Elite League Best Pairs
bazaar3 replied to hyderd's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Agree with what Nobby said earlier. These BSPA events lose all crdibility to me when they are hosted at a track which is in the EL. For christ sake, their are about 20 other tracks in the country to choose from and the exactly the same can be said for Workington when they host the 4s. The ELRC is corectly being held at Birmingham and I don't know why the pairs can't follow suit.... I think the meeting will be easily won by Belle Vue followed by Swindon and who knows who will finish third probably Coventry on who they stick out. -
Have to agree. Like Rosco, but don't think he is quite ready for the role tactically and obviously the BSPA and myself actually amazingly agreed on something....

Can't believe I have missed 20 odd pages of thread...where do I begin? By to shazzybird and saying 'we told em so'. Plenty more responses tomorrow especially to Sir Honealot and people who think Norris should be in charge as he as the tactical nouse of Guy Fawkes.... -
Lynch? Tuners? Bottle?
bazaar3 replied to spook's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
So if a rider who has won a GP and been in the GP's for the last few seasons is not world class, wtf do you call world class.... I suppose he is shy of world class like a Johnno or a Howe... -

Individual World Championship Qualification
bazaar3 replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in International World of Speedway
Very disappointing that mostly the old guard who have been there and done that have got through to the challenge and mainly are the favourites. Hopefully next season we will see young riders like Holder, Korniellesson, Batchelor, Kennett and Safutdinov make the challenge final. -
Individual World Championship Qualification

Very disappointing that Stead, Kennett or King couldn't get through against riders of the caliber such as Jedrezak, Nermark and Davidsson who are riders they can beat comfortably on other tracks. Gutted for Watty, he would have won this. -
Boyceys Farewell
bazaar3 replied to izzyidiot's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Well done to Boycey and Becky for putting in a lot of effort for a great farewell meeting Just a few key points to make about the meeting: Racing as SS said wasn't at it's best but there were some superb rides especially Holders pass on the last bend coming down the straight to take the victory which got the crowd going. Those mini bikes were amazing and all 5 riders made me laugh riding them. I wonder how much they are because I really want to buy one. Great to see Rosco, Sam and Craig race against each other....Sam I think is still an excellent rider and should carry on going. Jason Doyle was excellent and should be immediatly signed by Poole for next season Jordan Frampton beat Lee Richardson (yes the GP qualifier) by about 50 metres and yes Lee was trying even if his bikes weren't. Jason Crump was great and in a class of his own on the track. All in all, even thought the racing was at times processional it was great to see a rider who I remember from my early days of watching get the standoff he deserved. Craig Boyce will always be a true Pirates Legend. -

Well done again to Scott Nicholls on being the man.... Great performance from Kennett and just goes to show that what I said last year was he would have beaten Howe at any neutral track except Wolverhampton and even Lanham got a better score than Howe did and Stead again in the mix but not winning anything... Woffinden is exceptional and is the best young rider we have produced probably ever. Did Screen get third in a BF when he was 17?. This guy will be challenging for honours at WU21 level. -
My knowledge of speedway around the world is getting better, but if this was one of the quarters, I think it seems alot easier than the other 3. If Kevin Wolbert and Adam Roynon been in this one I think they would have got through IMO.

Always like these kind of meetings as you can usually get an idea who is still a force or who is a new force. No idea how many riders go through but I will think the top 8 in winning order will be: Watt Klingberg Howe Kennett Dobrucki Smolinski Kroner Max Franc ®?

I have to say I agree with Authorised. Regardless of last seasons averages surely this seasons start is how to assess a rider and Allen has scored a lot heavily than King and indeed most of the Brits even though he was poor at Poole on Wedensday. Makes no sense and I would like to hear an explanation from Jim why he didn't pick Allen. I am glad he picked mostly youngish riders and regardless of how far they get at least they get some more experience. Don't get me started on the timing of the British Final....

On that basis again, does that mean Freddie Eriksson will be lining up for Poole... -

Rubbish. Would you be saying the same theory had any of the other 3 riders won especially Nicholls. -

The money is an incentive but it's to the prestige. Same as the GP's. No rider will tell you he is in it for the money. He wants to be the World No 1 and be in the record books. If money was everything to Nicki, having won 4 races on the trot, he would have started favourite so why agree with the other riders to split??? He could have said no, but he didn't because money came second.... -

So what...so they decided to split the prize money. It was still a true run race. Did you see the battle for 2nd, 3rd and 4th behind Nicki. At the end of the day and quoting an old quote from Gary Havelock...most riders aren't really in it for the money, they are in it for the competition and being the best speedway rider thay can be. The money is irrelavent but it is part and parcel which they ahppily accept. -

What has this got to do with Nicki doing whatever he wishes to do with his money. Are you sure your not going on about the cmoplications of his P45 at Eastbourne.... -

bazaar3 replied to Saint Rob's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I cannot believe some of the idiocy of some of the fans who come on the forum. For those who don't understand english. Nicki Ps website 'THE RIDERS decided to split the money AND it has nothing to do with the PROMOTION, THE BSPA, THE SPONSORS or MATTS BANK MANAGER. It's Nicki's money and he can buy 5 yachts, send it to Rwanda or gamble it on camel racing for all I care but he obviously hasn't thought about the consequences of posting this on his website, even though it sounds like a friendly gesture all round it makes this meeting look a sham. But who cares....whats done is done. No good complaining about people, you can't change his mind. -

Not sure where you got your figure there from Starman2006 since I was told that the stadium with everyone in it (complying with health and safety blah blah) can hold about 6000, well at least that's what I heard from someone who told me what Mike had told them.
