  1. Back straight at Monmore has not had been accessible for more than 15 years.
  2. Never had problem parking at Monmore, big car park at stadium and they'll let you park inside the gates if that gets full, but never had a problem parking next to East Park either and it is quicker to get away. Got tickets for the midday encounter, haven't been to Monmore since Super Trooper farewell and will watch evening antics on TV. Panthers are the only team I can see winning at Monmore this year, if their second visit isn't on TV I'll go.

    Redcar v Berwick

I used to enjoy my occasional visit to Owlerton the speed they go when you are have gotten used to watching riders struggle to turn the bike inside out at Monmore. Thought Tigers v Aces was good, earlier this year but when Panthers visited with Harris at reserve it was poor. They all claim that until I go
  4. Which they haven't done since Berwick, the first away match of the year! Plus cancelling all the fixtures early doors means they can't fit enough meetings in before the cut off.

    Birmingham Brummies 2020

I don't think they should make a change, they're holding their own at home which when the home meetings don't clash with football fixtures will mean a decent crowd, getting thumped away will reduce the averages for next year. It only needs one rider change for that team to be challenging, a heat leader instead of Grobauer. Move Morris to two where I think he'll prosper.

    Birmingham Brummies 2020

Birmingham have no chance of making the play-off's, regardless of any changes. Haven't checked averages in regards which Eagle could replace which Brummie. With a decent third heat leader instead of Grobauer this septet wouldn't be far off.
  7. Brummies team manager always seems reluctant to make changes, at Perry Barr even when Castagna is having a good night he rarely gets more than one extra ride. Grobaur & Thomas (and less often but Morris) often have poor nights when they could be replaced. That said Brummies don't exactly have allot to ride for, no chance of making the playoffs.
  8. Thought Brummies had granted James Shanes paternity leave on Wednesday when his child was born, assumed it was 2 weeks or R/R so why is he riding today?
  9. The track was almost as bad as the cameramen. Hope they have no plans to return!

No domestic football next Wednesday, all internationals.

Less than Kent & Leicester, probably a little better than Berwick. Crowd levels are going to suffer when the Albion are at home. Sure next will be better with no domestic football & a fair few visiting Pugwashers - they always brought a fair few to Monmore when I was there for their visits. Promises to be a better contest especially with ex-Brummie favourite King in the line-up. Yes.
  12. I had tentatively thought this could be my first visit to Leicester but with Belle Vue on BHM, Brummies next Wed and hopefully Owlerton on Thursday I might be speedwayed out. Cook's Premiership form has dipped has it been as bad for Glasgow. Tigers without Ostergaard are less potent also.
  13. Ruml was Gladiators best rider at Perry Barr tonight by a mile!
  14. Track looks worse than Zarnovica at the weekend!

    Birmingham v Plymouth 25 Aug

The Brummies didn't hit 60 points tonight so I doubt they will - Plymouth offered little resistance, except for Dillon Ruml who was their best rider by far after a tentative first few laps of Perry Barr in his first ride. Deserved his heat 15 outing and Gladiators team manager should have used him rather than Pedersen for the Tac Sub - clearly quicker, was still chasing the back wheel of Erik Riss on the last lap of heat 15 when if he hadn't fallen may well have passed the Brummies #1 on the final bends. The rest of the Gladiators were fairly anonymous including Pedersen who was frankly pedestrian, if that's how he rode for Brummies when he was their #1 no wonder he got booed during the presentation. Crump was OK, same style, same mannerisms as the rider who I thought was the best rider in the world in the late noughties - just not as quick. And Keleher who was frankly wild, a danger to himself and others, clouted the air fence and stayed on heat 10 and almost knocked Edwards off in heat 14. Except for Thomas, who had his best night at Perry Barr, Brummies were as much hit as they were miss. Their scores don't suggest it but Morris and Castagna were far from their best, Morris stole second from Cook on the run to the line in heat 3 when he should really have found a way past both Gladiators earlier. Riss was peerless in his first 3 rides. Heat 13 when he made the gate in the first running (I don't know why the referee stopped the race, yes Crump moved before the tapes, but only to his own detriment) but missed it the second and didn't show much enthusiasm for giving chase, was possibly lucky to held on for the win in heat 15 due to Ruml's fall. Harris didn't look at all comfortable in his first ride, seemed to be battling his bike, then untroubled until falling in heat 15. Grobauer was again frankly poor, had nothing to beat in heat 1 & got a second lucky paid win later on. Again no dust tonight, the bump in turn 1 has also almost disappeared. Shame it wasn't enough of a contest to produce better racing. And Hoorah for being home in 20 minutes rather than 90 with the M6 open at junction 10, would have been 15 minutes but for a dawdling driver on a single lane section of the A34 that meant I got stuck at the Scott Arms traffic lights.

Pre meeting comments - One ride each for Harris, Morris & probably two for Castagna as R/R for Shanes makes Brummies stronger. Other than Crump, Pedersen & Ruml (who I saw ride in California in 2015) don't know any of this Plymouth team.

As an Albion fan but a Brummies season ticket holder I'll be at Perry Barr. Albion should be good to watch this year in the championship, it's when they're in the Premier League that it gets depressing!

I'm not being negative, just realistic.
  19. Where is @Falubaz??? Robert Lambert 8th in Ekstraliga final averages, higher than Dudek.....
  20. Having seen Kasper Andersen & Tom Brenenan at Perry Barr last Wednesday their scores tonight boggle the mind.

    Birmingham v Plymouth 25 Aug

Brummies are not going to get crowds like they had for Kent & Leicester when West Bromwich Albion are playing at home against Arsenal, 10 minutes away, on the same night I'm afraid. At least Birmingham City are not also playing at home this week.
  22. I only saw year of birth for Swidnicki & Miskowiak - 2001. Suspect Swidnicki will go elsewhere if Kowalski is preferred. Imagine Swidnicki will be in demand, would improve all Ekstraliga 6-7's except Lublin.
