    German News

Yes my opinion too.. Some Years ago there has been a series of 6 or Seven Meetings in group south and north for the U21 Juniors to qualify for the final.. Now we have2 or three meetings.. no second and third Bundesliga like we had some years ago. Smolinski, Hefenbrock, Stange, Schultz, Kroner and some others have been the result of these U21 Series.. The youngsters had a lot of meetings... Now I have to see riders who aren't strong enough for the Bundesliga riding against Magosi and Hefenbrock... Boring heats...

    Christian Hülshorst

Hülse is a real entertainer and a rider that seem to be able to ride every cind of vehicle that has weels... 2003 he was eigth in German Icespeedwaychampionship and 2004 he was starting in World Championship Qualifiying round at Kuusankowski.... He is realy an entertainer, never been a rider like Robert Barth or Gerd Riss on german Longtrack, but he is a rider who can do some surprises...

  10. From www.speedwaywolrd.tv The richest minute in motorsport will take place at VELTINS-Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The final round of the world championship FIM Speedway Grand Prix Series (SGP) - the FIM German Speedway Grand Prix - will be held at the former FIFA World Cup venue, with the winner walking away with $100,000, the biggest in the sport’s history. The event, to be held on Saturday 13th October, will be the 100th Grand Prix since the Series’ conception in 1995 and the first time world championship speedway has taken place at VELTINS- Arena. Paul Bellamy, managing director – speedway, BSI, rights holders of the SGP Series, said: “This is very exciting for the Series. Not only are we adding another world class venue to the calendar, but to celebrate the milestone of the 100th Grand Prix with the richest first prize in the history of the sport is great for the world championship and will make the final round of the 2007 Series an unmissable event. “Bringing the Grand Prix to the VELTINS-Arena keeps in line with our strategy to showcase world championship speedway in the world’s great stadiums. It is the perfect backdrop for the richest minute in motorsport and a fitting finale to the 2007 season and the centenary Grand Prix.” To transform the VELTINS-Arena into a world championship speedway stadium a specially built track will be constructed, under the eagle-eye of three times world champion and FIM Race Director, Ole Olsen. Olsen and his team already build tracks at the FIM British Speedway Grand Prix at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, and the FIM Dansk Metal Danish Speedway Grand Prix at PARKEN, Copenhagen, and will use this knowledge to build a world class track at VELTINS-Arena. “The track building team are looking forward to creating a first class track inside this great stadium,” said Olsen. “The final minute of the FIM German Grand Prix with a $100,000 first prize will be a fantastic climax to the 100th Grand Prix and I am sure the VELTINS-Arena will create its own chapter in the history of the FIM Speedway Grand Prix Series.” Olsen added: “I only wish I was young enough to give the top riders in the world a run for their money in the final race…$100, 000 may give me the incentive to get back on a bike!” Tickets for the Richest Minute in Motorsport, the FIM German Speedway Grand Prix, are on sale now via: Local (Germany): www.veltins-arena.de Tel: 01805 150 810 International: www.seetickets.com/speedway Tel: +44 1159 934 111 UK Only: 0870 143 2207

    Ice Racing Dates

I've made a week Holiday at Saalfelden and hoped they had been able to run this meeting, but it is too warm. Have been at the track on Sunday afternoon and it would have been impossible to run a meeting. If it is getting cold in Austria i think they would be able to build a track. Anybody told me that the ice have to be 60 cm strong to hold a meeting. at the moment i believe too the meeting will be held at finland.

    German Grand Prix 2007?

I think the crowd will be the biggest problem so i think a GP at Landshut or Pocking on a permanent Speedway track would be a much better choice than the Arena auf Schalke. I realy would love to see a GP back at Germany... If it's now on a permanent track or in a big Stadium....

    Hefenbrock Wins National Title

In Germany we're realy happy with our three german Riders in Elite League... In Herxheim Tommy Stange was realy good two. Don't forget, he broke his hand six weeks ago... !!! From our Younger prospects, with Max Dilger only 17 years old and Richard Speißer (18) there are some new riders coming. Also Kevin Wölbert. Stephan Katt missed the meeting cause he had to win the European Grasstrack title, Kevin Wölbert rode in Poland, rene Schäfer injured. Robbie Kessler had to ride in German League, because nominated have been first 8 from last years Championship and top 8 Riders from 1. and 2. Bundesliga. Robbie didn't ride in Germany, so he hasn't been riding this Meeting. In the Finale Hefe won the start ahead of Tobi Kroner. Smoli took Tobi after 2nd croner and was hunting for Hefenbrock. His engine failure stopped his title dreams. Think without Martins engine failure we would have seen two interessting last laps...
