Scunthorpe Stags Vs King's Lynn Young Stars (nl) - Sunday, April 27th (follows Pl Match)
Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to lucifer sam's topic in National League Speedway
Speedway is a professional sport - and the National League IS a professional league; the riders get paid, which is the definition of 'professional' in terms of sport. -

Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to Penny Cross's topic in National League Speedway
Hmm, but still seems a difficult one to stand as the record in the circs... I wonder then if Simon's time recorded on Saturday is going to stand now as the new NL record? -
Hmm, an interesting item of conjecture so early in the season!! Simon has won a lot at third tier level (eg the Pairs three times) but he's NOT won the CLRC/NLRC so I'd imagine this year that title could well be up there on his agenda..? Benji is a former CLRC champ.

It's actually Luke Harris...! -
The best way to find the result and scorers is the Updates page for that match. Only fair as the excellent folk involved on thast site do all the hard work. Link is: http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/13051/devon-kent-nlkoc-15-15pm

Yes it is. Date correct but I don't think doors open to public until 5pm.

Er I think Milke meant two teams with county names NOT teams from Devon & Kent! Luke is reigning GB Youth Grasstrack champ - a great prospect for the future -

Arena Essex vs. Somerset..? Would that count..? -
Ah ha, so SCB's not so clever after all!!!
-
Well personally I'm astonished you, SCB, of all people should be bothered with such a thing - considering you're always telling us you never complete one because you can remember all the heat results and therefore progressive score in your head!!!

Who's Got The Best Reserve?
Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to pete cc's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Has anyone seen (on a club website for example..?) a simple (well simple-ish!) to understand explanation of the whole Fast Track scheme, covering all the angles/nuances? As they say at all the good management training sessions, don't want to re-invent the wheel!! -

Kings Lynn V Zielona Gora 19/03/14
Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Anyone know who the other (not publicised to date..) members of the ZG team are? And also what time the practice session the evening before starts? Wondering if time to see that practice and still get to the EoESG for the meeting there on the Tueesday evening? -
Underrated Ipswich Riders From The Past
Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to colinc1968's topic in Years Gone By
Surprised mo-one's mentioned Alan Sage. One of the West Ham riders who moved to Ipswich wnhen the Witches moved up to the top division - he never missed a match before moving onto Crayford in '75. -
Southern Track Riders Dates For Kings Lynn 2014
Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to bigend111's topic in Training Tracks / Amateur
The late '50s gustix.?! So by implication then, you've NEVER been to King's Lynn (even though by staging since '64 it's now one of the longest running tracks in the country..)?; I have to say I'm very surprised at that -
Was Penhall,s Retirement The Start Of The Decline In Speedway.?
Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to stratton's topic in Years Gone By
Penhall's retirement? Or the national press front page headlines when the British number one shot his wife in the back and then turned the gun on himself? I know which one I think hastened the decline of Speedway the most. -

Quad Speedway At Rye House 23 Feb
Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in Grasstrack, Sidecar, Short Track and Cycle Speedway
Yes I suppose Sidecars could've been in there too but it is a Quads event in the main and I think the move towards these Quad Speedway meetings in the past couple of years has been a really positive thing - so they deserve to take centre stage! The Midget Cars I've never seen and would love; to but in truth does anyone own any let alone race them here in the UK? The Speedway demo races see two of my all-time favourite riders in Eddie Kennett & Stevie Boxall take to track along with Kent Kings' Ben Morley and newbies, Brandon Freemantle & Dan Blake - so that's good. Last Speedway at the famous track before a new era with the installation of the air fence. -
????? Always amazes me tbh, how you have virtually no interest in anything. You don't complete a programme and think everyone who does is wasting their time. Now your latest is that you don't care about tracks records because, er, there's a time keeper..? Not sure I get this, would you rather count in your head to work out the race time..?! I sometimes wonder if you actually like Speedway at all!!

Wimbledon Stadium: Some Important News
Parsloes 1928 nearly replied to Parsloes 1928 nearly's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It is interesting and unusual for Greyhound racing types to protest the closure or proposed closure of their track. When Catford went there were no protests - the shocking way in which the sport was ended there with no notice was really appalling but not a wimper from the owners/trainers/punters as far as I can recall. Now we hear that the sport's about to close again with very little notice at Brandon. Wonder if they'll be protests from the Dog Racing fraternity up in Cov? -
Steve Boxall also set a new NL track record at Rye House (in the NLRC) last year! And NB. his track record at Mildenhall is an all-time record not just an NL/CL one!!
-
Robert Branford's been seeded into the U-21 Final (as one would expect as the holder..) so seems it's expected he's going to be back in the UK...
