NLRC - Scunthorpe, Sunday, NOW October 20th, 5pm

I would put money on Perks to win this but in Leicester's away win, the 3 heat leaders were 1. Garrity 4. Nicholls 5. Douglas -

Is that fit for one team or both? It depends on the attitude of riders with a quiet word in the ref's ear. -

2nd as Palin is the 1st -
Priority of fixtures should be Shield(as it is the season opener), final by mid July, KOC final by mid Sept, League by end Oct using alternative race nights when practically possible.

An 8 team Premiership & 10 or 12 team Championship with a 6 team NDL is a must & the promoters must be getting their heads together at pre AGM meetings at Rugby to ensure this happens. We now have more young lads coming through & they still need to develop & refine their skills at the right level. Some of them will require 2 league racing & the PL is a step too far for most. Kemp, Flint, Bickley, Palin, Thompson twins, Gilkes, Kinsley, Edwards, McGurk, Mulford are just a few that, in a couple more years, could be PL 2nd strings. Do not destroy these young lads at an early age

I got mine to 48.99 Kemp (9.15 down to 8.14), Ledwith (3.50 to 5.93), Bowen (3.36), Edwards (6.73 to 7.53), Ayres (8.90 to 9.71), D Thompson (2.00 to 5.50), Palin (2.00 to 8.82)

Scored 10 from 5 in his last home meeting for us & scored 14 from 5 away at Birmingham. Scores, as a guest, do not contribute to your average. -

Since joining us, he has been used on many occasions as a guest so IS doing something right. -
Peterborough Panthers 2019

ALL outstanding meetings should be arranged before any play off meetings. It means some riders are hanging around for probably 3 weeks to a month & not riding. -
Promote youth gradually & not like the EDR system a few years ago.

Ben Barker has been nothing but a pleasure at Scunthorpe. -
Scunthorpe Stags in 2014 started out with 1 seasoned rider & 6 novices would probably take that honour. Very controversial & got beat heavily in most matches but it was seen as a way to develop the younger riders. Only 1 win in that season.

I would be surprised if he gets an average reduction through injury as he has not been out for a year. I think that was the rule in place, previously, but David Howe retired because of his injuries(mainly shoulder) but returned about a year & a half later, with no reduction.

I think you will find that the 5.37 is including bonus points so his true CMA will be the 4.34 -

quote "Not sure about IRR, as TJ had taken part in 3 rides/completed races, (whether or not programmed),,, so not sure what's the ruling is on that." IRR is applied if rider has not taken part/completed 3 rides. His 4th ride can only be taken by a reserve( or TS if available) -
“The Showground will remain fully operational until at least the end of 2022, with all facilities open for business until that point. “From 2023 onwards it is likely there will be a phased withdrawal of facilities at the Showground over a number of years starting from the edges of the Showground. So 2/3 years for the speedway seems about right to me... Isn't the stadium almost in the centre of the showground? Does this mean that the whole area will be made smaller with the perimeter fencing brought in to develop the area for whatever means?

Season Finale - Scorpions v Redcar 8.9.19

But they did try because of Toft's late withdrawal hence the number of calls made. -

More so after we had just got a 4-2 then 2 x 5-1's. Rob probably thought meeting was won so thought about payments to riders. Dave Peet more annoyed about gifting Redcar a point especially as they were trying to pull a fast one using Douglas for Toft. Quite a few phone calls were made before the meeting. -

I go to the club after the meeting & it was the meeting after the heroics of Ayres at the British Final when some of the riders passed comment that if there was a bit more dirt, they could attack it more. As I walked round the track later, Rob was on track in the tractor & I shouted out that the riders wanted a bit more dirt(jokingly). He shouted back saying something like "I sort the track so it's up to them to race on it". Probably a joking, maybe sarcastic reply, which was laughed off by us. The next meeting, there seemed to be a bit more dirt which caught the riders out, chasing new setups, which they also commented on after this meeting. I have said this before on previous threads that it seems a hard job to get the right weather, the right moisture & the right amount on to a track to make it the same or similar every week/fortnight. Some you win, some you lose. -

At the start of the season he was going full time with NBJ. Probably just moved over to another pit bay. -
That attitude might sway some people to stay away.
