Branford has an English mother and I read recently he has pledged his future to GB.

I really rate Boxall and if he is determined can average above 7.50 up to steve really.Holder, and Glanz can improve a top 5 finish will be tough not impossible though.
I agree, I really rate him aswell, so frustrating though as talent is the thing he isn't short of.

I can't remember the concession/kids prices Lioness but I did read over on the Sheffield Speedway facebook page in the last few weeks that adult admission is only £15

I thought you meant Shanes first ried at Owlerton - I'm thinking surely he must have ridden there before 2006!
I'm blonde for a reason lol
Well I hope he didn't now
-
U21 meeting we hosted in 2006 is what I can remember though not sure if that was his first ever visit? Finished 2nd behind Karol Zabik if I remember rightly.

What a line-up so far. So excited to see Holder back at Sheffield, pure class!
-
Ricky is definitely not what I would call a one track pony, and he can ride the small tracks, but he can be inconsistent. Could go either way for him, this move to Plymouth - hopefully he will kick on. I think he has reached his level myself, but if he is going to get any better it will be away from Sheffield IMO.
-
Can't see it mentioned anywhere, does anyone know what the start time is likely to be? Thinking about coming down for this one.
-
Brilliant news for the club and good to see these events at PL tracks too. Well done to all involved up at Berwick.
-
So a two legged playoff final produces 2 of the best meetings people have seen all season and is decided on the line in the 30th heat?
How can ANYBODY knock the playoffs after it entertains like that.
The PL was over (realistically) over a month ago and we've just gone through the motions.
A big well done to both Scunfield and Mildenhall for providing such a fantastic end to the season.
-
Well done Scunny/Sheffield. Sounds like the play-offs deliver the goods once again!
-
Hopefully the weather can make its mind up one way or another, if it's on and off in Sheffield it'll be difficult to decide whether to run the meeting, personally I think they won't call it off unless absolutely necessary.
-
Oh dear the racing was diabolical, 4 passes I counted in the meeting! Gate 4 a graveyard! Strung out riders.
Is that the norm now at Sheffield?
Most definitely not, thank god though because if it was I wouldn't go every week!
For some reason the track was appalling. The forecast we were told was spot on so that's no excuse but in any case we've had more rain than we had yesterday in past meetings yet managed to prepare a decent track. It was shocking.

Would love the Messiah to round off an incredible season for us and his career with a win in this and he has a good a chance as anyone so fingers crossed it comes together on the day. Prediction for the final Doyle, Shane, Screen, Nemo

Congratulations Greg. Never imagined last year that he would be in this position but he's been superb this year, so happy that he's sealed a 2nd title.
Funny that when Emil burst onto the scene there was talk of this "new guard" taking over and all it seems to have done it spur the old boys on
-
Might be behind the times here but just looked on BSPA site which now shows Jason Doyle at 1 and no Chris Neath. If that's right Doyle could do well here.. think he finished 2nd in 2008 when Tai won if I'm not getting mixed up.

Tero Aarnio (Scunthorpe)
Not quite sure how he has qualified ahead of David Howe
Howe and Hall both away on FIM duty on the 25th.

Thinking back to the British semi final I think Barker has as good a chance as anyone
-
Great final, but if you watch it again looks like tapes went up on outside first slightly giving Jonsson & Hampel the advantage.
Didn't watch the replay but Nigel Pearson has just tweeted to confirm this

Nice one, go Darcy! As said maybe playing down the hype by saying he doesn't feel quite ready but if he can put on a good show here who knows? Think he'd be good enough over a full season to do what Holder did last year but in any case it'll be interesting to see how he gets on.

I assume Kennett will get fined, but that and a 7 day ban just isn't enough and I hope further punishment is to follow. I don't have any reason to think he isn't telling the truth but if he is, he has to take responsibility for what his team do. Other riders could easily cheat, apologise and say you had no clue, say you're sacking the member of your pit crew and back to normal in 7 days. That will solve nothing if it's true what riders are saying that he isn't the only 1.
I've no problem with Eddie and it may be that he's one of many, and just the unlucky one who's been caught but he still needs to be made an example of.

Don't get me started on him. ....I'm not a methanol fan. I think his finest moment was calling Darkin our Russian Rocket..........words fail me.
Methanol fans let's go racing if he genuinely believed what he was saying he was the only person in that stadium who thought he saw any good racing yesterday
So, we get £5 off after standing in the rain, the mud and the cold to witness 16 heats of processional racing? That's a p*ss take surely? Aside from the obvious financial con being presented here, whoever's calling the shots should've tried standing on the mudheaps we had on the bends and show some respect for the fans. I felt especially sorry for all the ladies in flat sandals, trying to negotiate the puddles and slippery mud with ruined shoes and brown feet. Looked like Glastonbury where I was!! For god's sake Hemsley, get some mill waste put down before you get your shiny BSPA shoes dirty.
My shoes were the least of my worries (though they are in a bit of a state this morning ), I was doing my best not to end up on my backside! Very dangerous at one point, agree with you they need to do something to control that before someone gets hurt.
We left straight after the semi finals yesterday, probably would have stayed if we'd made the final but difficult watching poor speedway in soaking wet clothes and mud so had enough and went home, in the end it was the right call as we were well on our way up the M1 when I got a text to confirm it had been called off. Can't control the weather, but there are things that could have been done to improve the experience we had yesterday. As above, the conditions we stood in were a disgrace and the presentation just isn't enough to keep people going. It's no good playing (rubbish) music, with someone interrupting every so often to say "just an update.. we're giving it 10 mins". Very disappointed and will be thinking twice about future trips to Leicester until improvements are made.

If Edward's tampered with the silencer to gain an advantage then he's been an absolute idiot and the punishment has to fit the crime, which is cheating, nothing else to call it. A lengthy ban and fine not only punishes him but might make a few other riders think twice. Of course there are still questions over this story, as mentioned if he knew it had been reported it seems odd he would continue to score big points and also let Morris borrow his bike.
As mentioned, I wonder if there are 1 or 2 nervous riders this morning wondering how quick they can get a new silencer sorted. This really does make you question other riders results this season, there are a few riders who have really upped their average and of course they could all be totally innocent but the spotlight will be on riders more than ever to see how they perform in the weeks ahead. Are random checks on the silencers practical? The riders must understand how serious this situation is and will surely be happy to hand their machinery over if they have nothing to hide. Of course this will be time consuming but IF this is being done to gain any kind of advantage by any other rider they surely need to be dealt with in the same way.
The facts so far don't sound good but there could well be more to this story so we'll see how things unfold. Very disappointed that Ed is the one involved here though. He is having a cracking season up to now, and although we're as of yet unsure what advantage, if any he has gained from this his entire season is now in doubt as far as I'm concerned, given the improvement he seems to have made this year. He's never seemed like the type to cheat IMO but the statement from Coventry seems to imply they either think he has deliberately tampered with the silencer, or he has admitted to it. If he is proven guilty then he should be released with immediate effect, but I think pending the disciplinary hearing Coventry have done the right thing so far and it is good to see they don't condone his actions.

Never been to Birmingham before, reading around it seems best to park on the shopping centre car park, will this be available as usual tomorrow and if so is there a certain time speedway fans can use it from/until? Will hopefully find the place ok, looks a fairly straightforward route.
