Makes sense. When you say "the only one in the gp, at least early in the gp",does this mean Nicki was the only rider known to be using it for his teams own reference, or is it something that only one rider is allocated at random to gather info? Now that I think of it, I'm sure rickardsson used a similar method to stay on top.

Noticed this electronic display inside Nicki's bike after his crash last weekend, and wondered if anyone knows what it is. I've never seen or heard of something like this before on a speedway bike, and my first guess was perhaps it is some sort of temperature gauge? or a victim count for how many riders have fallen foul to him on the night?

I like the idea of the top 5 of Aussies, I can imagine it would be exciting to watch. However I can see some big away losses at time on the road.

If kings lynn manage to find the form they started with this season they are serious threat. There drop in form just proves the league is a marathon, not a sprint and luck surely is a key factor with injuries etc. good on them for being able to retain the original line up bar one. It would be nice to see it happen more often

Poole did it in 2005 after winning the double in 2004 with a top 5 of : Sullivan(replaced rickardsson in 04) lindback,ferjan,kasprzak,Bjarne pedersen.
2005 wasn't a good season and pretty sure the side went out at the first hurdle in the play offs

I didn't say it was anyone else's fault. My answer was in reply to other comments. I am just as disappointed as the other Poole fans.

It may be enough earlier in the season, but this is very much the business end of the season in the GPs and play offs. We are not talking about a second string or reserve here, this is a no.1 heat leader position and all the top guys are tied up with other commitments.

I would suggest it would be "save the best till last" and try to make the best of a bad situation. With tai and Bjarne injured, it doesn't bode well. Tai is highly unlikely to want to guest now he is nursing an injury, struggling with fatigue and still very much in the title race. The title is still very much in Kings Lynn's hands.

I agree with most of what you say scribbler, but please don't ignore, when i clearly stated I do not condone darcys actions. If you dig deep enough, or even scrape a bit off the surface even, you will find most riders are just as guilty as darcy now or have been in the past. But I acknowledge that doesn't mean everyone. I still maintain a stricter testing procedure should be introduced.

I do not condone wards actions at all, however it is common knowledge that most riders enjoy a drink or 5, maybe something a bit more at times! This has been the case for years. I can't help but feel as this is darcy and his relation to Poole, people are forgetting this. Perhaps instead of randomly selecting a few riders for testing, all riders should be expected to undergo testing. If they have nothing to hide, I shouldn't imagine there would be a problem.

More money and a larger fan base. Speedway is amongst the top sports in Poland so attracts more attention.

A team with alot of promise on paper, but will need to deliver. No different to kl last year though and looked what happened to them! Speedway is a funny game, I'm sure there will be many more twists to come. I also expect magic to average 8. He's good, but I'm not totally convinced by him yet.

...So I hear Poole speedway have already pre booked fireworks and an open bus tour of the town for when we successfully retain the EL title this season.

I think some posters obvious dislike for Steve clouds their better judgement when they post. Nobody is perfect but some comments remind me of a child's playground.

Why? Yes it's very sad and unfortunate, but that's life. These guys know the risks in what they do, some even get a kick out of the element of danger involved. It was a harmless comment blown way out of proportion.

All I got from steves post was he was making the connection that Motorsport riders and drivers participate in skiing during preseason. Schuie being a 7x champion in fact. What's the problem?!
I believe darcy was competing in the troy bayliss classic, which is a flat track meeting.

Jonasson has had better seasons, and spent alot of time being injured for Poole. Personally I feel the correct candidate should be a rider who started the season in the league and finished it.

Interesting stuff, thanks fsp. scb, I think lindback was usinng a similar method to rickardsson backt then... I think recall hearing that trick was one of the first to use laptops for data logging around the same time he introduced the penske race frame. Lindback inherited the frames after tony retired, so i assume he passed on other aids too!
