  1. Don’t worry they can ask for the declared team to be reversed. It was never allowed before, at least not for us Aces when we asked but Wolves got it through no problem so I’m sure as a Cartel team all will be spiffing.
  2. Bates v Bates, what a nightmare for the paying public. Let them eat cake they say, yes please you say. uk speedway gets entirely what it deserves if this forum is anything to go by. What a great shame.
  3. It’s a literal bleeding’ miracle that Belle Vue can put on a full top league league program plus Colts, plus PCMT, plus Women’s championship, plus short track, plus British Final in their allotted time. Tale wagging the dog again in Speedway as we pander to the lowest common denominator. If you’re a car crash, no worries we’ll work around you. Jesus, things will never change. Switch the lights off on your way out.

    Ipswich 2023

Correct. Peterborough made a change outside of the transfer window due to a long term injury. Belle Vue were initially stopped (by a rival promoter on the BSPL top table) but cited the previous application of the rule. The SCB agreed that rules should be applied the same and the rule book won out and the Aces could make the signing. In sport playing by the rules is important and the loose application or down right breaking of rules over the last couple of decades has had a big effect on crowds, especially the old school that made up the largest percentage of fans. No rules, no fair competition, no point.

    Ipswich 2023

    Explain?
  6. It’s good to hear a club such as Leicester is a viable business as most on here fear the opposite. Their team is as expensive as others and their crowds are on a par with the rest with similar sponsorship income. Perhaps we now need to be more optimistic about the top league going forward.
  7. Don’t forget, fans do not like an outsider coming in and telling clubs to ride by the rules, so you’ve no chance with financing promoters. This, as with every year it’s been rife again with rules changed or just disregarded to suit certain teams. There is no way the Cartel backed by BSF will release their death grip on the sport. I enjoy the Colts and I’d be more than happy to watch that standard of racing (and I mean racing) every week with local lads who have jobs as well. If they move on to become stars like Dan then good luck to them.
  8. It was 17 million or so I heard from some people though it may have been different people to your people. The club is only kept afloat now as Lemon apparently harvests the organs of our younger fans. Older fans organs feed the greyhounds next door so we get use of their parking. I have to take issue about the hot shot business people as they’re not that daft and they know that Lemmo does indeed run a burger van outside Stockport County. Explains why he was missing from the recent tv meeting and they had to get a lookalike in.
  9. 100% One promoter says do it this way, it’ll make things better. Cartel do their thing (make things worse) and said promoter says cheerio. And repeat………
  10. It isn’t, for some.
  11. I’m happy with him, though I only see him ride at the NSS and the odd GP win that crops up on social media. Don’t watch any other speedway as it’s so tedious and boring, I just don’t have time for it.
  12. Dan is currently 5th in the league on green sheets. Above him are riders like Fricke who I can’t see a current GB rider out performing on the UK circuits. It’s no shame to be eclipsed by riders such as this, Dan needs to keep doing what he’s doing to help the Aces into the playoffs and then it’s all to play for.

    Wolves 2023

I’d do everything in my power to help Wolverhampton get a new track. That’s been the case since the mid 90’s
  14. Apologies for the attempt to throw you out, sometimes Aces fans can be a little over zealous when coming down on anti social behaviour. Glad you stepped in, all with your usual tack to diffuse a situation I’m sure Nice insult at the end of your post btw. Gave yourself away a bit there.

    Plans for next season ?

I get there’s a groundswell of opinion for clubs to work independently against each other mostly to the detriment of the sport but I cannot agree with that thinking, it just doesn’t sit right with me but I accept your opinion. Similarly I cannot agree to the lack of involvement with the RS’s and the ongoing hiring and firing, something the young lads have been very vocal about in the speedway press. The rule book, well stick to it or bin it, don’t be altering it at the drop of a hat to suit certain teams. That’s an opinion I’ll champion to my dying day, for any sport. I accept though that this is a forum where opinions can be aired and disagreements will arise, no matter how baffling some fans thinking is to me.
  16. If those responsible payed out every time there’s a crash at Monmore, the Wolves would have gone into receivership years ago.
  17. As you point out, it’s the football crowd glory hunters that turn up for the play offs and they are soon put in their place by us Aces fans or even removed. I’d like to see the same response at Monmore with the regulars there but it’s just accepted, in fact it’s positively encouraged which is sad.

Rider interviews are ideal for when the tractors are out during a meeting. 5mins should be enough for the track prep which will only take up a third of the interval time. I do know some tracks have a major track change round usually working on the gates to gain a gate and go tactical advantage. I feel this is unnecessary on many fronts and short changes us long suffering fans.

Yes, you will always have some reserves better than others. The promoters could spend time and money on their RS’s to help bring them on to help balance things out. Alternatively they could just bar the best from the RS system.

If we could all work towards providing tracks that suited todays bike and let the riders entertain instead of all the gate & go rubbish. Ideally have customers in surroundings that a 21st century audience is accustomed to with quality food and drink available, in a restaurant set up if the fans wanted that choice. Keep fans entertained during the interval and breaks with games for the kids, rider interviews and maybe a comic mascot whilst the tractors do there 5mins. With regards teams maybe try and return to days when more that half the team are British and better still ex junior team members. Make the rest up with a combination of a big hitter brought in and young riders from around the world that fans can see progress as part of the team. Trouble with all this is it needs to be across the board and done collectively. If only one team ploughed that path it would lead to the petty resentments and jealousies that blight our sport. That would see the rule book disregarded or altered at a whim to penalise a team and see more and more fans drift away from the sport. You’ve got to have hope.

    Sos kings lynn stars

Exactly, people moan when they have a bad meal or a faulty car after a service. If you can do better step up, if not shut up. People need to realise just because they are paying their hard earned cash for something it doesn’t need to be good. Glad we agree with each other.
  22. Just like I did. Another shale souvenir for my defunct track collection.

    Kings Lynn 2023

I hope they don’t get their license revoked due to concerns over the financial management of the club. Wouldn’t be good if they had significant debt but it looks like the actions of other people are the cause of the problems they have faced this season. Deja Vue
  24. The clock at Belle Vue is fully connected to the refs box and riders like Dan use the display when gardening. He looks up at it a few times and generally finishes with 10 or so seconds to spare. The problem, which is typical of UK speedway is how inconsistent it all is. Not all tracks are set up the same and not all refs implement rules the same.
