I loved last nights meeting. Great line up - credit has to go to the Sheffield promotion for such quality. Ricky was a worthy winner against riders who I would certainly class as Owlerton specialists.. Lemo, Parker, Howe, Lyons, Fisher, for starters not to mention Hally and Josh and I've missed some there.. so fair play to him, he worked hard for it and fully deserved it. Special mention and a lot of credit to our Skiddy aswell who looked quick, winning races against some top men, go Hugh

So far Allen, Howe, Parker, Masters, Fisher, Lemo are confirmed, Screenie has been invited but we're waiting on his fitness. The Tigers are mentioned, not sure which riders, but I think the top 5 will more than likely be in.
Latest news is here although no full line-up is confirmed but I don't think that'll be far off. Should be a cracker

Harris was absolutely superb today, and the best rider on show IMO. Proving that he can actually look like a world class rider.. I just wish he could do that every GP! Greg was also superb, fantastic to see both in the top 8 as things stand. Good to see Crump getting a few points on Gollob and Hampel.. Freddie Lindgren was in good form, and he looked much more relaxed than usual.. could well be coincidence but I think he's loving his GP rides without the pressure.
The referee didn't have a great meeting to be fair, stopping the AJ/Crump clash was odd.. and I'm still wondering how Gollob kept his point after taking Holta's leg away.
Pedersen and Andersen were poor, AJ still not in form at all and Bjerre has gone well off it, and looks a shadow of the rider who was at one stage leading the world. The top 8 still looks exciting, close, and with the riders who could miss out and have to rely on a nomination, a big name could well miss out next year, could be pretty interesting.

here start time is 5pm if thats right the bspa should think of the fans for a change, will be bout 8 when its finished, then a long journey home for some fans ,then up early for work monday morning ,cmon bspa think of the paying public for a change !!!
5:30 I believe.. as you say could be a very late finish for travelling fans.

Can't see Lambert's name on the website either, think I counted 14 riders.
Don't know about anyone else, but I really can't wait for this. Personally, I think that's an excellent line-up with most of the riders capable of winning and nobody looks like just making the numbers up. The chance to see Screen, Lemo and Fisher back after their performances at Owlerton already this year make it a meeting really worth attending. Roll on Thursday and thanks to the promotion for putting this together

Just got back, great day today. Really like Peterborough, good track and stadium, not great racing but the track is capable of it.
Thought Sheffield did brilliantly in the circumstances today. To go into the meeting with no reserve, and without our best rider, they all put in maximum effort and in no way disgraced themselves in the final.. no point going over it too much but if only we could have seen what would have happened with the full strength side.. well done to Pepe, Ricky, Richard and Simon
Thought Parker and Masters both rode brilliantly for Somerset.. and I was disappointed for Scunny missing out, I thought they did well and it was incredibly close. Congratulations to the Brummies, Lyons was superb, well deserved winners on the day.

well sheffield were practising last night, we only put a four man team out against edinboro
Looks like we'll be heading down for this one now, can't wait
-
You can pay on the day - we are
Excellent - many thanks.
-
I apologise if this has been mentioned but is this just tickets or will we be able to pay on the gate? Normally booking would be no problem but we won't know until the day before if we can get to this.. thanks in advance to anyone who can answer.

Hampel captain again please

Congratulations to Poland.. tight throughout but I think the best team won. I'm not a big fan of Gollob's but my god that man can't half ride a bike. Hampel and Holta were great back up for him too.
Thought it was a really good meeting, some fantastic racing and close scores and last heat deciders definitely add to that. Iversen's stunning moves to grab a race win on the line was speedway at its best and will stick in the mind for a long time to come.
Despite the result, the Brits tried as hard as they could and were in the mix and in with a chance to the end.. I thought Bomber was absolutely superb and Richardson got some important points in. I was impressed with Tai who did well and I thought he was really in the mix. Shame Scotty wasn't at his best as we could really have got up there, and sadly in this company Steady did struggle but the effort and passion was there and as disappointing as you could find 4th, there was no lack of effort. I did say after Monday Rob Lyon had won me over and he was the man for the job, I was disappointed with his decisions regarding the Joker.. but then hindsight is a wonderful thing, all ifs and buts but you've got to wonder where we'd have got with success in that department.
Thought all refereeing decisions, bar one, were bang on.. heat 3 was all 4 back, every day of the week in my eyes.. but other than that nothing too controversial.

