    AGM

So, these last 2 pages based on the statement from the AGM is peoples opinions. There is no fact that if Newcastle do not run then Plymouth will take their place needing a restructuring of the North/South divide. With regards to the Chairmanship, Rob Godfrey has been fair & put forward a case that the rules were adhered to that were put in place at the 2017 AGM for the 2018 season. Some teams were not present at that AGM but they should have stuck to the rules in place rather than being confrontational in changing race nights when the fixtures were made. Damian Bates made it known this year that his involvement in speedway made it difficult with his business interests, probably being similar in 2020. Has anyone posted true facts yet on the AGM that is not their own opinion?

I would, also, think most teams will have 5 or more riders sorted ready to be finalized shortly.

Similar situation to last year when he had a team agreed/pencilled in only for the VOTE of the promoters at the AGM agreed to a lower points level & we had to change riders around.

    Scunthorpe Scorpions 2020

I think you will find that riders do not say anything about where they are riding until it is announced by the club. In the SS report, he was also saying he would like to be racing in the PL & NDL. Hoping for a PL spot is the 1st part of the story. The 2nd is his hospital visit for a progress report. The 3rd is that the door is still open for an NDL spot(his over 4 CL average probably will curtail his initial inclusion if the rules stay the same) The 4th is that he would love to be back at Scunthorpe(We will not let him go to another club )

    Glasgow 2021

Kyle learnt the tracks at no6 for Workington with no pressure put on him riding with & against better riders. For Glasgow, he rode at no7 & was expected to score some points riders riding against riders of a similar or lesser ability. If you put 2 x 2pointers at 6 & 7, the no7 WILL score more points.

Maybe you are hearing it correctly but not seeing it correctly as I cannot find a rider with a 7.95 average although I did find one with the 5% added. S Worrall at 7.57

    Scunthorpe Scorpions 2020

We are not out of this season(1 day) never mind pre season optimism. There is still time for the rules & limits to change to spoil teams "possible" line ups. Post AGM we will know the rules but teams will probably not be fully announced until mid/late December (1 rider per week with some teams)
  13. Don't most of the promoters go to the monthly/ pre AGM meetings so all present would know something about next year? Did you post on another thread that it could only be British riders that have ridden in the NDL in these last 3 years would get the new 5% reduction? I would give all British riders a 2.5% reduction & to promote loyalty, any rider that finished in the final team declaration a reduction if they sign for the same team.

    Newcastle 2020

I seem to remember that you even had 1 of this years team turning out most weeks during the winter helping with track work, cleaning, replacing ready for this last year.

    Scunthorpe Scorpions 2020

Is this team built on the cheap? Only 2 loan fees. Is it uninspiring with riders on the way down? Due to injuries so could step up Have riders reached their maximum? Allen needs to step up that little bit more to get to no1 with his injured shoulder sorted for next year. Auty will drop his average at no1 but will Allen step up enough to stay at 1 & keep Auty at 5? Aarnio & TJ should, hopefully, shake off injuries during the winter with more to come. Ayres still has room for improvement & Lambert got his confidence back & rode the smaller, tight away tracks well. What could Palin do? It depends where he is put in the team. At 6 he might struggle & at 7, will he be up against riders of similar experience & ability. This team, using Final averages, comes to 40.86. British discounts for ex CL, NL, NDL riders?

I agree. A track should be made to suit the riders to gain a little home advantage on our track but how many years has Rob made a team up to entertain. That is almost a guarantee on our track so give our riders something to have a go on but having a bit of difficulty so not to be easy for away riders.

    Championship Grand Final 2019

IF'S, BUT's & MAYBE'S. It is a dangerous, high octane sport that has it's spills & thrills. Staying on the bike, engine failures are part of the sport. How many other teams can go back & count points dropped? Leicester used the guest option to have a 7 man team. Glasgow replaced Starke to have a 7 man team.

    Newcastle 2020

The only teams that have announced riders with averages over 8 are Edinburgh(Masters) & Birmingham(Harris)

    Premiership Final Averages 1-49

I wrote a system down earlier in the year & it was based on Grades of A(3) B(2) & C(1). Teams are made up of a 6 man team but a 7 man squad. The team has a maximum limit of 12. This gives teams 3 x A + 3 x C, 2 x A + 2 x B + 2 x C, 1 x A + 4 x B + 1 x C, 6 x B The team also has a maximum average of 36 so no team is getting the top average rider in the grades. With this system, though, riders get 5 rides on average so the riders average would have to be per ride making an average between 0 & 3. The team average for this system would be 10. The 7th(squad) rider can be any graded rider but is used for injuries & unavailability ( riding in other countries) only. When used the maximum of grade & team average must be applied. Any riders not picked in the initial declarations go in to a "Guest Pot". These riders, also, have grades & averages. A "guest" cannot turn out for any team, in any competition, more than 4 times. This gives more teams a rider identity & removes the use of guests from other teams.

    Sheffield 2020

I would think most riders who have improved at a certain track, would stay their the following year(Finances from decent points haul). They can then adapt to the trickier tracks during the season. If they then adapt well then a move the following season could be a possibility.

    Poole Pirates 2021

Nicholls moving from near Ipswich to Brighton could put him on the radar for Poole. Also, I have heard Ryan Douglas is moving south to be with his mate "Marra" Morris. South coast clubs could be interested in him from Swindon, Poole or Eastbourne.
  24. IronScorpion

    Sheffield 2020

I would think that a few Scunthorpe supporters will still make the trip, even more to see Premiership teams(even though the NSS is not much further. In reverse, if the track & racing does not improve, we might still see a few Sheffield supporters visit the entertainment venue of the EWR(probably not enough for Rob's liking)
