  1. Cook has new average, after 4 meetings home & away apparently. 5.85. No. Squeaky voiced annoying ginger Middleditch was interviewed at the scene of the world worst 500cc "contest"
  2. It didn't matter, Morris & Castagna getting a 5-1 in heat 14 meant Brummies had won. 2 points first two rides, 3 riders, ahead of the generally appalling Grobauer. 2 points in heat 10, beat Cook, Thomas packed up at the gate. If Brummies had a savvy team manager Castagna might have given Worrall something to think about in that heat. Bike quit in heat 13 chasing the uninterested Schein. Much improved in heat 15 when it was all over.
  3. Give them chance to get home, they've probably only just made it to the M5 considering how bad the traffic is around Perry Barr with the Commonwealth Games infrastructure upgrades.
  4. A generally appalling advert for Speedway, any newcomers tonight (and the crowd was better than the last few weeks) won't be in a hurry to return, couldn't really be helped by the hour plus delay following the heat 1 coming together of Nielsen & Grobauer. Speedy recovery for Nielsen. Haven't been feeling great and almost didn't go tonight, I wish I hadn't! The M6 was much improved on the way there compared to recent weeks but again down to one lane after Wednesbury where I decided to get off. Hats off to Danny King, two superb first corner moves to get the better of Harris & Riss who'd got the better of him out the gate in his first two rides, an excellent pass of Morris in this third ride and a dominant heat 13 win. That was the only pass of the night aside from Riss getting the better of a generally uninterested looking Schlein in heat 13. Can't believe it's the same rider as I saw on Monday at the NSS, was he under power when heat 1 was halted, maybe, if he was he was going very slow! Not at all interested in chasing anyone in his second & third rides Couldn't see a great deal wrong with the track if I'm honest but the Poole riders seemed to insist there was and the tractor went to work on bends 3 & 4. About what any regular Perry Barr attendees would expect from the Brummies septet except for Harris who looked slow on the bike that gave up in heat 13, was much quicker on the bike he used in heat 15. Thomas had a good outing in heat 8 but that was it. Castagna only dropped points to King & Worrall. Morris & Shanes improved after conceding a 1-5 in their opening ride. Grobauer beat no-one, may have injury affected following fall but I doubt it, that's about all I expect from him. For Poole, Worrall was good, the very busy Hume had the beating of Thomas but no other Brummie but did at least he gave Shanes & Morris something to think about in heat 5 and Cook did nothing after an impressive opening ride. Who knows what the result would have been if Nielsen hadn't got injured or if Poole had named a #8 so didn't have to go with 3 riders in several heats but they could still have won if Schlein had shown the form he showed on Monday.
  5. Perhaps Harris should have used the bike he rode in heat 15 earlier, the bike he rode in his previous outings that gave up in heat 13 was nowhere near that quick!
  6. About as Donkeyish as Harris.
  7. Nielsen is at 6, Cook has new average so into the top 5.
  8. Bit late now but think Perry Barr train station is shut due to infrastructure upgrades due to Commonwealth Games. My work colleague who is a Villa fan living in Dudley moans about it allot. Seen the odd Pugwasher but not like the army that visited Monmore/Brandon in the mid naughties. Looking forward to seeing how Hume has developed, had a few good outings as a guest for Brummies in 2019. Poole to win by 10.
  9. Anyone know when tickets for the NSS midday shenanigans will go on sale?

    Redcar v Berwick

Ah, I see. Easily confused on a small phone screen.
  11. Haven't been since Peter Karlsson's retirement meeting and not for a league match for at least 10 years. Just because I don't particularly enjoy it, doesn't mean the racing can't be good. The problem these days is that it's pretty much unique in it's size & shape. Most riders visit it once or twice a year so never learn how to ride it. If you call gating & locking up twice per corner in an attempt to not get passed on 'Karlsson corridor' being able to ride Monmore fair enough, I wouldn't.
  12. The meeting this morning was good. Pearson didn't need any spin, they should have shown more of it. Monmore can produce good racing but you need riders who can ride it, such riders are dwindling fast as the bikes get quicker and emphasis is on Poland is the place to be. Except for the current Wolves septet all the others I'd put in that category currently ride for Peterborough. Kurtz was much better than I expected tonight, thought he'd ride it like Batchelor does(n't).
  13. The helmet camera is rubbish. Ladbrokes not paid the water board?
  14. Harsh. Just become a father (dunno if first) and took what sounded a big fall at Poole yesterday. Grobauer & Castagna scores were worse.
  15. Middle order collapse. Other than Riss, Thomas & I suppose Morris another poor away day for the Brummies.
  16. Eh? As the Wimborne Rd clash has already taken place why would I speculate about the score?
  17. Phew! Much better than the chocolate, pink & yellow combination Schlein has on his bike.
  18. That was the best meeting I've witnessed for many a year, just a shame three of the Ace's didn't bother to turn up and the four that did were asleep for the first few heats. The bowser was doing allot of watering before thought it maybe over watered but not the case, you could see there was a build up of material on the outside also. Which no rider went within 10 metres of until Becker in heat 3 when he gated last but sailed around the other three by the end of the first lap. Heat four then had all four riders level coming down the back straight on the first lap. There was then a battle for first which saw Schlein get the better of Kurtz on the final lap due to Kurtz riding to conservatively and for third where Flint outmanoeuvred NBJ. Heat 13 was also a great race, Wolves gated on a 5-1 but Schlein was at the back quite quickly, as Mastters was more concerned with Kurtz, Bewley flew round both of them and disappeared. Masters eventually saw off Kurtz challenge clamping him to the kurb around turns 3 & 4 on the final lap. Tremendous battle for first between Wright & Douglas in heat 14, when they must have swapped places several times. For Aces, NBJ & Etheridge never looked like scoring and Worrall was poor struggled to get the better of Flint & Nicol fotr his only points. Bewley tried to jump the start in heat 1 and found himself at the back, was clearly fast enough but Wolves team rode him out of it well. Then clearly the fastest rider there until he was asleep at the start of heat 15. Kurtz, Wright & Brennan all had decent meetings, Kurtz chain braking as the tapes flew up in heat 15 ruined what could have been a great finale. Masters was very impressive for Wolves and Douglas did damage from reserve, after an impressive opening ride Becker was a little anonymous & Flint will be happy with his performance. I've never liked Schlein but I've never thought him dangerous until today almost fenced Etheridge once and Bewley twice down the back straight. Faded after a good opening ride. I hope Poole have team suits, if he wears a suit the same colour as his bike at Perry Barr on Wednesday I might puke. Nicol was more interested in what was going on behind him rather than what was going on in front of him, a few swerves to block chasing opponents. Guesting "Track Specialist" Lawson was awful. Shame: Weather was crap, M6 on way home was crap & Wolves won but a thoroughly entertaining meeting.
  19. Sure sign Pugwashers have nothing else to do, meeting post very premature for a Perry Barr match! If Brum stop Poole getting 50 I'd be surprised.
  20. Kowalski from Czestochowa alongside Lewandowski would be decent pairing at reserve. Agree Bjerre was better than Kasprzak but Bjerre isn't Polish, so is easier to replace.
  21. Sure you can get tickets for back straight at NSS on the website.
  22. Doyle was the best rider in the series for two years, injury robbed him of the title in 2016. Fully deserved his World Title in 2017.
  23. At NSS? You think? Having seen a few British Finals now, I've never been impressed. Maybe better than Nick Morris but....
