  1. Agreed! Just said the same! Well this is a farce to say the least. Shocking. I feel for anyone who's travelled over. I'd be fuming if it was me. Edit - I also wondered why it wasn't moved to Vojens Olsen eh, where will it end.
  2. Oh deary me. Sounds great

    E L R C -

Well nothing against certain riders who are turning out for their teams when their top men are pulling out, but to say that's supposed to be the best of the EL, that's pretty poor. I'll go for Adams to win.

    World U-21 Final

There's some sensible posts on here regarding Tai. Whilst I've got a little carried away about him myself a few times, as he really is an exceptional talent, I think this is a bit of a reality check and a message to us to back off and leave him to it. It's clear to see he could go a long way in the sport but it's also clear he does have a long way to go to get to that standard, I think sometimes some of us think he's already made it. Brilliant prospect and he is worth getting excited for the future about, but I think it's time to take a step back and let him see what he can do without hampering him with too much pressure. Congratulations to Sajfutdinov and also Holder and Pavlic aswell by the way, would be fantastic to see Sajfutdinov over here soon although I don't think he will be over anytime soon tbh.

  6. Who's Leigh Boujos? The one rider from the line-up I haven't heard of Not going to this but will be interesting to see the result since Machin says he'll be looking to see if any riders could do a job for Sheffield at reserve for next year...

    Chris Harris

What I meant was if he doesn't get back in the GPs another Brit will, really replying to the comment about losing a Brit next year. I can't see which other British riders are deserving of a wildcard, but one will get in.

    Chris Harris

Since no other Brits have qualified I presume he'll get a wildcard, and even if not he'll be replaced with another Brit. Get well soon, Bomber.
  9. Do you know if that was down to grasstrack commitments Paul sometimes has on Sundays or something else?
  10. I was gutted Crumpy didn't come out on top, as to beat Nicki by 12, whilst it is a big ask, it could have been done. I think 16 is too much really. Hope Nicki is world champion as he has been the best rider by a mile this year and fully deserves it but had hoped it'd go right down to the end. Nicki would need to not turn up to lose it now, I think. As for the exclusions, ref was spot on to me. There was definitely some contact between Gollob and Crump and with the track how it was I think it's highly unlikely Crump came off by laying it down. The Pedersen/Crump incident, to me it looked as though Nicki kicked his leg out which is how his foot got caught on Crump's bike and how Crump picked up an injury and Nicki looked to lean onto Crump. Nicki's fault IMO, spot on decisions. Also think Lindgren's exclusion was the right call although tbf to Lindgren he couldn't really avoid it. Dryml was an absolute disgrace and is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the most dangerous men in speedway. Maybe Nicholls should have held back but had that been me I'd have gone and given him what for aswell. Makes you wonder what was going through Dryml's head when he was injured himself as surely he, from an outsider's point of view with his brother and having been hurt pretty badly himself, is in one of the best positions to know the impact of bad crashes, and he nearly caused a pretty bad one then. Idiot Well done Hans who seemed to capitalise on Crump's bad luck in the final, as did Bjarne but that's speedway, Crump was unlucky but s*** happens. People are complaining because of Crump on the rostrum but I think I'd struggle to have any enthusiasm after having a comfortable 1st snatched from him but as I say, that's just how it is in speedway.
  11. Isn't Darcy Ward only about 17? What a rider he looks!

We asked Neil Machin about this because people were on the back straight when we arrived so my dad went and asked Neil if it was open, if it was we'd have stood there, but we got the reply no. Apparently the stadium landlords would charge Machin quite a bit more to open the backstraight, because of health and safety and other obvious reasons it needs more stewards and also toilets which cost a bit to put there.. as you say it really is not worth the hassle, however Machin did say to us that without the backstraight, Owlerton holds 4500 (iirc!) when full, and he said if we ever host an event where we expect over 4500 then the backstraight will be opened. Makes sense if it's not needed I suppose.

Me and my dad discussed the situations with reserves there aswell - not even a big name is necessary but someone who could ride the track and possibly produce a bit of decent racing. Richardson and Taylor aren't anywhere near the standard of the other riders in the meeting.

Rymel was joint top scorer before the semis Agree though that Nemo deserved to come out higher, as did Bunyan. Nope no problem with Ben from us, AFAIK he's done nothing to upset us as Sheffield so I'm guessing it was his very well-known reputation.

I'd say he's a lot better than a second string, he just can't ride Sheffield lol.

Well after a few races gate and go it turned out pretty good, and I have really enjoyed today. Bunyan rode brilliantly and looks totally different to previously this year, fair play.. Loof was way out of his depth and no shock he withdrew.. Tai, well I doubted him at first but as we know with Tai that's a stupid thing to do and he came back in some style and deservedly won it, nice one .. Doyle - started slowly but overall a top nights work.. Compton had a decent first race and not a lot after.. Rymel was solid throughout and deserved his place in the final.. Lawson struggled as expected with all due respect as he never rides Sheffield well but finished off with a win, which btw was a job well done and no fluke.. King was in the mix but never really set the meeting alight.. Ostergaard I was very surprised at as I had him down as a finalist if not potential winner.. Nemo was class, deserved his spot in the final.. Lyons was my tip to win so if anyone wants this Wednesday's Lotto numbers, just drop me a pm not great.. Parker was a little unpredictable but a good nights work, hard to believe the time he's had out and for what reasons in all honesty.. Doolan I expected better of, real shock he didn't make at least the semi.. Karlsson was never really brilliant, as expected in fairness.. Barker was bloody brilliant, what a racer, great to see him riding like that.. and Havvy was, well to put it politely, crap, looks a shadow of his former self sadly. Tai Woffinden - PLRC 2008 - well done young man (although Sky commentary tomorrow will likely be annoying )

What I was thinking but not really fair if any Mildenhall fans are coming up, only fair to have each club represented. Do think Loof will be out of his depth though.

It seems to have come from Henning himself so is likely to be right. I'm not 100% sure on road problems, AFAIK you should be okay, but when there was the problems with the 4s at Worky it was on the Sheff website and the BSPA site and stuff so it'd be worth checking the BSPA site before you leave just in case. Btw - obviously people are confident Rymel will be in attendance but it just made me think - what happens if a rider doesn't turn up for one reason or another, are the likes of Topinka etc who are next in line on stand-by?

Nothing's been said about it. If they can't open it for the Garry Stead benefit meeting then I doubt they will do for a similar size crowd tomorrow. Shame, never stood there but (I take it you have if you're asking) apparently it's a great view.

Oh and according to the latest press release another change to the line-up sees former Sheffield Tiger Paul Lee representing Mildenhall. Depends on his fitness but he will probably do more than Truminski would have.

Depends how you like atmosphere. The Panorama bar (main bar on the home straight, it's lovely inside) is an absolutely superb view if you can get to the front but it's a bit like turning the sound on Sky right down and trying to watch with no sound, and of course you don't get the smell or airhorns etc. I'd recommend the top of the first bend (I've only stood there once for a full meeting though, V Rye House and before the meeting on Thursday but the view is good, you can see everything and get the speed etc) and it's also next to the first bend bar. Hope you enjoy it Haha 4pm.

    Gp Challenge

Next year it's pencilled in for apparently. I reckon it'll be at Coventry or Poole myself, Sky should televise it though IMO.
