  1. Norman Storer didn't ride for the Lions in this KO Cup meeting and was replaced by T Swales, was it Tony or Tim? Looking forward to the Lions renewing their rivalry with the Tigers at Ashfield this year...

    Missing Heat Details From 1979

No problem - that's one of the advantages of being off due to the snow here in Glasgow... lots of time to look at old Speedway Stars

    Excellent! Thanks again...
  9. Hi, can anyone provide the heat details for this meeting? The relevant issue of the Speedway Star had no information due to an ongoing industrial dispute... Thanks, David

  13. Only 15 riders named so far... is there one more to come or is it a strange format?

    Scottish Speedway Museum

Aye very good son! It's the best speedway museum in the world, never mind the UK! Ask some of the multi-World Champions that have signed the guestbook what they think about it

    Scottish Speedway Museum

More than likely, it's a well-kept secret but well worth the trip

    Scottish Speedway Museum

A pity no one replied to you Miss Tigs, but having visited yesterday before heading to Ashfield for the Tigers victory over that Embra mob, I can thoroughly recommend a trip to the museum, it's fantastic! Remaining scheduled openings this year are on September 5th and October 31st.
  17. Scorers can be found at Lioness' site http://www.glasgowspeedway.com/GSCom/meeti...ield%20Jnr.html McKinna & Lawson were best in the field but met in Heat 1 when the track was at it's heaviest.

    Ettienne Oliver

Sandman's correct - surname is Olivier and a South African, according to the excellent 25th Anniversary handbook regarding Glasgow produced by Ian Steel & David Thomson. Don't know when he was born though, that's usually a question for Mike Moseley
  19. The usual 3 team format is - Team A v Team B in Heats 1, 4, 7, 10, 13 & 16; Team B v Team C in Heats 2, 5, 8, 11, 14 & 17 and Team C v Team A in Heats 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 & 18 There are 2 riders from each team per race. And I know it's a week late but your new hairdo is looking good!

    Speedway's Most-travelled Riders

Neil had 2 seasons with Glasgow (92 & 97) and also rode with Wolves
  21. The Ashfield Classic has been cancelled but the meeting today is the Heathersfield Golden Helmet - perhaps the thread title needs amending? Grey skies on the southside of Glasgow but little threat of rain so the racing should be in no doubt

I've checked all sources available to me & I'm stumped - what were the line-ups (with scores if possible) on 29th August 1977 when the Wizards lost 38-40 at home to Glasgow? Thanks in advance
