When Tai came back to Britain in 2005, his dad took him to a lot of after meeting practices to see how he fared riding different shaped tracks. He then spent 2 years riding for Scunthorpe in the Conference before moving to Rye House & later Wolverhampton, so he DID spend a lot of time learning the basics in the UK.

Danny Ayres RIP
IronScorpion replied to Come on the Skipper's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Totally, Totally shocked. R.I.P. Danny Condolences to family & friends. I was looking forward to 2020 hoping to see him improve even more with his tie up at Ipswich. Also, some of the posts on this page(3) should not have been posted whether it be about Danny or Benji. -
The diehards will still be there, it is just the maybe's or lapsed supporters that might be interested so it is a win win for the club. Massive respect.

I think you will find that, most if not ALL, were because they were in 3 cup/ play off positions.

Ask Workington fans how many meetings they had in a short space of time in 2018? This includes double headers & the abandoned "ice off".

Cast your minds back to 2018 & the uproar it caused when Scunthorpe struggled with rider availability for injured riders & requested teams move to their original race nights! Now this happens, about Poole, before the season has started & when a few fixtures could have been better arranged to suit the original draw made on the 27th November. When did the fixture planning start? A VERY POOR EXCUSE & posters wonder why Poole were hated in the EL/Premiership!
-
Looking at the April fixtures, Poole are not racing on Wednesday 8th & Poole v Birmingham on the 15th could have been re-arranged. Poole did not have to have a busy start to the season as all other teams have spare days. What is their alternative race night?
-
How would you know it was their first time & how would it be policed?
-
How many riders have pulled out of the sport in the last few years because the step up was too much.

Poole Pirates 2021
IronScorpion replied to Pirates Of Poole's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Jedd List was signed on the recommendation that he could gate & that he looked comfortable on a bike. We knew he was raw & had only used a 500cc engine some 8 months prior. Unfortunately, he was found out to be not the gater we expected & was regularly beaten into the 1st corner then unable to pass. He wasn't ready & this was explained to Jedd & his dad, who was over here with him, & they both took the news well. They hung around having practices at a few venues & even though people said he looked good, practice & racing are at 2 different levels. -
I would like them protected to a certain level unlike in Poland. If any of these lads reach an average of about 6 then it proves that they are ready to be a 2nd strings as to average 6, you must be beating fellow reserves & 2nd strings. To move up if you get an average of about 4-4.50 would be wrong as some teams might go top heavy in the team leader department, having 2nd strings at around that level. Most teams will have 2nd strings about 5-5.50 so the move up should be correct.

Any ideas how

I have just been on the Aces topic & it is said that there will be a price increase in 2020, £1 for Aces & £2 for Colts. This is mainly to cut the losses of the Colts meetings.

Is Jordan Palin ready for Championship speedway?
IronScorpion replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You have got to start at a points level somewhere & he was only 15. -

I am guessing he came here on more than a one year visa & he would have to re-apply to, also, ride in the Championship. His 8.26 converted average(get it ) makes it impossible to be in Poole's plans. Well, at the present time, that is. -

???????????????? Does his visa allow it? What would his average be? Thought they were after 2 reserves & not a no1 at 8.26! -

Did he say anything about why the KO was changed? -
If the stadium and/or track are not ready for league racing then surely, later in the year, there will be some challenge meetings.
-
For those unsure about what is being mentioned, here is the original draw with the same 12 teams involved http://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/news.php?extend.37740 on 27 Nov '19
-
It might be good if something appears on the Eastbourne website from Ian Jordan giving the reasons or logistics into this change.
-
Why has common sense prevailed? Changing the draw with the teams mentioned making it regionalised? Yet, you still have Somerset v Glasgow! They should have left it alone as the poster above states, "why have a draw in the first place"?
-
Year upon year the Shield fixtures are there as a season opener to get riders up to speed yet the final is raced in September/October as league racing deadlines for play off places take priority. Yes, we all wanted more fixtures than last year, which we now have, but good riddance to the Shield. If you need your riders to get up to speed then arrange challenge meetings.
-
Chris Louis, normally, gets the rules right so it could be that the reporter did not understand his reply. Transfers can only be made AFTER 25% of league meetings & before the 75% of meetings which means that the transfer window is between meetings 7 to 17 inclusive in which 2 riders can be changed. If a rider is injured outside of this parameter, I would expect r/r or guest facilities to be used.

Will a few hours make much difference? Online SS could be just gone midnight. Clubs twitter could be early. SS in shops Thursday so will be available 4.30am ish plus local papers(which ours is out Thursday) might have them in.
