might not be such a bad thing if thats the case. as long as its run properly and secures the future of the club. To be honest i dont think the sport has much time left unless something major happens.
-
totally agree steve. Maybe they are just gonna say that this is our last season in the top flight if things dont change and the club will then go up for sale if it doesnt work out. Also that they tried to sign linus but it didnt come off. Could be many things. Could be that they are trying to put a good team next season and they have signed 2 or 3 world class heat leaders and they need the fans to support them. when i read a paper i am normally sitting down anyway.

maybe they are just trying to build a bit more interest up as there is not much at the moment.

and watch them make the same cock up again next year. I wonder if anyone has actually told louis that us the fans who keep their business afloat think they do a crap presenting job and totally wreck what little atmosphere there is allowed to be. It also does my head in that they introduce the riders and then 2 minutes late introduce them again always to the 20 people in the main stand that give a half hearted clap. Please louis introduce them once and then get on with it. -

no more first bend problems than any other track. I think there was 3 incidents in 21 races. -

its such a shame that tonight of all nights that the racing was a total flop. Not one overtake until heat 15. Its the first time ever that i have left a meeting early it was that boring. Another great shame that i begged 8 of my friends that have never been to speedway before and they wont be going to another one. As an ipswich fan i am so sad that after waiting years and years for a big meeting to be put on the racing was that poor. I can now see it being many years to get another big meeting. -

Was a shame about Scott pulling out as after Harris had said he was not in it(or his manager) it was down to Scott to do some blasting around the fence, but then he was gone, then Danny pulled out after a couple of painfull laps by the look of it. That only really left Sheilds Troy and Robert to battle it out for the title. And Robert made a great pass after tailing Sheilds for 9 laps, and deserved to win, being the best rider on display and cruising to 4 easy wins in his heats by a straight every time. Well done to Robert in what has been a really good return to our team, and hope he picksup an award at the end of season presentation. -

I love watching Holder going flat out into the turns, he really does ride it like he has stolen it. A lot of Ipswich fans have never seen anothermeeting apart from at Foxhall, i bet this chap is one of them. -

So apparently after being told for weeks that Bomber was riding in this event, it seems that he never was. Such a shame as Harris is one of only a few riders that can make a pass on the track. -

Ive been saying all year about Fozz and his monotone voice. As soon as he introduces the riders on the parade lap in pairs, my excitement for that evening dissapears almost immediatly. Why dont they have an evening at the local pub or something and ask peoplre to come along and apply for the post, someone that has a good voice and knows how to inject enthusiasm, like the chap at Eastbourne and Lakeside do. -

Well agin i thought the racing was rubbish apart from that one race. Once Barker blew his best engine it was good night from him as far as being competative was concerned. Tia started ok but then went backwards, and Darcy wasnt as good as i was hoping he was gonna be, but you can see he has alot of talent for someone so young. -
The 2009 Elite League Riders' Championship
Baldyman replied to tomcat's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
I actually thought the meeting was ok, but as for good racing no, it was close in some races only due to the fact that there was not a single bit of dirt on the track so only reaaly Bomber made passes on riders that were slower than him. You only had to look at the dirt coming from the back wheels, nothing. And the tractors were grading nothing. Did Ole do the track prep? Even the coventry fans i was sitting next to were sying the track was as slick as they have seen it all year and were dissapointed too. Seems to be the norm though, Big event= crap track. -

as soon as she knows what she is doing she will be off doing something else. Speedway is onlt a stepping stone to bigger and better things. Imuch prefer her than Green, he is always trying to crack a joke that just aint funny, thank god we hardly have to put up with him anymore. Oh and Charlie is pretty fit, so i dont mind her at all. -
So i will have to watch the speedway on onr tv and watch Bradly Smith on another.
-
thank you.

So can anyone confirm if its on at 10, 11 or when?

Well i feel a bit sorry for Danny King, he has a higher average than Tai, and rode on that track for the 2 previous seasons, but obviously sky comentators dont mention his name enough.
