Thank you AndyP. That link was not there before!

Adam Mckinna might be the grey area to correct the averages. I found this http://www.speedwaygb.co/nlteams10.html updated 8-10-10 so these could be nearer the truth.

Thank you SimonB, as these were just the latest i could find, at that moment.

Sheffield & Scunthorpe Nl Team
IronScorpion replied to gypilgrim's topic in National League Speedway
I think this is a great idea regarding the use of 2 tracks for a NL team. Was it an idea, last year, put forward by Rob & Neil that brought Dudley back, racing at 2 tracks. This year we have the tie up between Lakeside & Rye for the Hackney Hawks. Regarding the support of the Saints, double headers were always well supported & worth the money. Last year, the stand alone meetings for the Saints were poorly supported, & wrongly in my view, as the NL always gives the best entertainment. Reading through this topic, there are only about a dozen who are posting on here & you will find a few Scunthorpe supporters that watch speedway in Sheffield for their own enjoyment, so, i would think, there would be a considerable contingent that would travel & car share. I travel in car & on bike so there are opportunities for others to travel with me & i know of others that travel also. Support for the Saints/Prowlers?, in Sheffield, would not be a problem. -
you'll find out soon as a saint because of the merger with Scunny & Sheffield

In tonights telegraph, Parker & Wolbert added to list with a possibility of Crump, who is a keen supporter of the event. All depends on his rehabilitation to fitness after his last operation. -

This must be the meeting Rob had said he had got but details to be revealed later http://www.thisisscunthorpe.co.uk/scorpionsnews/Bigger-cracker-cards-Christmas-meeting-cancelled/article-3025217-detail/article.html Well done Rob, richly deserved for our fair racetrack. Now just improve the facilities to cater for large attendances ie; steps in the stands(for improved viewing) & catering(food/drinks-cut down on waiting times). Just repeating what others have moaned about. -

Kenny Smith Memorial Meeting
IronScorpion replied to leoni's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Not a spectacle, by any means, but still a good meeting with a deserved winner. Certainly, nobody saw that coming as Rory was simply class. Disappointed with Scotty's attitude as he was, supposedly, the star of the show(baring our great man up there looking down on us). "Oh and two fingers up really to all the people who have stood and slagged him off in recent weeks at Scunny & as I said in a stand full of people tonight, he was the only Scorpion in the final & there was still people that wouldn't have cheered for him to win! You can't win em all I guess though!" - - - i wonder if this group are the ones that first slated B. Becker then S.Lambert. We are not all like this as some can understand how difficult it is to set a bike up. Even the best riders in the world, at the GP's, after a days practice get it wrong. It was noticable, to me anyway, that Jan has got it spot on as his racing lines and speed was evident in his last meeting at the EWR against Somerset in the Shield. I echo what others have said here. Well done Jan & many thanks to all the riders & track staff. Not one bit of grading was carried out but you still had to rake the track once wet through. -

The showers have arrived but only enough, at the moment, to just wet the ground. I'll keep you informed to how much, later. -

http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/today.asp?zipcode=Scunthorpe expected showers but you know what the weather men are like plus, it's only showers. Our track will easily soak them up to make a perfect, grippy race track. What a cracking line up in which i cannot name the top 3. This is the best field of riders to perform at the EWR for the benefit of a great man, who did so much for the Scorpions. -

Scunthorpe Saints V ...rye Cobras Sun 4th July
IronScorpion replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway
What is the last bit supposed to imply It was a racing incident where Benji rode on the inside of Marc at bend 3 & continued round. Unfortunately, he clipped the kerb causing him to collect Marcs front wheel resulting in Marc breaking his collarbone hitting the floor before the air fence. His family & friends, who i had been speeaking to during the PL meet were sat/stood just infront of us. His mum and a few others ran, out of concern to the stricken Marc, whereas Benji had rode round to also check on his condition. Please edit your last implication as it is well out of order. -
Leszno Gp - 24th April 2010
IronScorpion replied to GregM's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The after meeting talk about how tracks are prepared will not wash with english promoters. An individual meeting is set up to be equal for all riders. Team events are set up for the home teams. As a lot of people voted for best track or best meeting, then come to Scunthorpe to see the best racing in English Speedway. A fair, wide track produces great racing with multiple race lines like Leszno. If you don't believe me read, the forums, get a copy of last years Sky meeting or get in touch with GRT Media, who cover our meetings. -
Christmas Cracker Speedway Meeting - 27th December 3pm
IronScorpion replied to Scunny Stag's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
How can some people post on here that did not go to the meeting. Updates do not tell the whole story. Racing was sometimes processional, not what we, normally, observe at the EWR but what do you expect at this time of the year. Doolan was the favourite, and did not disappoint, but it was a run out for most riders and, considering the cold, some engines gave up the ghost. Only 1 bike for most riders, as could have been very costly for some. Credit to all that turned up and gave it a go. -

