I certainly dont regret giving this one a miss, lets hope the racing improves, correction we get some instead of these processions.

Belle Vue v Ipswich 8 august

Even with the big scores the racing has been good in all the meetings. When it comes to play off time its a different ball game, all or nothing and the pressure is really on, in the past injuries have conspired against us but can we get the monkey off our back this season if we get to the final? Then league performances count for nothing so i for one wont be counting any chickens. Without doubt Ipswich and Sheffield will be far better come play off time, all to play for.
  4. Exactly there was no point in keeping people hanging around, it was obvious there would be no more racing so apart from hoping people would spend more money (which they didnt around me) it was pointless,
  5. Actually Manchester is number ten in the list of wettest places in the UK, still not on a par with the sunny south though.
  6. After missing a really good meeting last week that would have been good viewing on tv Eurosport again serve up a duck egg. Can only see a big home win with the majority of the fans staying at home to watch it on tv if not watching the womens euro game. They do seem consistent in picking the wrong fixture for tele. Im going for two reasons, a couple of hours out in the sun and not having to listen to Sam waffling on. Lets hope Lynn can at least make it a race meeting.

    Aces v Tigers - League - 4/7

I always used to do our meetings down there, have friends in Portsmouth so fairly easy to still pop along the coast for me when im down there.

Is there a notable difference in figures during the holiday months Lisa? I would assume thats a bonus for the club being able to draw on the influx of visitors.

    Aces v Tigers - League - 4/7

I dont understand the ongoing obsession speedway fans have in the UK regarding crowds, fact is no club in the country gets good crowds, i can remember when every track i visited got four or five figure crowds, BV for example would take 6 coaches down to Swindon as well as people making their own way. Away fans came in large numbers to Hyde Road as it was a family day out with the fun fair and zoo, the BLRC could have 20,000 fans in, just to think speedway used to get football type crowds on a regular basis many years ago, those days are long finished. Sad to see the sport as it is today Lisa. Maybe the powers that be need to study where Poland was then and how they got to where they are now? Next up tv meeting with the majority staying to watch on tv.

    Aces v Tigers - League - 4/7

Despite the big win some really good racing, Eurosport missed a trick, sods law next week when they turn up it will be poor fare in front of a very sparse crowd, i dont know why people prefer to stay at home and watch on tv, nothing like being there, always been the same in speedway even before the economic problems.

    Edinburgh 2022

Its great news for Edinburgh, obviously theres work to be done but the sport in this country needs some positivity and the Monarchs not being another lost club provides that.

    Sheffield v Ipswich 27 June.

What a comparison to how the sport is in Poland, chalk and cheese.

    Sheffield v Ipswich 27 June.

TV coverage isnt really doing the sport any favours this season, been some dire meetings, cant see newbies being tempted in.

    Sheffield v Ipswich 27 June.

They spend two minutes at the start gardening and one minute actually racing.

    Sheffield v Ipswich 27 June.

    Sheffield v Ipswich 27 June.

Jason Doyle is a class apart, great servant to British speedway, a great rider.

    Wolves v Belle Vue 20 June 2022

Thats why i wont leave it on the street during the meeting, was thinking it would be ok during the day as the companies there will be working.

    Wolves v Belle Vue 20 June 2022

Yes i could do but was thinking i could just park up and forget about the car till after the meeting, its not a long walk into town. Probably park up on a side street near the stadium walk into town then get back to the stadium about six ish.

    Wolves v Belle Vue 20 June 2022

Can only see a comfy home win as Fricke and Kurtz seem to struggle here and Matej hasnt been there for a few years. One question due to circumstances im going to be getting into Wolverhamton early around 14.00 and plan to park by the stadium and walk into town, will the stadium car park be available at that time? I only ask because Sheffield always is when ive had to arrive there earlier .

    6 team league

Best move for you dropping down, apart from a handful, teams are made up of the same riders, we just pay more to watch them, being honest i would have dropped down a long time ago, more variety team wise and quite a few northern based clubs that would swell the gate with better away support, not being beholden to Poland on your home race day is another bonus.
  25. Lets see what Monday produces racing wise.
