i reckon the track is getting wet as we speak
-
not a lot of rain so far but the radar suggest a steady line of showers on the way.
-
has it rained in swindon today?
-
sorry i thought it was later than heat 6. if it is heat 6 then i'm glad i didn't risk going
-
at least punters will get back in if they can face going to the rerun

rain looks like its arriving early. was considering going to this one what with it being a tenner but the brum line up looks mediocre at best. http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ I imagine they will probably get through far enough to swallow the tenner as it only looks light until later...

I went last night and thought the racing was OK. Not much passing but some close racing. Shame about the mismatched reserves, it really spoilt the meeting for me. Why didn't the Aces put a rider off double points or was it too late? I haven't really kept up-to-date with the rule changes.

Speedway should be about a night's entertainment, who ends the season winning the play-off farce isn't really that important is it? Elite league speedway isn't credible enough to be considered a serious competition.

as a neutral attending this meeting i was hoping for some close racing but belle vue never really competed. i can accept that bike trouble happens but on a number of occasions riders failed to make the 2 mins despite not being involved in the previous race. surely they have 2 bikes? also the racing at swindon once more fails to excite. the track is in pretty good condition but does not lend itself to overtaking which makes gustafsson's pass of worrall in the final race all the more impressive. how come it takes til late in the meeting for the racing to really come to life. also not sure the new race format is really a step forward, rather it more reflect the weakening of the league, allbeit its good for getting younger british riders experience in the top flight. not sure i will be returning to blunsdon anytime soon unless the opposition are really strong...

what is the track made of? it looks like sand -
doolan has gone to redcar http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.16944 or is this not worthy of a mention, with all the lively debate going on in this thread! i wonder if he was part on a salary and ipswich wanted to offload. ive seen him ride only a few times and he looks woefully slow for a supposed PL heatleader most of thetime.

half of the tracks in the uk are junior tracks, one of the reasons team gb does not do well on the world stage -

logistics. Joker puts entertainment above pure sport. 1 Reserve should be allowed IMO, perhaps with 1 reserve race with drawn gates to even the gate allocation up. You could argue that no reserves encourages you to fence a rival rider in the early heats. The slick track is certainly a concern entertainment wise but its the same for all teams? -

4 of team gb's 6 inside gates are in the last 6 races so happy about that. Sweden get 7 inside gates, teab gb 7 outside. -
