Think he already sponsors Peterborough City,so he's already into football.
MacAnthony isnt walking away

Personally I will just be happy if the announcement is a new club owner

I personally would be surprised to see BWD, Tungate Wright or Nicholls return for varying reasons. Andersen, Harris and Ostergaard certs imo

No, Roscoe has admitted he made a school boy error, and was in fact talking to referee over the radio before heat 14 started

17 hours ago, Stoke Potter said:I'm not overlooking anything. I've observed that the track could be improved by adding width to the outside. At which point, various "homers" (people who defend their home track just because it's their home track) appeared, basically stating it's perfect and cannot be improved. It's far from perfect, when I've seen it on video/TV it's tended to be very fast gate and go and at least one other person on this thread as stated it can be like that.
You seem to say that the landlords see the Speedway as an annoyance, why is that? (genuine question)
Basically the situation appears to be that, within the rules, Peterborough could probably be widened but the landlords are likely to be against it.
What you and various others need to realise is that if Speedway is to survive the product must improve. The main key to improving it is to make the tracks the best they can be.
Most of them need to be bigger, wider and have significant improvement in track prep.
Class me as a " homer" if you wish, but I'm a Panthers fan (although it is by far from being my nearest track), largely due to the quality of racing on track, and the excellent viewing facilities. Although the riders enjoy the surface this season, it is probably too good with even grip on inside and outside, to allow for the renowned fence scraping bursts from the back. Widening it would do very little in my opinion to improve the product on show.

Money wasn't the issue with Chris Harris, that was the smokescreen for Ipswichs problems

No, but you can vote for the worst of the 4. But more worryingly I can vote on any match which benefits my team, even when they are not riding

It's a gimmick, idea, open to abuse, in a supposedly professional sport

Great start to Promoting that Carl. Clashing with Posh and their biggest home gate of the season

It appears his heat 15 celebration was possibly an end of year farewell from him

agreed, but do you know where we can find one?A committed Holder would be a brilliant number one to have.
ip.

Hopefully a Jack Holder free zoneSo a successful 2017 season comes to an end.
What does 2018 bring for the Panthers?

want some sugar with your grapes? At least our top 2 who were injured riding in the final not off skiving in Aus

So why is he not riding then. I presume you are saying he is riding in Poland. Surely it's not difficult for someone to explain!!No. The point I was making is it is nothing like the situation with Holder.
Personally i wish Lambert was riding. Newcastle would then have two riders in the final, as Worral is about 5th in the averages.
The precedent was set two years ago when the likes of Danny King were allowed to miss it, to ride in Polish playoffs. I can't remember the BSPA offering an explanation then either.

Have you got a fixation with Holder?..He was never listed as taking part. (unlike Holder who was listed as being in the fours until 2 days before hand).
Polish play-offs on sunday which take priority due to the usual rubbish about them being listed first. Same reason Danny King and, someone else, I seem to remember, though can't think who it was missed the PLRC at sheffield two years ago.
Personally I think it should be written into their contracts at the start of the season that they will be required to take part in these meetings regardless, should they qualify. (Injury excepted which would mean they don't ride anywhere else on the day).
The other solution would be to agree dates / stadiums for these fixtures at the November conference thus getting them in the diary BEFORE Poland thus they will have priority.
Holder signed a contract to ride in Poland AFTER he was booked to appear at Peterborough in the fours (and was used in all the advertising blurb). Lambert was NEVER listed as taking part at Glasgow. I assume he said "I'm riding in Poland" when he was offered the booking.
The point I was making was about the lack of information why Lambert is not included in the line up, and why he was NEVER listed as taking part.

It seems disrespectful to fans that no explanation has been given by anyone.A fresh news item on the BSPA website today re this event and STILL no explanation of why Robert Lambert is missing - if its legitimate for whatever reason then the BSPA should say!

-
It just seems a bit odd that no one in the know seems fit to inform the paying public why Lambert is not involved in the meeting!!

There will be some excuse hidden away in the archives why he is allowed to miss the meeting. Or maybe just planning another injury that weekend! So why isn't Robert Lambert in the line up? Sorry if it's an obvious answer, but I really don't know????

well I was there, and it looked like a ploughed field. Never was going to go ahead, and should have been called off an hour earlierThe track at the end looked ok, if people were just turning up and saw it they wouldnt have had a clue it was drenched, as we went out the blade machine took off the top dressing and was sludge underneath.just a shame after all the hard work put in for a call off

And then put top rider (Holder} in gate 2 when only needing a 3-3. That's that theory out the window then!Which is of course why Peterborough graded the track for heat 15 to favour the outside knowing that Ippo had 1 and 3 ....of course just to favour "good racing"

They could cheat and not use a dirt deflectorBut what happens if the opposing team don't like a grippy track
-
Lambert made the jump over Heeps in heat 10 which allowed Holder to go clear. Maybe not a bad decision after all!!
I didn't think BWD looked quick all meeting, Only beat Sarjeant, who was dire, ant their reserves all night.

i must have missed that. Was it when he was rolling at the start? He was trying.

How about a scenario where a potential buyer for the club, and current owner couldn’t come to an agreement over the sale . The potential buyer had already got his team sorted, but when the deal fell through the current owner couldn’t or wouldn’t honour the contracts that had been agreed, and the sponsors didn’t get the team they thought were buying in to . Just a thought