Beggars belief that a British citizen would support a foriegn country over their own. Just because your favourite rider is a Dane doesn't mean you should support him in the SWC, If Australia had made the final there would be no way I would support, Noddy, Darcey and Davey over Harris, Nicholls and Stead.
You should be ashamed. I doubt there would be a single Dane, Pole or Swede cheering on the British team over their own nation.
Absolutely spot on.

Anyone who thinks that a PL club & PL managers shouldn't be anywhere near these big events must have been sick in their laps tonight. Great show. Rob Lyon IS the best man for the job
I've taken some convincing but I have to agree with this.. Lyon's a very good team manager and he's great for team GB.. definitely the man for the job
-
I hope all the 'Woffinden's really an Aussie' crowd were watching. The kid rode his guts out... especially after his crash and he looked so damn proud to be up on the rostrum listening to God Save the Queen'!!! Good on ya Tai....your Dad would be so proud!
Completely agree
-
Enjoyed the meeting, enjoying the result even more, so proud of the lads. Bomber and Scotty superb, Rico got there in the end and did a great job, Steady and Tai did their bit.. all round great team effort Looking forward to Saturday.. we won't be fancied, that's for sure but after tonight, who knows.. race off should be a good one too.
-
EL snobbery! PL track, team manager from a PL track.. a bit too close to slumming it in our inferior league? Unbelievable.
-
My dad said before it was announced this is what he wanted to see and I agreed, the "top 4" was never really going to include anyone else and of the rest, Stead is probably the best call and I'm not 100% sure off the top of my head how he goes at the NA but it should suit him I'd have thought. Absolutely no arguments from me.

Went to Cardiff yesterday for the 3rd time and it was superb as per, but with some good racing thrown in aswell this year. Fantastic winner, Chris you've deserved that all season and are an absolutely awesome addition to the series and long may it continue. Little bit of controversy on track, few handbags thrown so all in all it was a thoroughly entertaining GP for several reasons.
Entertainment was poor though, Ruth whatever her name is attempting to sing the classic that is Highway to Hell was painful and the bloke who sings every year never sounds any better either. The PA was pretty bad on the first bend, upper tier, but not as bad as when I was on the back straight upper tier last year so that was an improvement at least.
Shame the people who can't handle their booze or temper didn't stay at home though because I didn't pay £40 to watch idiots chucking punches and beer all over the place. That mob in the next block to me (few blocks round from the pits on the first bend, as I said above upper tier) want to be ashamed of themselves and as for the stewards.. you'd been intervening all night with this lot yet before the final nobody was there until it had all kicked off like that.. poor show by all involved.
-
It was announced the date for Cardiff '11 will be announced tomorrow night at the Sky meeting.
-
I didn't think last night was a bad meeting, of course congratulations to Bomber who I felt was a deserved winner. Scotty deserved his wildcard and I look forward to seeing him back at Cardiff.. he can just relax and enjoy it this year with no pressure.. he was gutted not to be British Champion again, but I'm sure he'll be up for Cardiff
Ben Barker.. the effort and passion he puts into all his racing is just superb and it really shows on track.. one thing you absolutely can not accuse him of is not trying as you always get 100%. He just wants to race and do his best, what more do people want of him!? I think he did brilliantly last night, whatever people write on here about what he might get up to off track, his attitude to speedway is fantastic and I wish one or two were a bit more like him. Well done Ben
Also, the PL riders. To those who felt ripped off by the line-up.. you all knew the line-up beforehand and nobody forced you to go. Some of the comments about PL riders are just disrespectful IMO. Riders like Clewsy, Frampton, Tully to name a few all qualified so whatever you think, they deserved to be there, it's that simple.

Mine got shoved through with the post, no signature required or anything
But at least they're here, only ordered them last week so in very good time
-
They have a store in Stafford on the Queens Retail Park but I'm not sure if they are Nationide or mainly Staffordshire / Cheshire based ?
Nope as we have quite a few in South Yorkshire, as for airhorns, I'll probably be buying one beforehand this year and if need be I can hide it in my bag, if they're that bothered, they are a bit of a rip-off inside the stadium.
-
Even though we're only a few rounds in, it's looking good now, really starting to get interesting with the top 8 and top 3 looking quite open right now and I hope it carries on right until the end, as good as riders like Crumpy, Nicki etc are, I'm not a fan of one rider running away with it from the word go and the others trying to play catch up all year. Bring it on.
Get well soon Emil aswell. Nasty looking crash and I hope his recovery is as quick and painless as possible.

Was excellent to see him there after and during a tough time for him, to hear him on the centre green thanking people and saying when he wants to be back "skidding on the bike" was even better. Go on Cooperman
