  1. every speedway fan in workington... get down to derwent park either 10am thurs. and definatly on saturday to support keith and our team. This year as been difficult for the management the fans and the riders. rain offs. injuries. have all taken there toll. the fans often feel let down by the lack of riders wanting . and not wanting to ride for us . for what ever the reasons, keith and jacko have tried hard to fill the gaps, but we all want to see a seven man team. i hear keith as banned people from the stadium. and fans are not happy about it. To be fair to him i have read some statements made at the management on the internet and i wouldnt like to be addressed to like that by anyone .

keith is the owner of workington comets. speedway. and he also is one of us a big speedwy fan. He deserves a lot of praise for the effort . money. and time ,he and his team put into it. He has put to gether in my opinion proberly the finest comets one to seven we could all have wished for. Yes things have gone wrong. but he has tried hard to sort it.

so now its our time to sort it out for him and get down to derwent park and get behind him and the team.

and show him there is a big future in workington for the comets.

  2. i think whats wrong here is the referees are not consistant. in the elite league with the same aid of the camera, its most likely gollop would have been thrown out of the meeting . but in the gps anything goes. i have and most of you have seen niki pederson. jason crump at cardiff. thrown out of meetings for just the slightest touch of a leg on an opposing rider.for me the rule is simple to understand. contact and you should be out.

  3. great meeting. what cant you say about cookie, no fear best prospect to come out of workington since steve lawson. and didnt he look great, back on a bike. was really good to meet up with some of the older riders. taffy owen . cant beleive hes 74 years old. berni hornby. mick newton. ian hindle. and the ever daft as a brush terry kelly what a crack he was surperb night. ended up in the waverly until late. whos idea was it to put the clocks foward.? think ill go back to bed.

  4. just come on line now . dont know the top 123 results but it seems , ricky ashworth won it .previous posts piss me right off . home advantage means nothing at this event .stoney went through the same crap .ex sheffield bount to win and he did so. you know why it takes more than just home experience to win meetings like this. stand up young ricky and take a bow. its something your worthy of, also youve been as always an absolute cracking guest when youve guested for the comets. a true profesional. couldnt have gone to a nicer bloke. and a young british rider .

  5. sick to death of reading home advantage and the like. comets won it . live with it.

the one thing that does require addressing is the state of the track. if you were a neutral fan , and was there did you notice. that later on in the meeting the racing was more competitive, i think early on the racing is just to fast when riders are doing 63 or 64 second laps the racing is processional. but later when the times went to 65. 66 second laps ther was a lot of better closer racing. i think derwent park is to fast acircuit. i would put more shale on it. plenty water keep the times to around 66 seconds and there would be alot better racing.
