Not sure on this but has happened before in that there is/was a rule in place that if a rider finished in a team the previous year & is declared the following year, a facility can be granted. But, I do not know how r/r has been allowed for Morris as he had not ridden for Wolves this year & last year was at Swindon.

Looking at that, it was a re-declaration or a declaration of new personnel due to Jacob's injury as it was the 1st one. file:///C:/Users/User/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/Temporary Internet Files/Content.IE5/TWXUQ3C6/p19_issue_1.pdf

Craig Cook: what next?
IronScorpion replied to Hamish McRaker's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
There is a story in the Daily Star of Craig Cook with 2 photos. Obviously previous years as he has CFS on his bike cover & he is folding his arms, as riders do, to show off their sponsors names. Oops! -
Scunthorpe v Newcastle League 10.5.19

The EWR is nothing compared to (B)Rough Park which does look like a paddy field. Last year, we used to have the wonder wheel go round to remove the "burm" of raised shale but our present crop of riders have not asked for a grading break. It is not mandatory! -
That is what I am led to believe, like for like plus any unused average up to your maximum. When it comes to 2 riders, I again, thought it was similar but if I remember, 2 riders came in last year for a combined average. It has just happened this week for Birmingham where they have brought in 2 riders at 9.71 & 2.00 for the 2 leaving at 5.71 & 5.00assesed. There must be reductions & spare average as the ones brought in is 11.71 & the ones leaving is 10.71. Others on here might put me right or explain it better(Neil Watson).

It's how you get moisture into a track &, hopefully, remain there to keep tractor breaks to a minimum. -

Re the weather ........damned if you do, damned if you don't. A few seasons ago, I went to a Scorpion meeting & as I approached the stadium( I think I reached the mini roundabout with the car garages), we had an, unexpected, torrential downpour which upon reaching the stadium, had flooded the track. Rob & his crew gave it about 30 minutes, removed the excess water from bends 1 & 3, bladed the track back then put more shale down. Although the riders got filled in in the early heats, the racing improved with the riders giving it a go with the race times only a couple of seconds slower than normal. I, also, have been to a meeting where rain was expected & we tried to push the meeting through only for the dark clouds & rain to appear & curtail the meeting. As I live approximately 4 miles south of the stadium, but still in Scunthorpe, I arrived home to find the roads bone dry. -

I would expect most teams to increase as programmed rides equates to 42 points. I just do not know why we have 3 leagues with team declarations set at 42.5, 38 & 36 in the 3 divisions. -
Scunthorpe v Redcar CS 26.4.2019
IronScorpion replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Neil knows his stuff so take that as gospel. Weather forecast seems to have changed, and we know what happened with the forecast Wednesday & Birmingham cancelled. Hardy any rain materialised.. Even from now, Rob will have this meeting on so turn up in your droves as a runner up spot is begging. -
Scunthorpe v Redcar CS 26.4.2019
IronScorpion replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
This result might depend on track prep with a bit of rain forecast. Danny Ayres is not our reserve as he is in our 1-5. The new Green Sheet Averages came out yesterday but do not apply until the 1st of May & there is not much change to any teams riding order. -
With 3 teams from 2018 not riding this year plus there should be enough spare dates to rearrange, calling it off was the wise move. I would think most of the riders would not be local so travel time is to be allowed & riders have to be there a lot earlier than the supporters.

Get it in when you can as no one likes a fixtures build up towards the end of the season. I seem to remember reading that time constraints have been put on this year to get fixtures on by the BSPA/SCB. -

It will be a BSPA decision. -
As Jordan Palin is only 15, he can only ride NL this year. As has been said, he lives fairly local(within an hour) & has been at the EWR some 4 or 5 years now under the tutorialage of Wane Carter so knows the ins & outs of Scunthorpe Speedway & the family. Once he turns 16(in 2020) he will be available to ride for both Scunthorpe & Belle Vue but I would, personally, let him develop for 2 years, at the least, in the NL for the Colts.

IronScorpion replied to stevebrum's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely he should know that the rules have not changed much from last year. Any 2 from your top 5 by CMA or from top 3 scorers from programmed rides. Now added in 2019 for supporters trophy, the 2 riders voted for in heat 14 cannot ride in 15. -

IronScorpion replied to mike7164's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He could have stepped down on numerous occasions last year but failed to do so. After scoring 11 for Belle Vue on Friday, maybe he thinks he has still got it but the NSS is nice & wide so doesn't have to throttle off going in to the 1st bend at the start of a race. He was nearly always on the pace but it was his inability to mix it in the 1st bend & lack of conviction when trying to pass, saw a lot of us vent our displeasure last year.
