  1. After a surprise but welcome victory today at the Abbey the Pirates are in action on Wednesday with the second visit of the season from the Robins. Swindon were very much second best in the A fixture but will be looking for revenge. Poole will need to up their game after last week's defeat against he Aces. I hope the track is sorted out and produces some decent racing. Also a mention of the nasty fall suffered by Adam Ellis at Blunsden. I hope he has not broken his collar bone and is passed fit to ride. Thoughts?
  2. After todays postponement against the Lions the Pirates return to action on Monday to take on the Aces for the fist time this season. Belle Vue will offer a stern test for the Pirates with a strong top end and assuming that Steve Worrall is still at reserve could run the Pirates close. Adam Ellis returns to reserve for Poole and hopefully will pile up the points. The meeting could be won or lost depending on the performance of the second strings. Kyle Newman is expected to make his come back from illness but will be up in the team so may struggle. Thoughts?
  3. Well done to the Aces on their deserved win last night. Disappointed with some of the performances from the Pirates. Clearly they weren't happy with track conditions and this was soon exploited by Belle Vue. Having said that the track was the same for both sides and did produce some overtaking mainly from the Aces. There appeared to be a problem on the fourth turn before regrading which caused both Bjarne and Hans to come down. Poole will need to step up as they have not found any consistency yet with some tough encounters to come.
  4. Next week sees the Leicester Lions make their first trip of the season to Wimborne Road The Lions are certainly no push overs and we're 12 points up at Home to Poole on Monday evening. The Pirates though have remained strong so far at home and I feel should see off the threat from the Lions. Was impressed with Symon Wozniak on Monday at Leicester and will be interesting to see how he goes around Poole. Thoughts?

  6. After last nights thrashing at Monmore Green, the Pirates will re-group to take on the Wolves tomorrrow evening at Wimborne Road. Poole look to have three riders missing with both Kyle Newman and Adam Ellis sidelined through injury and Bjarne Pedersen in Denmark for a Danish league commitment. Wolves will fancy thier chances of a quick fire double over the Pirates so this could be another defeat on the cards. The Pirates will need to up thier game considerably after yesterdays defeat if we are to claim 3 points.. Thoughts?

    Wolverhampton V Poole. Ela 2/5/16

Hi Sean, you have two hopes in signing Kyle Newman Bob Hope and No Hope.Nice try Kyle Newman riding for our arch enemies
  8. Wednesday evening brings the Lakeside Hammers to Wimborne Road on the back of a comprehensive victory home and away against the Leicester Lions. The Hammers will be full of confidence and with riders who go well around Wimborne Road could cause the Pirates a few problems. Poole I believe with home track advantage and stronger reserves should edge this meeting. Thoughts?

Who says its the only meeting he is missing? It looks like you have all the answers

    Posf2 Poole V Coventry

you can't help yourself Gavan you really are a nasty piece of work.put your money where your mouth is and prove that Poole are cheats? On another note, if Dakota had scored double fiqures at Brandon would anyone had posted on here about him taking a break?
  13. The Robins return to Wimborne Road for the rearranged fixture on Monday the 7th of September sadly without the supreme talent that is Darcy Ward. This will be a emotional evening for both teams who will have to race under very difficult circumstances.
  14. Tonight could be a rehersal for the playoff final with the Pirates clear in first position. Not taking anything away from our rivals. The results tonight will determine who Poole will select to face in the semi finals with Belle Vue still in the mix the Pirates dont have a good track record against the Aces in 2015. Hopefully all will be sorted after tonights meetings.
  15. The Pirates return to action on Wednesday to take on Kings Lynn after two postponements at home, on what is bound to be an emotional evening. The Stars will provide tough opposition, led by Neils-Kristian Iversen but could depend on the guests they choose whether they are able to run the Pirates close. Poole will need to try and not let themselves be out manouvered and out fought on track. Feelings will still be running high after the dreadful news from Darcy's accident still painfully raw in everyone's mind. Matt Ford and Neil Middleditch will have to try and rally the team some how with league points still to be raced for. Poole can still finish top if they gain maximum points from the remaining meeting Thoughts?
  16. I would like to say what a transformation the Facennas have carried out at Ashfield. This was my first visit since the stadium had been transformed. The facilities are top class from the ticket offices to the track shop and Tigers den, the Pits area, the refurbished grandstand, the hospitality boxes and the razzamataz with the start line girls and Roxy and Roary. The presentation offered on Sunday was great entertainment for all. My only gripe was the long delays but because of the hot weather and crashes this was inevitable. Unfortunately for me as I live on the South coast I had to dash to Glasgow Airport to catch the 6.15pm flight back to Southampton. This meant i had to leave early and was only able to watch 8 heats. Anyway we'll done to Glasgow Speedway and I hope to return next season.
  17. I will be making the trip up to the North East on Thursday as part of a Scottish tour with my first stop at Redcar. I'm not sure of the line ups so perhaps someone can post the teams as they are expected to appear. Always enjoy my trips to the Stmp and hope to see a decent contest.
  18. Will be at this meeting as part of my Northern tour. Let's hope for a decent meeting between both sides. Looking forward to seeing the new look Ashfield stadium. The weather forecast for Sunday looks not to clever, lets hope the meeting can go ahead.

Berwick V Somerset. Sat Aug 22nd

Yes i'am also looking forward to this fixture as I will following the Rebels on their Northern tour. Let's hope for a decent meeting and also hope the weather is OK on Saturday.
  20. The Belle Vue Aces arrive at Wimborne Road on Wednesday with an almost perfect record against the Pirates throughout 2015. They could be described as a bogy side and will pose a stiff challenge. The Aces have a strong heat-leader trio in Matej Zagar,Scott Nicholls and a inform Craig Cook add in two talented Aussies in Josh Grajczonek and Max Fricke as second string's,this contest will be thight. The reserves could be crucial and both Kyle Newmsn and Paul Starke need to take points off Steve Worrall and Stefan Nielsen. If the Pirates ride as they did against the Robins then I think we can exact some revenge and claim all 3 points.
  21. Wednesday brings the second visit of the season of the Leceister Lions to Wimborne Road. Leicester include former Pirates and track specialists Jason Doyle and Grzegorz Wallasek so should prove some tough challenges to the Pirates. The Lions are going through a rough patch with riders out injured long term and will be smarting from Saturdays home defeat to Lakeside. The Pirates need to put tonight's poor performance at Belle Vue behind them and tame the Lions and pick up 3 points. Thoughts?

Poole Pirates Vs Leceister Lions 5/8/15

Can someone post weather updates as there is a forecast of heavy rain between 4pm-6pm
  23. Well done to the Aces on a deserved victory but for Poole a below par performance from Noddy and Watt. We will cross swords a week on Wednesday where I think the Pirates will get revenge.
  24. Well after their convincing win at Monmore Green last night the Robins will be full of confidence ahead of the trip to Wimborne Road. This meeting of course will be focused on the return to Poole of Darcy Ward who of course is assured of a warm welcome from the Pirates fans. The Robins will pose a big threat to the Pirates and with a heat-leader trio of Ward,Zengota and Bachelor and a trump card at reserve in Charles Wright. The Pirates will need all seven riders to be at the top of their game if we are to turn the Robins over. Thoughts?
  25. Hope to make the trip up on Monday (weather permiiting) to Monmore Green to see the Pirates go head to head with the Wolves. Wolverhampton have had a bad run of form of late but should not be underestimated and have already comfortably seen off Poole early on in the season. The Pirates will be looking to turn the tables on Wolves and pick up some league points but will have to be at thier best, so this could go either way. Thoughts?
