Ozchem Classic On Sunday, March 15
tigerblues replied to Phil's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Gutted it looks like I'm missing this and the Bonanza (), not checked officially so I'll take what Superstar1 says as being right and it looks like some good names are coming up for this meeting, and rightly so. -
Speedway Riders' Benevolent Fund Meeting 29/03

Freddie Lindgren and Tai Woffinden now added. For anyone who hasn't seen these 2 around Owlerton, you are in for a treat, 2 great additions to the line-up. -
The 2009 Premier League Riders' Championship
tigerblues replied to paul84's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Doubt Fisher would be up there, THJ would have a much better chance I think. That said this is wide open, I wouldn't even like to predict the line-up at this stage, few teams have a few riders who could be their team's #1 by the time this meeting comes round. -

No riders atm I don't think but Hancock seems a cert, and probably Woffinden. No idea about the rest yet. -

Two fantastic additions. -
Sheffield - March 2009 Ozchem Classic & Srbf Meeting

I'm in agreement with Sheffieldscot, anything near the standard of the Cracker will be superb but I can see these being even better. Bottom line and the most important detail is that these 2 meetings are for very worthy causes and deserve the best line-up and organisation possible. Let's hope all involved make it happen. -
Wild Cards For 09

Nobody's not getting behind Bomber, but simply being realistic about why he's been included. -
Wild Cards For 09

This sentence sums up what is wrong with how riders are picked for the GPs. Holder didn't qualify and bad luck or not, he didn't get through when he could have. However, to place him below Harris is madness, yet Harris gets the nod. Holder could probably have got one if the Aussie GP was going ahead. As it isn't, having 3 Aussies is pointless to whoever's made this decision. -

Not sure the inclusion of Harris is a good decision but hardly surprised. The other 3 are fair enough to me. -

I know, how dare Ulamek attempt to qualify and then actually get in because he was good enough on the day. Christ if Bomber had done that and got a place in the GP series for next year we'd be loving it. -

He is nowhere near ready. Would be absolutely ridiculous to give him a wildcard at this stage. -

Something to do with the surgery he has either had or needs to have this winter maybe? First I've heard too but that's all I can come up with. -
20th September according to the full calendar (well, nearly) on the Gp 2009 thread

Surely no one (else) believes Kennett would contribute anything either! -

Nicholls, Lindgren, Sajfutdinov, Holder. Nicholls although will probably never win a GP is clearly of a better standard than we've seen in the GPs before, now this side is coming out of him I reckon he should have 2009 and if he does not make the top 8 by merit, he should be out full stop. Lindgren is not a rider I like or rate but I reckon they'll want 2 Swedes and Fredrik is next in line, could make a bigger impact on the series next year. Sajfutdinov, I do not need to justify the choice. Holder said previously he's not ready for the financial side, a rider like him surely in the GPs would get some decent sponsorship and it wouldn't take long for him to start racking up some impressive scores, brilliant rider who deserves a place. I know 2 Brits will be wanted for Sky and Cardiff but no others are good enough. Unless we just claim Crump is British due to being born here and advertise this at every possible oppurtunity (I am joking btw!!) -
Spot on.
-
Yeah all true - problem is they will want 2 Brits, so who gets the nod over Nicholls? After him there's Bomber who proved this year he's not quite a GP rider and after that the gap is huge, for Tai it's too early, can't see Rico adding much to the series and the likes of Kennett, Bridger etc would be well well out of their depth. If Bomber gets the nod over someone such as, I dunno Sajfutdinov, even Lindgren then it's a disgrace, he does not deserve a place, quite frankly.

Congratulations Nicki

What or who would you say is a good world champ? Not challenging your opinion I just don't know what you mean. -
Congratulations Nicki
tigerblues replied to Lis's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Where will it end for Nicki? Can't see him slowing down. Second consecutive world championship, second consecutive awesome season. Of course this also puts him up there with the all-time greats and could go further. Brilliant. Congratulations, has been superb pretty much all year. Fully deserved -
Bydgoszcz-who,s Going?
tigerblues replied to GARY POPPS's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
That's selfish really. Some fans will actually go and they deserve a decent meeting with no problems, something they didn't get to see in Germany. I can't understand how p1ssed off people must be at losing their money but it doesn't mean you need to wish it on someone else. -
Chris Holder For Next Weekend's Gp

Gelsenkirchen Off !
tigerblues replied to smartace's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
NO! It's not Martin Smolinski's fault Ole Olsen hasn't got a clue. And if we're having a new wildcard, which we're not, then bring on Sajfutdinov. Why? Because it's his home track. Oh, and the small matter of beating Holder to the World U21 title. I like Holder but honestly -
Chris Holder For Next Weekend's Gp
tigerblues replied to KrisB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Really? I agree with this. Why all this "to show what he could do next year"? What happened to him not doing the GPs next year even if he was asked? They were his own words weren't they?
