What about all the bad luck Crumpy had at Cardiff last year then Shovlar - doesn't he deserve some good luck for once? You really are a poor loser, which makes tonight's result all the sweeter. -

Always thought you were a nasty vindictive individual shovlar, and tonight you've proved it. Bonjour. -

Someone who can't even spell the name of his own nation. Are you related to Greg? -
An Open Letter To The Riders At The Elrc
Liesdale replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Well he would say that wouldn't he. Yes the Cowley track on Friday was far worse that the track at Poole today, but it was a long way from raceable - but that's another story. -
Elite League Riders Championship
Liesdale replied to Yorkshire Ace's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Well British Speedway shoots itself in the foot once again - how on earth did that get rained off tonight? I've long felt that British meetings fall victim to the weather far too easily, and now we've seen it with our own eyes live on TV. What a week of farce we've had: First of all the rubbish we had to sit through on Tuesday night at Swindon, then that death trap of a track served up at Oxford on Friday, then this joke of a rain off tonight at Poole. -
To be honest, who bl**dy cares? Excellent magazine BTW.

I think they could hold the after meeting reception in a telephone box. -

Reading Host World Cup?
Liesdale replied to Rema & Ben's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Actually I can't argue with any of that Chris. I admit it's great for the Reading supporters, but for the sport of speedway it's a massive step back on all of what BSI have been preaching the past few years. -
2006 World Championship

ZAGAR SIXTH?????? You've obviously let PL speedway cloud your judgement the past few years. Most of the field will blow Zagar away with their speed from the gate alone. -

Arena Essex would be my choice. Such a perfect shaped track for a meeting of this magnitude.

Hans Andersen Statement
Liesdale replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Surely even a biased Oxford fan like yourself Rob, must admit that Andersen should have got in ahead of Iversen. Even as a Reading fan I'm honest enough to admit that Andersen should have got in ahead of Zagar. I'm no fan of Hans Andersen, but he has definately got a rough deal from this. -
Zagar To The Gp 2006!
Liesdale replied to DavidH's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Must admit it's crazy to see a rider like Zagar getting in ahead of Hans Andersen. The GPs need to have some sort of proper qualification. -
Not so sure he does ahead of some of those left out.
-
LOL.

I meant all the leagues combined, not just one set of league averages.

Cardiff is the biggest event on the GP calendar - they have to sell some tickets. You may not like it, but those are the facts. Regardless of that, it you fill the line-up with Slovenians and Czechs in preference to superior British riders, then the GP series will be poorer for it. Our two Brits may have missed out on the top eight, but they've hardly been failures - they are both still within the top 16 riders in the world on all tracks around the world. That's good enough for me.
-
To all those people who think Lee Richardson doesn't deserve to be in the GP's. WHO WOULD YOU REPLACE HIM WITH? Loram - had his best days. Stead - Not good enough Harris - Not good enough. That's about it for British riders. I do think there should be some sort of qualifying rounds to get in if you miss out on the top eight, but under the current rules then Nicholls and Richardson have to be in.

Andy You've been watching far too much PL speedway the past few years - I don't think you realise how good and fast the EL guys really are. I'm one of those that thinks Zagar will struggle in the EL next season (and there are many others). His gating is poor in the PL, so how that will translate to EL racing is anyone's guess. He won't get the chance to blast around the outside of the EL and GP guys like he does at Smallmead each and every Monday. No doubting that Zagar is an imense talent, but until his gating improves he'll be an GP also ran. Lee Richardson is one of the fastest starters in the world - and whether that makes him a 'gating tart' as some like to describe it, he will always return a big average and will be well placed in the GP standings with that weapon in his armoury. He would have finished higher in the GP standings if he hadn't had all those problems at the start of the season, e.g. tuner falling ill etc. I still fancy Lee to win a GP before Scott Nicholls does.

Do you really think Zagar, Kolodziej, Stead are BETTER than Richardson? You really don't have a clue do you?
-
Strange signing - think Stone would be far better off trying to find a replacement for the absent Michael Coles.
