  1. Weekend has just became free so just booked Sat morning Stanstead to Wroclaw and Sunday morning back with Ryanair it was cheaper last night but what the heck! Train up from Wroclaw is always good. Lets hope JK is confirmed as wildcard.......
  2. They fill the back straight to ensure it looks full the the TV. Other blocks will be released for sale when they have sold enough of the other sections.
  3. Thats a good question we are trying to sort out various trips but could do this the dates being fully confirmed. Normally the FIM website should be correct which is currently 507/01 25/04/10 FIM SPEEDWAY UNDER 21 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QR 1 Neustadt Donau 507/02 08/05/10 FIM SPEEDWAY UNDER 21 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QR 2 Lendava 507/04 15/05/10 FIM SPEEDWAY UNDER 21 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QR 4 Gorican 507/05 15/05/10 FIM SPEEDWAY UNDER 21 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SCANDINAVIAN QR 5 Holsted 507/03 15/05/10 FIM SPEEDWAY UNDER 21 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QR 3 Gdansk 507/07 26/06/10 FIM SPEEDWAY UNDER 21 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINAL 2 Landshut 507/06 26/06/10 FIM SPEEDWAY UNDER 21 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINAL 1 Krsko 507/08 17/07/10 FIM SPEEDWAY UNDER 21 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL 1 Gdansk 507/09 14/08/10 FIM SPEEDWAY UNDER 21 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL 2 Daugavpils 507/10 02/10/10 FIM SPEEDWAY UNDER 21 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL 3 Pardubice you could try emailing speedway-loko@inbox.lv to see when they think they are hosting it. Grodzki Andrzej is the FIM jury offical for that meeting also maybe someone here has a contact for him?
  4. Yeah, when it was first announced that was the time but it seems to have disappeared from all the media info.

    Wildcards 2010

The FIM were informed on 26th October who was chosen. Just needs ractification by all parties involved. I would expect the current top 10 and qualifers must also commit by this date. Announcement must be soon....

    Wildcards 2010

....so no worse than Harris and Nicholls this year then Having said that I do not believe he is ready for will ever be for GP and if true am surprised by the decision. Maye Rico and Harris turned the chance down? After the demise of Slovenian GP that appears to have ruled out Matej which is a crying shame bit I am surprised Pavlic did not get it with the advent of the Croatian GP and all the money that is behind him. Eddie is nowhere near a top 16 rider in the world but if he is picked then i wish him luck and would expect him to but a lottery ticket for this weeks draw!!! 4 wild cards should be: No brainer in Lindgren and Andersen Tai or Richardson as the token Brit. Zagar, Pavlic or Protasiewicz (Spelling) (based on 3 polish GPs and GP Challenge result).

    Gp Tracks 2010

Shame Lativa and Slovenia have disappeared off of the calender. I hope this is the start of a rota of gp tracks, ie One year Slovenia and next Croatia and so on. Also rotating between the two Italian tracks. I would have thought a Russian GP will appear in 2011 and the series expanded to 12 gp's.
  8. People are saying Laguta, what about Pavlic if Croatia get a GP next season?

    Jim Kempster's Velocette Ktd

Looking at the photo it looks like it is set in Ian Paterson's private collection at Loanhead in Scotland. Sadly i do not have a contact for him, but he is a very nice bloke who has a great collection.

I thought they all did really well especially Chris Louis.
  12. I agree. I was saying this last night. It would be a good way of blooding younger riders. As someone else said allow them 1 ride per session and upto a maximum of 5 rides.
  13. Exactly, Bomber will get a place as he is one of the few entertaining riders in the GP series this year. I bet if someone was to work out and the passes for / against in the opening 3 gps then Bomber would be top of both lists. Tai may put bums on seats but Rico may get the nod if if still has his big sponsorship following that benefited BSI when he was in the series before. I am sure BSI would love Pepe Protsiewicz to qualify again due to his sponsors input into GP speedway.
  14. Although i agree with what you are saying in priniciple, without commercial sense there will be no GP series in places like Cardiff, Parken and Ullevi. From speaking to one of the old BSI lot when they were in charge at Reading they had data that showed that British based fans spent the most per head of any fan and the most willing to travel abroad to GP's. The Polish were the biggest volume of fans but actually spent little. I doubt BSI could risk having no Brits involved, the same could be said for Danes, Swedes and the Poles. I would rather the GP series was the best 16 riders in the world but i do not believe the GP Challenge offers that. Rarely do the best riders qualify only the ones that performed on that given day. Seeding riders can soften this. However I would prefer a qualifying system that involved a minimum of 5 meetings the season before across the continent on a variety of tracks both big and small and based on the same GP scoring system to condition riders and truely get the best. Previous years top 6 riders are excluded from having to race in this qualifer and if they fall out of the top 6 the following year they get seeded the following year to stay in the series but then have to race in the qualifers and qualify or finish back in the top 6 to remain in the series.

