That's a bit disrespectful - and use an emoticon if its supposed to be a joke
-
If anyone wants to smile and brighten up their day - have a look at the clothing model on the club's online shop at http://www.swindonrobins.co/clubshop. Another talent uncovered

It's unfair to say we have never rated Mads - he is a fantastic (and frustrating) rider to watch - his swoops round the fence on bend 4 at Blunsdon are legendary and he is still well liked at the club. It's just his average hasn't fitted for the team's we have assembled and I believe he is very happy at KL - just as he was at Swindon. Would be nice to see the Swindon Panthers vs the KL Robins in the grand final
-
KL may be the first to announce but you would be naive to think that the other promoters haven't sorted their teams out - especially when you are using loaned riders! If, say, Swindon had plans for Steady or Mads, then you would be in the same position as you are with PUK. So no one is pulling out any stops to compete - its just your loaned riders are not in their parent club's plans Having said that, KL look to have put together a really handy team of cast-offs who should make the play offs
-
Yes that is a strange one - I suppose it means he is in our plans for 2014 then. Might be part of the deal for Janowski though.

I don't believe I am biased on the subject because of the club I support! I think the asset system is illegal in the UK and it makes no sense to "splash the cash" on riders that may or may not get a team place in the following seasons. Swindon have just bought Morris from Glasgow and I personally think it is a waste of money (although he is a decent rider). What did Glasgow actually do to deserve a 5 figure fee? Looking at Peterborough they have an impressive list of riders but you cannot accommodate all of them in a single team - so what is the point? Let's assume that Peterborough wanted PUK in their team this year - if he doesn't want to ride there you can't make him - so what is the point in having him as an asset? Yes - there is a loan fee to consider but what if PUK decided (like many before him) - I'm not riding in the UK any more - promoters have splashed out to make him an asset and he can ride all over Europe (except the Uk) with no loan fee - not a great investment really! Also, with the new European league - if you assume that an exiled asset comes back to ride in the UK as part of this league does that mean that the club who "owns" him in the UK gets a loan fee - as all matches in the UK are under the control of the BSPA/SCB? It is an outdated system that serves no real purpose nowadays especially in times of extended austerity!

Gomolski signing details at http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/sportlatest/10090646.Robins_land_Gomolski/
-
Of course our reserves are weak - we have a PL second string with limited experience at EL level and another who is apparently shocking away from home and both with averages under 4 - that suggests they are not strong! If one of them is the next Kildemand then no problem but I don't see it. Anyway I'm not slating them - I just have reservations about them and I hope my reservations are unfounded once the season starts.
-
So if Gomolski is that good - how come no one used him last year?
-
Magic not confirmed yet so you may yet get your wish. I just hope our reserves are up to the job because it looks like they will be there for the season
-
If true - it leaves us very weak at reserve - Gomolski and Birks - oh dear! Should be renamed the Swindon Panthers (if Hans and Batch sign up too)
-
Thought I was on the wrong thread there with all the talk about Brummies
-
I personally think its ridiculous to think he can have a say on where they go! They will go wherever they want - just like any one f us - asset or no asset.
-
If you say so
-
We? you now speak for the entire forum do you? I have NEVER claimed to know something on here but can't share it! Oh and by the way - you mixed your metaphors - it's leaf!
-
Maybe expecting him not to say anything at all - but where is the kudos in that?
-
He's been hob-nobbing with the Poole sponsors and Rick Frost and Julie Mahoney and is hinting he knows something but won't share it because he knows something we don't
-
I haven't been on for a while dear chap! You do talk sone reindeer droppings sometimes. Go and have a rest sir
-
So are KL going to put their hands in their pockets to buy NKI and Mads? They've had both on loan for a good few seasons now so I would expect them to purchase them both as neither look like going back to their parent clubs anytime soon.
-
Precedence has already been set - PUK will ride wherever he wants
-
I do hope so - after 2 poor seasons. His home performances will be consistent but his away form is the concern. I hope the Steady we saw in the play off finals is the one who continues into next season and I would expect his DU with Sheffield to keep him sharper. Sorry to see him move on as I agree that his average should easily rise next season. You've got a bargain there
-
Have to agree that I'm not excited by this signing as some seem to be - especially when you consider he will be riding against some strong reserves (e.g Seb Alden). I hope to be proved wrong and he turns out to be as good as Robin Aspegren (or better) as they have very similar PL averages. Fingers crossed.
-
I'm afraid you're wrong on that one
-
Still looks like a Swindon team Good looking team - should be play-off contenders!
-
They don't share D/U positions next season