Scunthorpe - Kenny Smith Memorial Meeting 23rd Oct 7.30pm
IronScorpion replied to Scunny Stag's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Weather for tonight is dry but could be cool! http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/today....code=Scunthorpe Sunny at the moment so the track and racing will be top class-as usual at the EWR. For the first timers, you will never believe the type of racing we are accustomed to-win or lose, we have seen great speedway. Just remember the sky meeting at scunny earlier in the season. -

Has Lewis ate humble pie after his antics in the Rye House double header at our place. Will be interesting to see the response he gets as we have not got short memories or are thick skinned. Yes, i know it's for Kenny and the future development of the EWR, but he is one rider i would rather not see there tonight. -
British Under 18 Final
IronScorpion replied to gypilgrim's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
After missing the meeting due to work, the "sour grape writers" are basicly saying the Speedway GP format is wrong ,also, and that they should only ride the 20 heats at every meeting. As others have said, the riders knew the rules before the first heat and this format has been used for a while now. -
British U15 Championship 2009
IronScorpion replied to PhilK's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Taken from Scunthorpe website for info only; Jotun Paints Scunthorpe Saints rider Ashley Morris was crowned British Under-15 Champion yesterday after the final round at Workington yesterday whilst team-mate Kyle Howarth won the round and finished just four points back in second place overall. The destiny of the title went to the last race of the seventh round with both Saints riders capable of claiming the title along with Plymouth’s Josh Dingle. Morris only needed second place to claim the title and after two re-starts he achieved just that to follow in the footsteps of former Scorpions Josh Auty and Joe Haines as national champion. In the 250cc class Scunthorpe Scorpions’ mascot Reece Downes, who was the youngest rider in the competition, looked well set for a podium place but fell whilst leading the semi-final. Brandon Freemantle went on to claim the national title in after a race-off with round winner Robert Lambert whilst there was consolation for the disappointed Downes, who turns 11 today, as he climbed two places in the championship to finish fourth overall in his first season. After the meeting Saints Team Manager Malcolm Vasey, who was at Workington, praised his riders “Ashley and Kyle are two outstanding young riders. They are very talented and it has been an absolute pleasure watching them progress whilst riding for the Saints this season. They have a bright future in the sport and there were others here today who also have great potential. Young Reece is undoubtedly one of those but the disappointing aspect of junior speedway is the number of young riders involved. Quite simply we need to attract a lot more youngsters into the sport. At Scunthorpe we have our mini-track and I understand numbers are really increasing on that this year so hopefully that trend will continue and eventually we can see something akin to the 80cc scene that is so successful in Denmark and Sweden develop.” Ashley Morris and Kyle Howarth are next in action on Friday night, 25th September, at the Eddie Wright Raceway in the British Under-18 Final. They are joined by Saints’ team-mates Richard Franklin, James Sarjeant and Adam Wrathall along with Scunthorpe Scorpions’ Premier League rider Jerran Hart. Racing starts at 7.30pm. Results 500cc: Final: Morris, Howarth, Dingle, Sibson, Kirby Semi-final: Dingle, Kirby, Hoskins Final Championship Standings (unofficial): Ashley Morris 100, Kyle Howarth 96, Josh Dingle 94, Daniel I’Anson 68, Darryl Ritchings 62, Adam Kirby 61, Cameron Hoskins 56, Tom Stokes 49, Jack Butler 44, Lloyd Barrett 16, Adam Portwood 13. 250cc: Final: Lambert, Stoneman, Sibson, Freemantle Semi-final: Stoneman, Sibson, Archer, Downes (fell) Final Championship Standings (unofficial): Brandon Freemantle 98, Robert Lambert 98 (after title race-off), Nathan Stoneman 90, Reece Downes 73, Jack Cornes 67, Adam Portwood 65, Daniel Sibson 60, Steven Archer 52, Tyler Govier 45, Jack Jones 45. -

Woffinden, Auty & Courtney. Unluckiest person to not qualify was Tully. 13pts from first 5 rides, he qualified for run-off semi-final only to shed chain while leading 4th lap. Gutted is an understatement.
