  1. I kind of find the argument that there didn't need to be a minutes silence because it had been done in the GP straight after Rico's death ridiculous. Lakeside held a minutes silence in their first meeting following the crash but I am sure everyone would expect to observe a minutes silence at the meeting in September (okay I know it is a meeting in his memory but its still the case). We honour minute's silence's for years on some occasions, is one minute of either silence or noise really to hard to build into the GP schedule? It could have been done before the riders went on parade so that it wasn't part of the main event, but it would have been appreciated by so many. I think it was a missed opportunity for British speedway. This is the biggest speedway event on the calendar in the UK where fans from all over the world attend whilst there was stuff in the program they also said that they "would honour Rico tonight" as far as I am concerned that didn't happen.
  2. Have to say this was my first visit to Terenzano, you have to walk a mile (quite literally) from where the coach is allowed to park! There was minimal merchandise very few food stands and nothing else - it really did not seem very fan friendly. The atmosphere was non-existent it was that bad that even the Polish fans were quiet - I have never seen that before! I couldn't believe how empty the stadium was, but having seen the meeting I understand why! Think I had more dust in my shoes than the track had on it, there was a clear blue line around the bends. The bonus was that we were far enough away from tatum and pearson not to have them screaming down our ears unlike the poor victims in the next section to us - they were stood in front of the refs box out in the open. I felt sorry for Vaculik from where we were sat it was obvious either he, Emil or both were not going to get round the first bend they were elbowing at the start before the tapes even went up and then just angled at each other would have rather seen all 4 back but hey thats racing. It was nice to see Jarek at the track. The only reason I would go back to this track is if Travel Plus go back to Lake Bled that made the whole weekend for me, otherwise I would not go anywhere this track again!
  3. No problem, just wanted to say there are a few riders that no them as the sisters and Ales and Lukas both are aware of this and its origin. It was well known at Oxford, and Johno has certainly referred to them as the sisters in commentary on Sky before this meeting, and Julia Bradbury asked the boys about it in an interview when she did the channel 4 program (shows how long ago that was!). So Tai's comment may have not been meant the way some on here have taken it!
  4. Just to clarify, when the Drymls first came to the UK they were riding at Oxford. Our captain the loveable Johno (whom Tai has spent a lot of time with)christened them the Dryml sisters and this has stuck as both the team and fans referred to them by this, it was not in malace but typically Johno!
  5. Would be interested to know what Phil thought of Bradley, I saw him at the Rye House training day and he looked v good and v talented (although it was only one person on the track at a time). He had a couple of spills getting used to the track but each time he kept the bike going and jumped straight back on it.
  6. Have been looking all over the place without any lick, has anybody got the results if this meeting? Many thsnks in advance.
  7. I wondered that! It seems a really odd amount of competitors surely it should be 16 or 20!
  8. We are still trying to work out how Andersson was excluded when Doolan fell by himself and the lad was left with nowhere to go, the fans certainly made their feelings clear to the point that the ref sat down and wouldn't look at anyone! Not only was he very poor with his decisions but the amount of time left between re-runs and other heats really took the p**s, and to be honest that is what ruined the meeting for myself and others! As for the Fish/Frampton incident at the end from where we were it looked like Fish didn't realise Jordan was there! Can't say that I will be rushing back to Newport for quite a while though.
  9. Just to add more insult to injury we have been informed that fans on buses from Denmark were stopped at the border and informed of the situation! On the plus side there are allegedly around 2000 v angry poles (fans) at the stadium going mental!!!!! I have just e-mailed IMG to make my feelings known and will wait for a response (could be a ruddy long time!).
  10. Well all I can say is I am extremely p****d off. Sitting in Koblenz with the sun shining to be told that the shale has been shipped from Denmark where it has been raining so the shale was soaked before it even got to Germany. We have paid a large amount of money to attend the GP and all IMG are going to do is refund the ticket and give a free ticket to any of next years GP. How much faith do they expect us to have after this ruddy farce, and what about the cost of travel, in the current economical environment it is harder to justify the trip! Unbelievable surely a head should roll for this namely the idiot in charge of track preperations!

    Visiting Pardubice.

The Labe is well known for it's "Ladies of the night" (or should that be any time of the day!!!), also rumoured not to be the best for security with people being robbed during the night so I would only use this as the very last resort unless of course you like that kind of thing!
  12. Does anybody know a result for this meeting yet?
  13. The fans by the ref's box were certainly letting him know their thoughts on his dubious decisions! This ref is a disgrace, once a rider (especially Nicki) know's he can get away with moves like this they will do it again and exploit it as much as they can. Get rid off this guy before he makes the Gp's an even bigger joke than they are now!!! I don't know if it came across on the sky coverage but you couldn't hear Nicki's interview in the stadium for all the booing!! I am also unsure how he gave Greg the victory over Leigh because sitting opposite the start finish line it was Leigh by a very small margin - regardless of the replay on sky (why is it at a funny angle when they do there slow mo?) and I was supporting Greg!

    Czech Golden Helmet 2007

You'll have a great weekend! The programme is v confusing but you get there in the end! (Keep an eye on the score board but be quick as the info isn't there long!) At Pardubice the track is huge and the best bit is you don't have to get out of your seat when you want a beer as there are sellers that walk around in the crowd with the pints ready, all you do is get your money out! You will find that after the Golden Sash on the Saturday they have some of the first qualifiers on the saturday for the Golden Helmet (Sunday's meeting) - so if you get there on Sunday you won't see the whole event you will come into it 6-8 races into the meeting. The bit about the market traders is very well worth remembering if you show any interest they will hunt you down and try and take you back to their stool for you to purchase the item they will find you believe me! The best bit of advice I will give is wrap up well and take blankets because no matter how drunk you are when you got to the Marketa for the Tomicek meeting you will freeze your kna**ers off!!

    World U-21 Final

Come on Lubos on his home Polish track!
  16. Debbi

    Prague

The reason Lubos was chosen as wild card is that at the time the decision was made Lubos had the highest average of the Czech riders, the Czech federation have to agree as do other boards but none of them seem to have a problem with it do they! But why let the facts get in the way of your obvious dislike of Lubos? I guarantee you wouldn't say any of this to his face but I would be more than happy to introduce you if you want to prove me wrong!

    Welsh Open

With that line-up there are at least two GP riders in it! (Okay both wild cards!) As well as ex-GP rider Smudger.
  18. He wasn't racing but was there and enjoying the cheap alcohol!!! One of the highlights of the Golden Helmet had to be Jason Crump on the podium with what I think was the AUSTRIAN national anthem playing, somebody obviously got their Austria and Australia wrong!!!
