Yep, from back in the early 80's on my trip ups to see Kenny Carter

With Sam E in charge, do you think he is trying to get Greg Hancock out of retirement?
-
Two at then end of March, yet just one in July crazy.
Oxford running in both leagues now seems logical

Jenkins confirmed.
Could work out to be the best signing

You can choose to ignore that if you wish. They also provide illumination on what may or may not have gone on at other clubs in the past.
His body language in the pits, with the fans and after winning heats also shows a lot, again someone who views his time at Ipswich as a 'pure' convenience' wouldn't be like he is with the fans etc.
Finally treating someone well often brings it own loyalty as a director of a company of 22 staff, many of whom have been with us for 10+ years I know all about that! Yes no one works for free and in many cases convenience helps - but it would be more convenient for me to work in the local chip shop as its 2 minutes from my home and i wouldnt have to run a company of 22 people and all the stresses that goes with it, but I still choose to do it!
Very true. For those that are there every week, it's clear to see.
As opposed to somebody with a Man U top as his profile and the words Sick Bro - I know what I see and whom to believe.

Nothing more, nothing less.
If he wasn't bothered about Ipswich or UK he could move his family to Sweden or Poland and still get family time. He's committed to the UK and gets nowhere near enough credit.
If every GP rider was the same, Speedway in the UK would be top notch.

Would chop my right arm off for weekly speedway, as would many I would think, given how every year we moan about a lack of fixtures.
An attractive season ticket and they are onto a great thing here.
Hats off to them, full of admiration. What if it works well and every club does it over the next few years.

Talking Crap again.
I remember, Len coming out after every heat on his tractor, 2 laps and in again. Never delayed meetings as always finished within 90 mins. If there was a break he's be out with the hose.

He won the British GP as a wild card, didn’t he? I’m sure it was in the early 00s and at Coventry.
His temperament was questionable. Saw him knock a reserve rider off after a race finished, because he had the audacity to beat him.

Shows a total lack of class and humility.
Sounds like a lot of people have lost a lot of respect for him.
If I was his sponsor I certainly would not have liked it

Great meeting, was good viewing on TV.
Charles Wright Micro moving at the start yet again. Everybody else can sit still !

Terrestrial TV is not the answer. Young people these days are moving away from it and going doing the streaming and Apps for watching shows.
Apart from some of the GP's, with well prepared tracks, Speedway never comes across that well anyway.

10 hours ago, Daniel Smith said:As fans the last thing needed is "my clubs better than yours".
From top to bottom, league by league, the whole sport is on the brink of collapse.
As many as 5 clubs could be gone come the winter. If these clubs do fold we could see a complete collapse of the sport.
There's never going to be full agreement between promoters & sponsors on structure. We're in a position that there has to be 1 league. Some will want the big guns, some won't. Fixed race nights, some just can't etc.
Should we link up with Poland? Hear me out.
Each of our clubs are feeder clubs to the Ekstraliga. Over there they pay salaries so instead of us negotiating individual contract, our clubs pay a monthly rate to use their squad. Effectively their squads of 14 / 18 riders also become ours. We have to include 2 homegrown rider's in our 7 at all times. British teams can only include 1 of the the Ekstraliga rider's that featured in the Ekstraliga weekend fixture, other 4 from the squad.
Example:
Wroclaw squad;
Laguta, Bewley, Woffinden, Janowski, Pawlicki, Kowalski, Chugunov, Fienhage, Panicz, Andrzejewski, Curzytek, Wiatroski, Rybak, Lopuski.
King's Lynn;
Worrall & Nicholls full time
This shouldn't be mandatory for British clubs to assign a Polish club. If a club wants to run their own 7 they can.
We just need to find a solution to becoming more efficient, eradicate guests, doubling up etc.
Just an idea.
Similar idea, how about this:
Seeing as a lot of riders race in Sweden, let's create a European league.
5 teams for the UK and 5 from Sweden to complete in the Anglo-Nordic league. Maybe even include 5 from Denmark to create a 10 / 15 strong league.
To make it more attractive with regard to traveling, have the riders also compete in individual meetings at Championship tracks on off-race nights whilst they are in the relevant countries.

19 minutes ago, W9 Lion said:And who pays the freight of moving machines between Swe & UK?
Riders would either travel in their vans with bikes, or have machines located in each country.
As a lot of riders ride in both leagues they continue to do what they do now.

Time to think more radically.
The sport is the UK is running out of clubs. Seeing as a lot of riders race in Sweden, let's create a European league.

Lovely to have 3 meetings in 3 weeks. Not had that in a long while.
Also, as usual, all done in 90 minutes - that's how it should be done everywhere.

As much as I like Charles, he was moving, I noticed it in real time. A certain British champion a few years back would not have won, if he wasn't doing exactly the same micro movement. As for loss of earnings, if you got warned once, why would you do it again.

Wright is one of my favourite riders, but he was moving fractionally in Heat 14 and the one in which he got a warning. It is minute, only mm but he was moving.
Adam Ellis does it as well.

Look at Lindgrens line after Doyle went down. 100% would have wiped Doyle out. Bad call.

Of course there will be opinions as to both. I know what mine is.
It resembles the statements you see when MPs or other such celebrities get their fingers caught in the till or other such indiscretions where they are bang to rights.
Here's where I have a problem with it :
1. Why did it take from the 2nd November until now to get the apology?
2. Would the apology have been forthcoming if the incident had not been published on social media?
3. If the apology was based on the fact that he didn't know of Steve's illness - is he saying he would be justified if Steve had had a clean bill of health?
4. He didn't know Steve was ill. Very, very difficult to believe. Steve was in communication with his wife (again to try and resolve the 'issues') and she was well aware. Plus I know many of his inner circle who also knew. And apparently Peter didn't?
5. A 35 year long feud that exploded on that particular night? really?
6. A 35 year long feud that spanned 4 different promotions? That takes you back to the time when he was part of one such promotion!
The situation commenced in 2016 at the start of the NSS opening. That I do know.
Interestingly, some 20+ ex-riders have been in touch to commiserate and ask about arrangements, I asked them the same question. - ''Did you get a free pass when PC was Promoter?'' the answer was unanimous and I will let you guess the answer. It may surprise you.
The good news is that I am reliably informed that book sales have not been affected. At least that is one consolation to this whole affair
The truth sets you free
Completely agree.
Nothing more than damage limitation.

This poor show will affect crowd numbers next year.

Is the U21 Final being shown on Discovery+
Ipswich vs Oxford 18th April
in SGB Premiership Speedway League

By not running Heat 15, did Oxford get a losing bonus point by only losing by 6?
If so, lets hope Ipswich don't miss out on the play offs by 1 league point from Oxford!
More than happy with Jordon. Clearly on the pace and will score more when in his correct position of reserve.
