  1. Scunthorpe don't stand a chance, I think they will win narrowly at home but when they get on that unfair track at Leicester it will be curtains. The PC Arena is crap it's just gate and go to the first bend then follow the leader because the track curator makes sure that overtaking is impossible by only grading the inside line.........Boring

I really am over the moon with this great news
  4. I think it's a measure of how far the Bears have come in recent years that we are even having this discussion. The Holy Trinity (Ben, Jade and Jamie) have brought us to this point with their knowledge, hard work and enthusiasm and I am a touch sad that they are going to be broken up. We need that semi final spot so go on lads do it for Ben!!

Somebody amongst the Diamond's fan base must now the directors of Greg's . The money required will be a drop in the ocean to them and what a great way to pay homage to the people of their home city.
  7. I know, I was only joking though I am hoping for a win, will be happy with a point but am expecting a defeat
  8. I thought is was the stadium staff affected why weren't they told to stay at home... job sorted.

    Newcastle Diamonds 2021

It's quite simple really, how can the Diamond's compete with Redcar for example? Multiple revinue streams and comparatively low overheads vs low revinue streams and high rent. The dog track tenant clubs are those struggling most because to pay the extortionate rents the budget for riders is compromised which means they can only sign lower calibre riders that in turn affects the results which is reflected in attendances. It's no fun winning the wooden spoon!
  10. Bears all the way, Poole chickened out on the scheduled date but there's no where to hide now Pirates!! I have heard Charles Wright is taking his XL Kevlars so as he can put Danny King is his pocket

    Redcar Vs Leicester 10/09

Oh dear 4038, I fear you may need a trip to Spec savers, you obviously didn't read my post correctly. I don't recall making disparaging remarks about the quality of the track preparation or the racing. I was merely pointing out that it appears that it is prepared without the Input of the home riders. I made my assumption due to the fact that unlike you my eyes do not deceive me as I saw members of the team pointing out to Jonathan Swales from the pit wall where they wanted the track altered throughout the meeting. I was pointing out that it would be a good idea to have the track to their liking before racing commenced and not during the proceedings. As for a home track advantage, I think it's rather essential when almost every other team enjoy it especially Leicester who only grade the inside line and they were the opposition after all. Finally let's discuss Newcastle and their home advantage.... did Jonathan Swales ever curate their track?, I don't know, you tell me

    Redcar Vs Leicester 10/09

Redcar really do need to sort the track out before heat one, it is so obvious to home supporters that the track preparation is affecting the teams performances, it's akin to scoring own goal every match. Right now the home advantage is virtually non existent and even Jake Allen took to the centre green last night to have a dig about it. I think Jamie Swales prepares a great looking racing surface but I wonder if the team have any input beforehand, last night we were treated a wonder wheel extravaganza throughout the meeting that eventually altered the racing line just in time to salvation point

    Newcastle Diamonds 2021

Wouldn't it be great if Rob Grant and Roy Clarke could set their differences aside so as Roy can make the last meeting as center green announcer, who knows it could set in motion a reunification of the Diamond's fan base that will be essential if saviour comes along. Also what about the Discovery channel or Amazon Prime? Can you imagine the likes of Ant and Dec joining forces with one one them to create a reality TV show in the same way the former Man U players did with Salford FC? What greatness could the whole sport achieve
  15. I am not a Diamond's fan I support Redcar and I have loved the banter between the rwo sets of supporters over thee years. I would like to know who THJ is because he knows an awful lot about what's happening at Newcastle and along of his predictions come true so he is obviously a very smart guy and close confidant of the current promotion. THJ, I have couple of questions for you 1) Why did Rob Grant tear the club apart at the seams and alienate a huge section of the fan base by dispensing with the services or forcing the resignation of key figures at the club? For example 'RC' who brought so much to the show and still does at Redcar 2) Does Rob Grant's van stand anywhere else? Those burgers are bloody lovely
  16. Don't forget your man Grobauer ended Jordan Stewarts season because he was out of control due an inadequate track prepared by a man who was not licensed to prepare it the riders had every reason to refuse to ride a dangerous track because past experience showed them the Birmingham promotion gave scant regaurd for their safety
  17. I was at Birmingham last night and it's obvious what's wrong, they are tenants on a dog track and the promotion has negotiated a ridiculous deal. My son bought 2 pints of lager and a packet of crisps (I know, I know) and it cost £10.50 with all of the proceeds going to the track the food prices are also ridiculous £5,50 for pie and mash or balti and rice with all the proceeds going to the track and they don't even sell chips. The speedway promotion is losing out massively on income streams that clubs like Redcar and Scunthorpe enjoy and as such they start each and every season with a financial disadvantage compared to their competitors. I know Redcar were the perpetual holders of the wooden spoon but since Ben and Co took the reigns the clubs fortunes have been turned around and I honestly believe every Bears fan owes them a debt of gratitude. The club now enjoys multiple revinue streams with sponsors galore and have just launched Bears TV to add another and none of these benefits can be enjoyed by tenants held to ransome by stadium owners who fail to understand that speedway is a working class sport and fans at successful clubs can get admission, parking a programme a 50/50 ticket curry and chips and a can of pop for £25 and the clubs take all the profits
  18. I don't know her name but she also had a trainee ref who accompanied her during her track inspection so she must be experienced enough to train future refs

    Mr Garrity

If he is guilty and punished then that should be the end of it, we have to have a society where people who make a mistake can be given a second chance. I Hope to see him at the tapes again because without speedway the lad will have nothing to focus his energy, what he has allegedly done saddens me but so do the people who are too quick to judge
  20. Stuart must have been a very popular rider amongst his peers the star studded line up for his farewell meeting on 21st March is very impressive
