Pride Of The East
rusky replied to cityrebel's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Not a good call if you are a 7 year old who was desperate to go to some Speedway at Lynn, AJH. Unfortunately speedway at Lynn is no longer family friendly ( for family read schoolchildren), with meetings not being run at a time that kids can go. Its been really impossible to attend this year, what with cancellations & postponements during school holidays, and no speedway at Lynn on any bank holidays. We actually managed to get to Lynn once this year, which is a major disappointment to us all here. -
Postspook, on 15 August 2010 - 01:24 PM, said: holta always seems to be on ultra fast engines.... i'm getting concerned with the consistent head and shoulders speed of a couple of riders above all others every gp..... the difference between them and the rest seemingly equates to them having perfect bikes, perfect engines, and perfect mechanics ........... nothing is so consistently perfect As previously mentioned, Holta has had his engines tested this year, and they were found to be significantly under the upper limit. I believe his engines have been tested on more than one occasion this year. Flemming is just doing a good job I guess !!

Flemming Gravesen GM I believe. His engines were measured in previous rounds and found to be way under size.....

What are ytou going to be doing at the showground at half past midnight (12:30 AM)?

Whose Idea Was It To Use Kings Lynn ?!?

No Rob, No practice in the 2 weeks preceding the FIM meeting, at the track hosting the meeting according to the FIM rules, and no meetings in the week before I believe -
Line Up Wm-qualification Round 1 Fjelsted/dk 12.06.2010
rusky replied to Jacqueline's topic in International World of Speedway
Sort of answered my own questions by looking at Suplemenray regs Fjelsted which suggests that the Jury should be Ila Teromma (president), Jorgen Jensen from the DMU, and Jim Lawrence. It also states that any protests regarding the eligibility of any competitor or machine must be made before the commencement of official practise - that would be a little difficult if he didn't attend practise wouldn't it !! -

2 questions if you don't mind Spanner47 ? Do you know if his bike had been through the pre-meeting scrutineering (rather than the practise scrutineering), and do you know who were on the Jury ? -
Line Up Wm-qualification Round 1 Fjelsted/dk 12.06.2010
rusky replied to Jacqueline's topic in International World of Speedway
Given the meeting was in Denmark, I'm guessing the machine examiner was Danish, and the problem was picked up in the pre-meeting scrutineering, I'm guessing as well that he was told that it didn't conform to the rules and was told to change it. In theory it should of been bought up at the Jury meeting as well. -
Danish Grand Prix 05/06
rusky replied to rocketrod's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Unlikely, as the FIM contractor for Cardiff (as well as Gothenburg, Copenhagen & Vojens) in terms of track installation & preparation is Speedsport A/S, as it has been for the last few years. -
Leszno Gp - 24th April 2010
rusky replied to GregM's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As I understand things, Tony O is effectively letting the local track guys prepare the way the tracks the way that they think best. There is a fairly substantial list of requirements from the FIM for all tracks in terms of equipment neccessary to prepare the race track, and indeed maintain it. I believe that this is a different list than that held in previous years. I'm not sure whose responsibility the man made tracks are as there are no 'local' staff for these. I believe that speedsport A/S have the rights to build & prepare these tracks, with the FIM, but I could be wrong. -
Don't totally agree with that summary Conkers. From where we stood (Per landed about 2 metres to the left of where I was standing). Kaminski was on his way down a long while ( well a second or two) before Stefan & Per had their coming together - have to say, he was a bit wild all day really !! Did anybody else think the Posa effect was prevalent this weekend. From where we were, the crowd was significantly down on previous years, more so on the Sunday. We actually had space to move about on the Saturday night. There were definitely fewer coaches in the bus park on both days. We had quite a bit of discussion in our part of the stadium and decided that had the meeting been held in the UK it would not have gone ahead on health and safety grounds. From the start of the first turn right round to the start of the third turn there was effectively only two escape routes out in case of emergency, and one of those was severly restricted given the number of people that would have been directed that way. Hopefully when the Hotel is completed that will improve immensely.

Think that you need to have a look at this star ghost....lol

Hi DK. Red star were effectively sponsored by the Police from Prague. The Marketa stadium was 'owned' by the Police and many of the Red Star riders day jobs were in the police in some capacity.

Gothenberg Gp 08/05
rusky replied to shankley61's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Have been to Ullevi on several occasions and have sat in pretty much most areas of the stadium, and as Rob has said there isn't really a bad view in the place - remember though if you are along the straights and on one of the higher rows, its a long way to the track ( you don't really want to be a vertigo sufferer up there !!) -
Bad planning I reckon.. We won't be able to go to this meeting in 2010 as it doesn't coincide with the school holidays in the UK or in Sweden. This would mean that our friends from Gotland possibly may not travel (well one of their family will definitley be there) I also wonder about the weather at that time of the year, whereas the date at the end of May is usually quite good. Its a real shame as Gothenburg is an ideal option for a short break, with some speedway thrown in for good measure.
-
From what I know he is being kept in hospital overnight for observation, but there are no breaks and no obvious injuries.
-
Which in that case would mean it starts at 12 in Poland then.......
-
According to the SKY planner its being shown at 11AM here..............

Ironically LT, my 5 year old who was making her first visit to Cardiff thought the music was brilliant
-
In my opinion the whole incident was very much a 6 and 2 three's issue, and as such neither could really be held responsible for the incident in its entirety - obviously the FIM held Emil more responsible in view of the fines handed down. Some of this is another case of 'what goes around comes around', as in years gone by Scott has not been afraid to put his point quite forcibly, and has in the past had a pits crew who were not afraid to settle disagreements in an aggressive manor (on occasions involving supporters as well).

Cardiff Sound System
rusky replied to nelson76's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We were on the lower tier, first bend just before the apex, and the sound was absolutely appalling. I thought the choice of music (which could be heard fine, it was just any speech from the centre green or video) was pretty good. My 5 year old had a great time sining along and dancing to the music pretty much all night. As has already been mentioned I think it went too close to the actual start of the race though. I like the suggestion of playing 'the race' upto the start -
Fairly sure that Rickard Hellsen did, and indeed rode with Phil at Swindon for a while
-
You are right in that more dirt would make Marketa very good race track. As mentioned previously the track preparation for an SGP is contracted out, usually to the organising club / federation, although I think that all of the manmade tracks are contracted out to the same supplier namely Speedsport A/S. Unfortunatley Prague is one of those tracks that is always slick, as that seems to be the only way that they know how to prepare it (or maybe the only successful way )
