Yet Leszno beat Czestochowa (another playoff contender) on Friday when their captain (Pi Pawlicki) and #1 (Sayfutdinov) had off nights Whoever finishes top out of Wroclaw & Gorzow will choose Lublin or Czestochowa in the semi, leaving the other to race the Bulls. -

Are either Grudziadz or FZG likely to name a #8 that could affect the result? Unless Grudziadz win it could be game over, last chance saloon would be Torun's visit to Grudziadz in a few weeks but bonus point that day is looking very unlikely with 20 points to make up -

The SEC will surely show who is in best position to partner Woffinden in SEC, Lambert or Bewley. Lambert is still averaging more than Bewley in Ekstraliga despite being in a poorer team and in the awkward #8 position when he's never sure what heats he is in. -

Great meeting, Sayfutdinov came good in the end. Smektala's best showing this year? -

I don't remember any bet. I said Czestochowa reserves were best in league, Miskowiak was by far the best reserve on show. -

Great heat 7. Lindgren superb first lap, great race Swidnicki/Sayfutdinov. Doyle surely jumped the start in the Aussie 5-1? Madsen superb in heat 11. Swidnicki smoked Ratajczak in heat 12 R+R Heat 13. Great race. -

Swidnicki was quicker in heat 2, Ratajczak had to be pretty defensive to hold him off. Madsen made up serious ground to pass Sayfutdinov in heat 1. -

Can't help thinking Musielak would be a better option for Torun, he is topping the second tier averages. Bizarre statement, they may not be as strong as the past few years which they have dominated but nobody will want to face them in the playoffs. -

Wonder how Ratajczak will do against the Czestochowa reserves, who I consider the best pair in the Ekstraliga (Lublin close second). -

Przedpełski breaks the home duck! Mostly due to Chugonov riding poorly. -

Chris Holder is at least looking competitive for Torun after his recent slump in form. Miedzinski held the lead for 2 laps then at least. If Lambert had clamped Janowski down on turns 1&2 might have been a different story. But Janowski is so fast might not have mattered. Afraid World Title looks a two Polish horse race on Ekstraliga form. -

Torun v Wroclaw -
I'd suggest more water would be a good start. Assume teams are: BIRMINGHAM: Chris Harris, Valentin Grobauer, James Shanes, Ashley Morris, Erik Riss, Paco Castagna, Jack Thomas. GLASGOW: Craig Cook, Broc Nicol, Ulrich Ostergaard, Justin Sedgmen, Ricky Wells, Sam Jensen, Jack Smith. Jack Smith injured at Kent tonight, left stadium in ambulance. Despite this Tigers had secured win by heat 12. Nicol & Jensen being the top performers. That said Nicholls is a one man team for Kent looking at the scores. Will Riss have recovered from pointless meeting at P'boro, will any of the Brummies tail move off the curb when the outside is clearly quicker. Will former Brummie Ostergaard come back to haunt one of his many previous employers? Think Sedgman also called Perry Barr home for a time Any predictions? I'll go with 41-49. Tigers middle order look much stronger than hosts to me.
-
Didn't think crowd was particularly diminished compared to last week, a 100 down at most. All spectator areas seemed pretty busy - can't meander under current restrictions obviously.
-
Am I arguing about Harris' performance? No. He was however involved in the best race of the night, his battle with Cook in heat 13. I actually think Sedgeman was the best visiting Tiger, but Ostergaard deserves credit also Speaking of which, Riss has a long way to go before he earns the moniker "Electric"!
-
I stand corrected he wasn't in the Tigers septet that visited PB in 2019. Then explain the pootling around at the back in heat 14?
-
I can only base my opinion on what I see... Sam Jensen visited Perry Barr in 2019. Also saw him ride abjectly at Owlerton that year. Did you attend the meeting?
-
If you'd have watched him tonight, that's what he did. Pootled around at the back for two heats, no interest. Gated, won by a country mile in heat 8. Next heat win Ostergaard kept Brummies at bay. Missed start in heat 14, pootled around at the rear. Speedway doesn't need riders with Sam Jensen's attitude. Riss looked much better in his final 2 rides, looked as he did for Redcar last year, less impressive before that. Best I've seen Castagna ride, unlucky not to hold off Cook in heat 1. Don't think Shanes & Morris are doing much less than can be expected, they're 5 pointers, scoring 5 points! Morris fall was costly, admittedly but I'd rather a rider try to pass an opponent in front of them than pootle around behind. Highlight of the night was heat 13, Harris v Cook Heat 5 saw Morris & Shanes pass Nicol. Heat 8 Morris was far too kind to Jenkins after figuring a way past exiting turn 2, but allowed the guesting Bear the entirety of bends 3 & 4 outside run to repay the compliment. 15 decent, Riss v Ostergaard. Sadly Harris lost his invite to that party.

Good meeting, some good racing. Glasgow deserved to win, if your number one fails to win a heat any team would struggle.
