I’ve seen video and no where near as bad as that just some shouting and gesturing. They rode together 2 more times after that fine. I’d be more concerned about your own riders performances as Belle Vue riders can do that every time if they score like that.

That's not true. Wright was riding all sorts of lines in heat 10 with Brennan behind him and was doing it deliberately. It almost caused Brennan to lose 3rd to Hume as he had to go wide at one point to avoid Wright on bends 1/2.

It was pretty poor and unnecessary behaviour as there was nothing that Brennan did wrong in heat 3.

Wright wouldn't have reacted that way towards a seasoned or harder character either as he would have received something back.

  2. Not a great meeting. Most exciting part was watching Charles Wright racing Tom Brennan all night & have a pop at him after heat 3.

Ipswich bottom end was awful. Rew's gating is terrible & Thompson is out of his depth. Hume as a senior reserve with Rew not looking comfortable around Foxhall spells trouble. King didn't help his side though in heat 12 after a surprise 5-1 in heat 11.

Belle Vue steady & did what they had to do against a weakened side. Bewley well off the pace again. What's going on with him?

Always nice when they close the A12 at 9pm & get imbeciles to put out the diversion signs.

The first meeting I went to featured a guest rider. That was well over fifty years ago. Additionally, I would venture that in a hierarchical list of 'the banes of British speedway', guest riders would not feature highly. Just an opinion.

Nonsense. It's one of the worst aspects of the sport in this country & why it's not taken seriously.

Poland won't go near guests as the league will lose all integrity.

One rider missing from the top 5 & it should be R/R. Any missing reseve is replaced by a club junior.

  4. Absolutely. Have only attended 2 domestic meetings since my club closed in 2018. The poor standard and the nonsense of riders riding for 2 teams of basically the same standard have put me off.

Ipswich is 70-odd miles from me so will attend a few matches this season just to see Emil. I wouldn't have bothered otherwise.

I do worry about British Speedway messing it up as usual though and demonstrating a lack of professionalism like last night at Peterborough with the floodlights and moving the white line. Riders like Emil and Nicki will just bin it off if that happens along with people like me.

He owns the club. Why should he p155 off:).. If TM would like to buy it for a reasonable price i'm sure a deal will be done. If not he can stay as a sponsor and not get above his station, and Buster remains the owner. Simples..

He's the guardian at the moment. I suspect he has no interest or idea how to find P'boro a new home. He won't have the money or the people skills to deal with the council.

The club then dies after this season if Chapman asks for silly money and won't sell. Idiot.

Look at the state of KL where he runs a dump of a stadium and puts poor sides together year after year

  6. Chapman needs to p1ss off out the club. Didn't he only buy it because the top league needed a certain amount of clubs when he was chairman?

He did his job, now go.

Tomalin seems to have the passion and money behind him to move the club forward. Chapman is a dinosaur and the club won't last long if he's in charge for much longer. Can you really see Chapman going to the council and fighting for the future of the club and putting ideas for a new stadium in front of them? How a bloke like this was in charge of the sport sums it up I'm afraid.

That picture only shows a very small part of the opposite bend to the one where the crash was. If you view the full bend, you’ll see that there is loads of run off space. The track is also used for moto x or flat track racing and they use the full size.
As far as the crash is concerned, from the commentary, I take it Rew is in yellow. If that’s the case, I doubt an inflatable barrier  would have made any difference as it wasn’t hitting the fence that caused any injuries. It was the way he laid the bike down. The impact would have been the same had he hit either the existing fence or an inflatable barrier.
    In my opinion

One of the most stupid posts Ive seen on this forum and that's saying something...

It was the way he laid it down haha

There is what looks like a floodlight pylon a few feet behind a bag of plastic bottles. The run off area is full of of objects. Incredibly dangerous.

Did you not notice him hit a solid fence feet first and hear the impact. The lads lucky he can still walk

How that track can be signed off by anyone as safe is crazy.

  8. Russell has always been a bit of a wideboy. I imagine his interest in the sport fizzled out when his cut of Sky money stopped. Doubt he's even interested in reviving Swindon anymore.

The worst out of all of this is Rossiter and Kilby. These are supposedly Swindon through and through and have backed the bullsh1t and lies for many years and even had a pop at the fans for questioning GI and the new stadium. Rosco sitting on bikes with plans and telling everyone it will happen was pathetic

You could see it wasn't happening from a mile off but Rosco wouldn't have it. He's happy to get front and centre when a trophy is being lifted but he has been very quiet lately.

  9. Sounds like it's looking more positive looking on the Rye Facebook page. Fair play to the RHAG for their efforts.

Track measurements taking place. Interesting what area they will have to work with as possible junior football pitch in the middle plus it looked as though there was paving over where the track used to be. I'd hope if there is a blank canvas that they contact Chris Morton and get the dimensions for the NSS or the Oak Tree Arena. Obviously, it wouldn't be as big but something that rides the same as those tracks would be ideal.

I am sure Rob will have the figures, but from my memory changing from Saturday night racing to midweek racing halved the attendance and killed Rye House. So the BSPA did the damage with fixed race nights. Finished Poole off in the PL too.

Promotion were naive in expecting crowds to turn up fighting the midweek horrendous traffic on the M25. I rarely made it to a midweek meeting from here......M2 , Dartford Tunnel, M25 , A10 ☹️

With hindsight they should have gone CL. Local derbies against Lakeside.

The crowds were down by way more than half. The average in 2017 must have been around the 1,500 mark as there were some big crowds that year at Rye. On a Monday or Wednesday night they were down to 500 for some of them and remember being at the Leicester meeting in 2018 on a Monday/Wednesday with crap weather and there couldn't have been more than 400 max. Fixed race nights killed the club and those two clowns, Godfrey and Chapman refused to let Rye go back to Saturday nights and preferred to kill the club instead.

For riders doubling up they are.

This is why no one takes the sport seriously in this country. We are killing clubs and using fixed race nights so riders can ride for multiple teams.

The two leagues are no different in standard now. I have hardly attended a British meeting since Rye closed as it's mickey mouse with riders riding for two clubs at basically the same level. There can't be any attachment to riders and must look completely insane to outsiders.
