Ipswich v Birmingham 16th May
ArchiePelago replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What motivates people to always complain about call-offs? They all seem to be experts on track preparation (maybe they saw a video on youtube?). This time Chris Louis is wrong because he called off too early, last time he called off too late. Social media has a lot to answer for. It gives a platform for people sitting on their backsides to whinge about what is done by people that actually do things! -
Witches v Lynn May 6th 2.15pm

"In this instance one third of the admission should be refunded.. If a waiter took your 25 quid meal off you, two thirds in, and said "we are closing early" you wouldn't be too impressed would you?" What a totally unrealistic view. What other sport charges by the minute/hour? The majority of costs for putting on a sporting event are incurred whether it lasts 30 minutes or 3 hours. I suspect that the favourite sport of the moaners on here is trolling. -

The usual folk complaining about what they wouldn't have done. Sadly, these are usually those who never 'DO' themselves. One day they will fall out of their armchair still clutching their social media link to the world. -

I remember being at Romford for JL's first race at that track. The track boundary was a brick wall with hundreds of coats of paint 'to soften the blows'. On his first race there, JL was out of the gate and brushing the wall all the way round. I loved watching him practice, at Ipswich, before he got into the team. He would go flat out and go through the fence, then slightly slower and still through the fence, then a bit slower and got round safely. That's how he worked out the fastest line without coming off. Incredible to watch and, as others have said, a gentleman off the track. -

Who pays for them? Where will they be stored? Can they be fixed to an air fence? etc. Easy to say but not easy to do or fund. -

It may be concussion...or not. As you say..."but nobody has said that officially". All will be clear when somebody does 'say that officially". -

Sheffield v Ipswich May 18th - Reinstated?

Anyone watching the match could see that Peterborough were time wasting quite a lot. No more than other teams do but obviously 2 - 3 minutes extra was right for the time wasting. -

What a really negative post from someone who has probably never organised a public event. The two teams will have to consider the safety of riders and the paying public, the distance that supporters and riders will need to travel and how reliable the weather forecast is. At 11am it is IMPOSSIBLE to say if it's on or not unless you postpone everything that has any doubt surrounding it. I suspect that it will called off around 2pm.
