Scorpions v Glasgow 28.07.19
IronScorpion replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
There has been additives made to improve the BHP on road bikes increasing the octane levels. Their is also cooler blankets used to keep the temperature at a lower level when racing in hotter climates. Obviously, methanol is different but gains can be made. Nitro was an additive used before where it was mixed with the Methanol, or mixed with the oil or even sprayed onto the air filter. Small particles , small gains but they make a difference. Even allowing more air to lean a carburettor by using a slim sleeve/shim in the clamping & altering your jet can make a difference. -

No offence but Palovaara being blocked from riding for a top team rather than a mid to bottom table team. -

That was probably his worst result, points wise, this season, not just for us but for Mildenhall & when guesting. Just one of those days but not just blaming Danny, as he has been awesome for us but the track was a one & a half liner where, when trying the outside line, Josh, Jake, Ben, Danny, Cookie were going backwards making no ground what so ever. -

It might have been a corker of a meeting to what you normally see at Sheffield but for me, irrespective of the result, we threw it away, gifting points to the Glasgow lads in the way we rode the track. The track prep was not normal because of the weather we had & what was predicted pre meeting but it caught us out. What was up with Danny? Thoughts on tomorrow? That was a mare for him but being in the spotlight, giving interviews to put in to print has, maybe, got to him a bit. We needed to stop their lower order getting points but, for some reason, they were getting them. The inside line had the grip, possibly due to the amount of standing water that got in to the track before the water was removed yesterday. We also heard rumours of possible fuel tampering with probable additives used to get off the gate on a slick track. Whether a complaint has been put in with checks made & retrospective action taken later I am unsure but it did seem evident half way through the meeting when the Tigers got on top. Gating almost 3 metres in front by the 1st bend was evident mid meeting in which the track had not changed or been graded. -

That is also a top choice mentioned by a few this last couple of years. Weather fine at the moment with the rain keeping over the Sheffield area & wind direction not blowing our way. -

Pie & peas awesome as well. Meat slice made by best butchers in town! -
We made the riding order at Redcar to counteract Wright at 2 & won(just ), & was going to keep the same riding order for the meeting v Leicester so who knows what the order will be Sunday. We do know, though, there will be a change at no1 from 1/8 as Allen will now occupy that position. Do we go with what we have done before with Auty at 5 with the reserves in 3 rides or do we go with rider pairings tried this year? 1. Allen 2. Ayres 3. Barker 4. Nielsen 5. Auty 6. Kinsley 7. Lambert 1. Allen 2. Nielsen 3. Ayres 4. Auty 5. Barker 6. Kinsley 7. Lambert

Jason broke his wrist in a 4 bike pile up in the British Semi Final at Redcar & he's been out for over 2 months now. It has been reported that he had a skid after our amateur meeting at the week end. His 28 day replacement has done more than enough to keep his place. His enthusiastic style of racing leads to entertainment but it can, & normally does, bring its share of injuries during a season. Always a trier though, unlike Schlein. -
I agree, even though it will not change the result of last year.

Ok. Thanks for that as just flicking through your recent results now Garrity has left us. -
Possibly due to team changes. 2 in 2 out.

From Green Sheets issued 17/7 Morris 5.46 Etheridge 5.65 Ostergaard 5.66 How was this allowed? -
Now we know the answers to our questions about whether Garrity or Barker will be here at the weekend. Garrity to Birmingham so Barker to the Scorpions. As I have said on previous threads, he has sorted his personal problems, scored well for us & other teams have picked him as a guest. Welcome fulltime Ben.

If Barker stays it could, also, throw in to the conundrum with another approximate 1.3 for another change. -

It shows the improvements in the track???? Still, if that was the best they could show, no wonder Ford wants out! BORING!!!!!!!! Fill in your programme after bend 2. YAWN! -
Does his rolling average apply once he has ridden a meeting then it is his 2017 average & any scores up to the 23rd for a new average starting 1st August(I think that was how I interpreted Kennett's & Ellis's averages early this year)

Jenga thought & posted before me so, yes, your words were taken as implying .................................................................... but then again, it was Jenga! In the SS, the Redcar promotion looked at the bigger picture when signing Riss & knew this fixture was a risk so it seems the promotion were happy but the fans are up in arms. In your profile, it says your team is "all" but it seems to be "all bar ????????" Reading most of your postings though it seems you are a "know it all" & you have got into a few disagreements with others, but again, I reiterate, the forum is based on opinions. You even edited one of your posts after finding out Riss misses 2 meetings(this week & next) but are granted a facility next week. Well done. Birmingham were in the same boat earlier this season after signing Ellis, missing one of his 1st meetings then posters saying why sign him if he was going to miss meetings then changing their tune, surmising it was a good move as he had a high converted average so guests would be easy to find. Since then, he has not missed many meetings but will be missing this weekend. -
