quite an enjoyable meeting... nice to see anders and bjorn back. anders posted a time of 64 seconds in his first heat, me thinks if he got his own bikes over and became race fit he would still be a heatleader bjorn wasn't as impressive, struggled to slide the bike properly but he hasnt rode here for 7-8 years. nice to see them back though. emil started well with a couple of good rides, being on the pace and mixing it. his last rides though he didn't really look interested. was on a wato bike i think. best rider on show was michal, what a ride in his last race to chase down chris neath and fly past him on the home straight, absoloutely brilliant. tom hedley rode well as well which was pleasing. a poor crowd though. but it was nice to see a few old faces back over there. a good afternoon

Wasnt too bad a meeting. Cunningham was cracking IMO... some of the passes he made were great and I would be happy to see him in a Newport jacket after 12 matches instead of one of the reserves... was also the last person to leave the bar, barring us lot of course Doyle wasn't as good as people think he will be this year... 5 point EL average... yeah right, be lucky to average 4. Howe was his usual great self... tell you what if he doesnt have a good year in 07 then I wouldnt be surprised to see him Newport number one in '08. Burza... had three wins, his first gifted by a Doyle EF... rode well though. Simmons... fair play he rode very well and making the final was a good effort. Hope he rides like that for the Wasps! Atkin... well he was awful really. Beaten by Sam Hurst. Had a terrible meeting, hope he picks things up next week! Schramm... started poor but switched bikes and got 6 from 3. Rode well at the end and will be a good signing for this season. Wizzer... didn't look too quick and should of done a bit better. Fell in his last ride and reports suggest a wrist/thumb injury... lets hope its not bad. Hurst... beat Atkin and shut Burza out in one race... apart from that didn't really do much. Warwick... had a poor afternoon and was beaten well easily by Simmons... didnt impress at all! Hawkins... same can be said for him. Didn't look good really.. think he had one good ride. Bargh... was awful until he pulled out with engine trouble. So wasn't too bad a meeting, with rumours going round. Cunningham rumoured to be in after 12 matches for one of the reserves

Saturday Night: Drink up in Cardiff, be there about 2 o clock, then to the GP, then into Newport town again afterwards Sunday: Chill out with a couple of pints over the Welsh open Hopefully Roo can get time off work and get his Cumbrian arse down for a 3 day drinking extravaganza

been to telford three times and its the day out that does it for me, the racing is never any good it consists of riders making mistakes. the buzz is going with friends to the event and having a good day out, the racing is awful.

It says Anders is ready to ride Get Wato, Smarty, Anders, Emil Bjorn etc to ride. Would be worth getting Bobby Eldridge back on borrowed equiptment, OK he would probably be crap but its the fact they are back! Can't see Smarty coming all the way over for it, though apparantly he will ride in Wato's testomonial. Could be a potentially great meeting and a great day. Would be good to make a night of it and have a get together in the bar after it.

Good meeting, thought the crowd was down on previous years. The Pole tryed his heart out to be fair and with more knowledge of the track would be good. Gave Neathy some hassle a couple of times, was on the pace, good gater and had a nice style with seemingly a good set up. His style IMO was almost like Mads Korneliussen. I think on 8 he would be a very big gamble to be honest with you, but maybe would pay off. Personally, though he looked good, I wouldnt sign him on 8.00 One man on a mission was Glenn. Was flying today IMO and out to impress. Definately think he is after a team place. Not sure it will happen. No one has forgot about the days he was at Newport, but could be a points machine at home. Have we got time to mess around waiting for the Pole to develope?
