall - photography

    Lee Coates/Lloyd Tattum/Mark Brown/Steve Pate - Asst Track maintenance

Track Stewards this year will be provided by The Protector Group. The programmes are going to be printed by Ponteland Print and Grants events Catering will obviously be the caterers at the stadium, as well as putting staff on turnstiles and in the track shop.

And let's not forget Rob himself.... Unlike previous management he is definitley not scared of getting his hands dirty and he will be there from the crack of dawn providing help with the track and fence and anything else that needs his attention.

Rob has everything well in hand and would never get rid of staff without having a replacement in place.

I hope this answers a few of the staffing rumours flying around right now.

    Happy New year everyone!

  3. Just to put to rest some of the questions being asked right now.

In regards to the question of the forming of a new company when Rob took over from the previous promotion. As we all know the takeover happened in the twelfth hour, and it was looking highly likely that maybe our club could not be saved. Bearing this in mind, the BSPA had ruled a strict cut off date of a successful take over being sorted, if this was not met than a takeover would not have been allowed.

Back when the takeover was just about to be completed, a couple of people had cottoned on to the impending news through the Companies House website, mainly noticing that a new company had been formed, namely NEWCASTLE DIAMONDS LTD, with Rob being sole director of this company.

Additionally, when Rob took control of the diamonds, NEWSPEED2003 were on the last year of a 3 year lease between the speedway and the stadium, so because of this Rob had to once again run under the current company name and was not able to trade under the new limited company he had formed at the time of the take over.

In regard to subject that has arisen about the bonds. Rob is currently dealing with the liquidators aswell the BSPL to come to an arrangement where it is looking potentially possible that Rob will have to financially secure all appropriate monies within the governing body.

Anyone got any ideas what's happening with the website?

    Hi Neil,

The website is currently under construction for improvements. We should have it back up and running in the very near future

It has been said elsewhere that most supporters of speedway, in this country, are of the older generation.

We are not disputing this fact, but what we are trying to do is change it. And without change and introducing a younger demographic to the sport, I think we can all agree that speedway in this country is on borrowed time.

And considering we now have over 1500 followers on our facebook group, I think it's safe to say that when we put a post out, it is actually reaching quite a lot of people.

Hahahaha LMFAO The Newcastle Speedway Supporters Group have posted on their Facebook group within the last hour the latest sites they have looked at which include Seaton Burn Gateshead and Wylam to name but a few...

Steve Park may be able to set up a link...

Wonder if they got my email today with my suggested sites on?

    Regards

    THJ

Oh... and there was a one on yesterday  apparently asking "how far would you travel to watch Speedway" FFS why does the Supporters Group assume everyone has Facebook....

Well I used to go to to all of the away meetings when I could so as long as it's not the moon (Or Sunderland) am in... and I reckon Tsunami, Ruff, Terrace Grumbler, ArsonFire, Pienpeesman and anyone else with a car would say the same...

    Regards

    THJ

    Good evening THJ,

We here at the Supporters Group would just like to assure you that we are totally aware that not everybody has access to Facebook, and we are also especially aware that our older generation of supporters will most likely not see any posts put on Facebook by ourselves or anyone else in management.

This being said, however, Facebook still remains the quickest and easiest way to gain the opinions and thoughts of a majority number of supporters. This then helps us make decisions as a club, who have listened to what our supporters are thinking.

Surely this can only be a good thing, yes?

So while we are pleased that you are "still laughing now", if you could try and refrain from insinuating negativity in to our hard work and efforts to incorporate our supporters opinions, that would be very much appreciated.

    Many thanks.

    P. S we are yet to receive the email you previously mention in this thread this evening. Rest assured though, every effort will be made to access it at our earliest convenience.

    Regards,

    NSSG

Dunno, but maybe the e-mail address has changed with it being a new site?

Seen something similar on another thread.

The email address to request any information regarding refunds on season tickets or any other information regarding tickets etc is

    Info@newcastle-speedway.co.uk

This email address has been given out numerous times on press releases by the club and nobody should have any issues in contacting any of the promotion/management as we are all readily available to speak to.

It would be appreciated if third parties would not try to relay false information or information that hasn't been confirmed officially by the club as this just causes unnecessary histeria and headaches that are not needed at this difficult time.

  8. Good afternoon to all.

The promotion at Newcastle would like to make a statement through the Supporters group in regard to the current rumours and to hopefully help people stop worrying about our situation at Brough.

Due to the covid 19 pandemic and for the benefit of greyhound racing at Newcastle there had been talk of staging greyhound racing on a Sunday and live streaming into bookies. This had been talked about for a bit and would of been more then just for a short term period, moving us onto the only other day available at the stadium, a Monday.

Thankfully the greyhounds have opted out of Sunday racing and have decided on taking their extra meeting mid week now. This was advised to us yesterday, Saturday.

One issue we do have at the moment is with exception of a handful of track staff and a racing manager, all office and grandstand staff are furloughed till later in the year and the main grandstand areas are all locked down, which for speedway are very much needed to operate.

We have put a proposal to the stadium in regard to the grandstand and are waiting for a reply.

We will update you all as soon as we can.

    Many thanks.
