    Newcastle 2015

No surprise to see Ludde and Anton back. Two riders who want to ride for Newcastle. I'm sure Anton will do a solid job for the Diamonds, and as for Mr Lindgren, if the enigma can ride consistently all year, he should end up top of our averages. If.

Steve Worrall hasn't signed for anyone yet. Does anyone know why he left last year?

    Newcastle 2015

Hope it's not true about Robbo. If not this team would do for me, exactly 42.50 Robson 7.56 Kerr 7.54 Lindgren 7.12 Garrity 6.75 Manzares 6.02 Rose 4.15 Neilsen 3.36
  6. If it's called off early, Northumbria Cycle Speedway will still be holding their meeting at Cramlington Sports Centre. So if you fancy some 4 lap action, pop along from 1.00 onwards. Three meetings will be run with Edinburgh, Glasgow and Northumbria.. If speedway is on, you can still get to Brough in time. Free entry and parking.

    Diamonds V Scorpions 29/6/14

On the same note Steve, we at Northumbria Cycle Speedway, had a stand at the entrance on Sunday. We were hoping to attract some new younger riders. We saw almost everyone who came in, and were shocked at how few teenagers were there. Speedway in general cannot hope to survive on the support of the more "mature" supporter alone.

    Diamonds V Scorpions 29/6/14

Forecast is decent, no more rain expected. Please say hello, Northumbria Cycle Speedway Club with have a couple of bikes on show tonight. Fancy a go? We will answer all your questions.
  10. The Newcastle website says that Lewis does not need surgery. Damage is to the ligaments, and physio. has already started.
  11. Broken collarbone for Lewis Kerr.
  12. No rain in my part of Newcastle, fingers crossed.

Ipswich Vs Newcastle Monday May 5th 2.30pm

Let's not forget Newcastle had to ride with 1 rider in two heats, and Chris Schramm was leading heat 2 until his exclusion.

    Mark Lemon

I reckon Mark still has at least one good year in him, I expect the Tiggers to be pleasantly surprised.
  15. Poor night for ref Phil Griffin. Three questionable "all 4 backs", Doyle(2), Worrall(1), stopping a race after half a lap for an unsatisfactory start. Letting the tapes go up instead of pressing the green light, not to mention a lengthy phone call from George English, I don't think it was about the weather. Robert Lambert impressed in his laps after the meeting. I for one would love to see him here next season.
  16. Heavy drizzle just arrived as forecast. Should be easing off up to 3.00 if correct, and hopefully the meeting will go ahead.
  17. Best of luck to the Diamonds (and supporters) tonight.
  18. Any hope that Plymouth would challenge Newcastle were dashed after heat 4 and everyone had ridden once. Newcastle were 17-7 up by then. The t/r came in heat 5 and the only away rider to make an impression, Mikkel Bech took six points. All too often the away riders were half a lap behind and Bech apart it was poor stuff. It was hard watching Mark Lemon. the former Diamond favourite struggling round Brough, and riders like Palm Toft and guest Starke who have had good meetings here were never close. Diamonds of course scored heavily, although thanks to Beck, only Worrall was unbeaten. Lewis Kerr continued his wonderful season with a paid 16. Anton Rosen continued his improvement, only Chris Schramm missed the party, although was in the thick of the action, no more so than when he rode up the safety fence after a tight second bend, ending up speeding across the centre green scattering the track staff. 64-29.
  19. Beautiful cloudless sky. Looking for a double win today. Northumbria Vikings at home to Heckmondwike in a cycle speedway 1st Division clash at 2.00, and 3 points for the Diamonds at Brough.
  20. Very good win for the Diamonds tonight (46-44), Lewis Kerr tops the scores with 13+2. Well done mate.
  21. Anton Rosen rides for Piraterna in the Swedish Elite League. This week's Speedway Star has him scoring 10+1 from 6 rides in the home meeting against Indianerna This was better than Przemyslaw Pawlicki, Jonas Davidson, Matej Zagar and Piotr Pawlicki. So he seems to be no mug. George English said last night, he hopes Anton will be at the track next Sunday for some practice before his debut at Workington on August 24th.
  22. I like much of the crowd had pencilled Lewis in heat 14. It will be interesting to read Georges' programme notes next week. The enigma that is Ludvig Lindgren appeared again. After a terrific performance at Edinburgh, he returned to novice mode. Too slick for Robbo. Somerset were well served by Doyle, Morris and Grajczonek, they certainly deserved a point, Diamonds gifted them the other.
  23. Very interesting post. About time we had a win at the EWR.
  24. Late start for this thread. Plymouth come to toon with a much stronger line-up and should provide the home team with plenty to think about. It will be interesting to see how they do at Berwick tonight. Unfortunately the weather may have the last word, with light rain forecast all day. One meeting that will take place is at Cramlington Sports Centre, when Northumbria take on Hull in Northern Cycle Speedway meetings for Division 1 and 2 points. Racing begins at 2.00. Pop along if you can. Free entry and parking.
