Blodorn is only about 19 and Brennan is 22,,,so they fit your criteria perfectly being under 24,,,

Yes, you will always have some reserves better than others.

The promoters could spend time and money on their RS’s to help bring them on to help balance things out. Alternatively they could just bar the best from the RS system.

  2. If we could all work towards providing tracks that suited todays bike and let the riders entertain instead of all the gate & go rubbish. Ideally have customers in surroundings that a 21st century audience is accustomed to with quality food and drink available, in a restaurant set up if the fans wanted that choice.

Keep fans entertained during the interval and breaks with games for the kids, rider interviews and maybe a comic mascot whilst the tractors do there 5mins.

With regards teams maybe try and return to days when more that half the team are British and better still ex junior team members. Make the rest up with a combination of a big hitter brought in and young riders from around the world that fans can see progress as part of the team.

Trouble with all this is it needs to be across the board and done collectively. If only one team ploughed that path it would lead to the petty resentments and jealousies that blight our sport. That would see the rule book disregarded or altered at a whim to penalise a team and see more and more fans drift away from the sport.

    You’ve got to have hope.

A genuine  poster who is worried  about  my club going  to the wall people  are quick to to be critical of people  but if you think you can  run a speedway  club go ahead

Exactly, people moan when they have a bad meal or a faulty car after a service. If you can do better step up, if not shut up. People need to realise just because they are paying their hard earned cash for something it doesn’t need to be good.

Glad we agree with each other.

  4. I hope they don’t get their license revoked due to concerns over the financial management of the club.  Wouldn’t be good if they had significant debt but it looks like the actions of other people are the cause of the problems they have faced this season.

They would have a fit for purpose R/R operating model?

They would have less riders per team to create a surplus of unattached "subs on the bench"?

They would stop running meetings on nights when they 100% know key riders who should be there are already booked to be elsewhere, or, are likely to be elsewhere as they have made it clear at the start of the season that they are pursuing individual ambitions, eg GP Challenge qualifying, U21, U19 domestic and world qualifiers etc?

They wouldnt be agreeing so readily to meetings where they know they would be allowed to improve their team by bringing in a better rider on a higher average, or a better rider at a specific track?

They wouldn't have such ridicule based on much of the nonsense and manipulation that is allowed to pervade by having guests in the first place?

The sport may be taken seriously by the wider media and fans?

Sponsors may come on board to support credible sporting contests?

Ex fans who still closely follow the sport may start to return?

Whilst we might like the “subs on the bench” idea as apposed to the guest system, it’s just not going to happen. The powers that be rewrote the rule book to stop it when teams are faced with injuries, at a time when the sport in this country gets its greatest exposure. It’s also evident, given posts on the subject that BSF are dead against the idea and prefer guests.

  6. If Andersen, Cook, Worrall, Basso, Iversen and Jenkins can bag 35 between then like last time and Vadim gets the 12 he scored against us at the NSS then it might not be as cut and dried as people are thinking. Since then they’ve only won and suffered a narrow defeat at home and that due to IRR for Basso. I think we’ll get the bonus

*apologies to the forum for using factual past performance data as an indicator towards expected performance.

  7. UNFORTUNATELY we have just been informed that due to significant damage to the water pipe, near our pit gate, we will be unable to safely run the speedway event on Thursday evening.

It was hoped replacement parts for the pipe would be with us after several massive hits from Bank Holiday Monday’s stock car event. However, these parts will now not be with us until Friday morning.

Belle Vue are disappointed to have to postpone the meeting against Poole, but with rider and public safety always the most important thing, we have had no option but to inform the speedway promotion of the situation.

A new date will be released as soon as possible.

I love that. Especially with Robert: “thanks we’re given for their assistance”.

It was a bit more than that, wasn’t it? “Thanks for coming in as a ringer on an out-dated average and winning us the league. And more thanks for b***ering off after only three meetings to save us some cash”!

Christ, what are you on about. He replaced Max, you know (probably not) this years Warsaw GP winner and world pairs champ who missed the Torun GP (which he had won before) due to his injuries. Even if Robert had been at Kings Lynn then he would have b***ered off after FOUR meetings not three due to the late stage of season.

Why talk such BS as you make yourself look a complete d***?

    Thick as……..

Yes this is always how BSPL rules work. Some promoter thinks they've been 'cheated' and whines like a six year old until BSPL change rules without considering knock-on effects of rule change. In this case I think it was because riders who missed part of 2021 season still had 2019 results hanging around in their green sheets.

    (also see changes to IRR)

Or 2018 in the case of some and these will hang over into next season. 2018-2023 crazy but cartel backed. Also if it’s true about the last meeting not counting towards averages, what’s all that about aside from cartel supreme wanting it?

A normal fixture ran during the season but not counting. That’s a difficult sell even for BSF.

Selling tickets for an event that’s knowingly not going to happen is at the least “immoral” & most probably “illegal”  but being speedway I’ll settle for “incompetence”.  Not a lot I can do other than decide not to buy the 6 season tickets we intended to do for next year. They just don’t deserve that kind of support.

Being ultra fair both promotions would have known Lambert wasn’t riding because of the line up website used by officials and Referees etc in the lead up to the meeting., notwithstanding that even out of courtesy BV would have let Lynn know he had twisted his ankle and was injured. (I seriously doubt that anyone on this forum honestly believes this $hyte but hey ho let’s play the game anyway)

The fact that Neither club said anything is extremely poor.

Agree absolutely and the fact Belle Vue capitulated to Stars request to keep schtum is a disgrace. Are we part of the cartel now? Wonder what reciprocal back scratch we’re entitled to now. Grim.
