I'd love to know what's really gone on behind the scenes, Because something big clearly has taken place as 91,000k doesn't mysteriously vanish into thin air.

How about a scenario where  a potential buyer for the club, and current owner couldn’t come to an agreement over the sale . The potential buyer had already got his team sorted,  but when the deal fell through the current owner couldn’t or wouldn’t honour the contracts that had been agreed, and the sponsors didn’t get the team they thought were buying in to . Just a thought

Peterborough Utd chairman Darragh MacAnthony has said he will walk away at the end of the current season.Tomalin will be better investing his money there than with the Panthers,at least he will get a quicker return on his finance.        Think he already sponsors Peterborough City,so he's already into football.

    MacAnthony isnt walking away

I'm not overlooking anything.  I've observed that the track could be improved by adding width to the outside.  At which point, various "homers" (people who defend their home track just because it's their home track) appeared, basically stating it's perfect and cannot be improved.  It's far from perfect, when I've seen it on video/TV it's tended to be very fast gate and go and at least one other person on this thread as stated it can be like that.

You seem to say that the landlords see the Speedway as an annoyance, why is that?  (genuine question)

Basically the situation appears to be that, within the rules, Peterborough could probably be widened but the landlords are likely to be against it.

What you and various others need to realise is that if Speedway is to survive the product must improve.  The main key to improving it is to make the tracks the best they can be.

Most of them need to be bigger, wider and have significant improvement in track prep.

Class me as a " homer" if you wish, but I'm a Panthers fan (although it is by far from being my nearest track), largely due to the quality of racing on track, and the excellent viewing facilities. Although the riders enjoy the surface this season, it is probably too good with even grip on inside and outside, to allow for the renowned fence scraping bursts from the back. Widening it would do very little in my opinion to improve the product on show.

If Chris Harris was too expensive what sort of money do you think they would be offering   Iversen . There is no rider suitable out there who will come on Chapman's terms. Looks like Panthers will be competing for the wooden spoon with Kings Lynn.

Money wasn't the issue with Chris Harris, that was the smokescreen for Ipswichs problems

  5. No. The point I was making is it is nothing like the situation with Holder.

Personally i wish Lambert was riding. Newcastle would then have two riders in the final, as Worral is about 5th in the averages.

The precedent was set two years ago when the likes of Danny King were allowed to miss it, to ride in Polish playoffs. I can't remember the BSPA offering an explanation then either.

So why is he not riding then. I presume you are saying he is riding in Poland. Surely it's not difficult for someone to explain!!

  6. He was never listed as taking part. (unlike Holder who was listed as being in the fours until 2 days before hand).

Polish play-offs on sunday which take priority due to the usual rubbish about them being listed first. Same reason Danny King and, someone else, I seem to remember, though can't think who it was missed the PLRC at sheffield two years ago.

Personally I think it should be written into their contracts at the start of the season that they will be required to take part in these meetings regardless, should they qualify. (Injury excepted which would mean they don't ride anywhere else on the day).

The other solution would be to agree dates / stadiums for these fixtures at the November conference thus getting them in the diary BEFORE Poland thus they will have priority.

Holder signed a contract to ride in Poland AFTER he was booked to appear at Peterborough in the fours (and was used in all the advertising blurb). Lambert was NEVER listed as taking part at Glasgow. I assume he said "I'm riding in Poland" when he was offered the booking.

Have you got a fixation with Holder?..

The point I was making was about the lack of information why Lambert is not included in the line up, and why he was NEVER listed as taking part.

  7. The track at the end looked ok, if people were just turning up and saw it they wouldnt have had a clue it was drenched, as we went out the blade machine took off the top dressing and was sludge underneath.just a shame after all the hard work put in for a call off

well I was there, and it looked like a ploughed field. Never was going to go ahead, and should have been called off an hour earlier