    Gp Rider Draw Number

I understand that many of the riders were sceptical about the 'Live draw from Geneva' but would it not be better to have a press pre-GP season launch, say two weeks before the first GP where the riders draw in position order for the first GP starting positions. Then after each GP has finished the riders draw in meeting finishing order for the starting positions at the next GP. The wild card does not get a pick and ends up with the unpicked starting position.

    Czech Gp

Three of us are flying in from East Midlands Saturday morning, hope to catch up with some members during the afternoon and evening. How likely is it that is will be a sell out? I was thinking of trying for standing tickets.

    Leszno Gp-flight To Poznan

Wizzair are expanding their routes still and are still making the right noises about the future: Central and Eastern Europe’s largest low cost airline Wizz Air has announced that it will expand its Hungarian operations by operating a new Airbus A320 aircraft to increase passenger capacity, and adding new routes from its Budapest base from April 2009. The new Airbus A320 will be Wizz Air’s third operating aircraft from Budapest Airport. The Airbus’ additional capacity will be put to good use helping increase the frequency of flights on the current network, opening new routes to Madrid and Naples airports, and re-launching routes to Barcelona and Oslo Torp airports. Wizz Air’s capacity will increase by 30% in 2009 as a result, compared to like-for-like figures in 2008. Jozsef Varadi, Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air commented: "Wizz Air's expansion in Budapest provides travellers with more low cost travel options. Given the downturn in world's economy, this is what people need more than ever. By expecting further consolidation in our markets as soon as this winter, Wizz Air also stands ready to take over passengers from airlines that might fail in their uphill financial battle. Now Wizz Air is offering flights from Budapest to 16 all year round European destinations, from Norway to Spain, from the UK to Italy. Our summer holiday routes for 2009 will come on top shortly." Over the next year, Wizz Air plans to fly some one million passengers in and out of Hungary – that’s 30% more than 2008 figures. The airline will operate 72 weekly flights, covering 15 Hungarian routes by April 2009. I spoke recently to a friend in the industry and he believed Wizzair were in a better position then Easyjet.
  19. Yeah, the day before they announced the lineup I got the Soosh to sign the tickets, or was it a medical certificate last night
  20. Received email from grennticket.it Gates open at 6pm meeting starts 8pm. Which for TV schedule probably means first race will be 815pm. Looking at the draw it should be an interesting start to the GP.
  21. 2nd bend. I think the GP challenge should be modified to include the GP finishers No7-No15 They meet the top 7 from a GP challenge semi and the top 4 go to the GP's and IMG then nominate 5 of their choice.
  22. It looked like he gated 1st, either caught a bump or had an engine failure and skated across the track and clicked the fence and fell.
  23. Three gating tarts (to a lesser extent Bjerre) make it to the GP series, in theory they should enhance the series as the likes of Crump, Nicholls, Jonsson, Hans, Freddie, Holta will have a field day passing them, as they are much better quicker riders over four laps. All have the ability to have the odd good GP but i would expect the two Poles to drop out after a year. Real losers could be Holta (unless top 8 finish, but winning a GP he may get a wild card) and Bjarne who i feel are better than the riders that will replace them. 2 from Nicholls/Holta/Lindgren (depends who get 8th), plus Harris should be certain wildcards, leaving one place up for grabs. Maybe add a Russian if they go with a GP there? Fairplay to Bjerre never in the semi, Watt fails to arrive and he gets promoted and carrying an injury and qualifies. He deserves his chance.
