Outrup take on Slangerup at 6pm UK time tonight. Slangerup have brought in Zengota at 1 to replace Monberg. Otherwise they are unchanged from the side that was well beaten on Wednesday night. Outrup look strong again. Walasek is in at 1. Kenni Larsen and Korneliussen complete a strong top 3.Ex-Diamond Jonas Raun makes his comeback after several years out and will be interesting to monitor his progress. Outrup 1 Greg Walasek 2 Kenni Arendt Larsen 3 Mads Korneliussen 4 Claes Nedermark 5 Jonas Raun Slangerup 1 Greg Zengota 2 Kenneth Kruse Hansen 3 Mikkel Michelsen 4 Nicki Barrett 5 Kenni Nissen Personally I can only see a comfortable home win, but you never know in speedway. The action starts at 6pm UK time @ www.kanalsport.dk

I think it was always going to be the case that Monberg V Andersen was bit of a non-contest, but at the same time I don't think they expected Vissing to clean up as a C rider. With the exception of his exclusion, which was somewhat unfortunate, he got a paid max! Any team that gets a paid max from their C rider will take some stopping.

I dare say it a collection at the next King's Lynn home meeting would be a good place to start. Lewis Blackbird is out for a while aswell, and if I heard correctly, the Mildenhall supporters raised approx £850 for him. (I don't know where that figure came from, it just sticks in my head for some reason). It would be a start, although clearly wouldn't cover everything. I think it'd be wishful thinking to get the BSPA involved. I know the costs are horrendous, but who's to say X rider should get some money and not Y rider?

I'm guessing Barrett is a bit annoyed right now! I'm not sure how the squads would work in the proposed league. But Slangerup are riding without an A rider - throw in Hancock instead of Monberg (who has been awful tonight) and they don't look too bad at all - in this league anyway. They also have Zetterstrom in the squad.

Michelsen on TR/Joker here. Slangerup really need a big heat.

Looks like Slangerup are going to lose their first home match in 5(!) years.

www.kanalsport.dk Install the plug-in, and then you are good to go. Lars Munkedal expects them to be ready in a few minutes. The track doesn't look too bad at all. First few races might be bit tricky, but should be okay after that if it doesn't rain anymore.

The match has been put back to 7pm Danish time/6pm UK time due to a wet track. I assume it is then they will decide to go ahead or not. If not, they will repeat the match from Monday night. That's the basic gist of what the message says. Edit: Now put back 'til 6.15pm UK time.

Just saw that aswell, Iris. I think everyone will be praying for a dry Tuesday....you know the weather is bad when you are running out of dates in early May!!

No worries, BB48. But if it wasn't me, it would've been someone else instead. Kanal Sport are new to showing Speedway. They only started recently. Last week (or was it the week before?) was their first match, so they are still very new to it. They don't have the budget of SKY, so it would be unfair to compare it to SKY, but it's still pretty good I think. I would personally prefer it if they spend more time concentrating on the battles at the back. Other than that, I certainly have no complaints. The stream is good and reliable (so far) and it's free, which is an added bonus! Next up is a trip to Sjælland tomorrow to see Slangerup V Fjelsted. And it really is Fjelsted this time. I have triple-checked! The expected team line-ups: Slangerup: 1 Jesper B Monberg 2 Kenneth Kruse Hansen 3 Mikkel Michelsen 4 Nicki Barrett 5 Kenni Nissen Fjelsted 1 Hans N Andersen 2 Rene Bach 3 Peter Kildemand 4 Claus Vissing 5 Henrik Møller Slangerup is one of the few tracks in Denmark I haven't been to, so I'm personally looking forward to seeing a new Danish track. But if I know Speedway in Denmark, it'll probably be in the middle of a field somewhere! The match begins at 5.30pm UK time. Fjelsted look a lot stronger to me, so I'm expecting an away win. Slangerup will be a lot stronger once Hancock is able to ride. He's in their squad but is unavailable until June, sadly. Kanal Sport are also scheduled to show the Danish Final live on 16th May. However, the semi-final was moved to Outrup (from Esbjerg, which was cancelled twice), but that was cancelled tonight, so God knows when they'll be able to fit it in.
  12. He also went into the airfence at a fair old rate of knots in heat 9 when he avoided irving & Halsey. Either could've caused machinery problems. Phillips looks okay. They develop so quickly at that age, especially if they are surrounded by people who are able to give them solid advice. It won't be long before the scores start to come, especially at home.

Bjerre did when it mattered. Tight match, even though the racing wasn't the greatest. It's Slangerup on Wednesday, starting again at 5.30pm GMT. The opponents are Fjelsted (really!)

I've seen him have some great meetings - score something like 14 on his first visit to King's Lynn and topscored at Esbjerg (in the superliga) a few years back, but other times he looks like he does tonight! Little bit inconsistent/frustrating, to put it mildly! That said, he doesn't seem to have any speed tonight at all

Unless you're behind Peter Juul Larsen...so it seems. Racing has been much better over the last few heats after a slow start

I haven't been for a few years now, and it does look like it has changed a fair bit, but the main parking when i've been has always been in the field you mention. Always fun when it has rained! I'd consider Holsted & Grindsted to be more of a local derby, though. Outrup and Esbjerg are within an hour's drive, aswell, so you have 4 tracks that are all quite close to each other.

Sorry guys! Must have had Fjelsted on my mind for some unknown reason! :/ Must be losing it! Iris is right, as per the norm. It's Grindsted & ESBJERG tonight. It's probably the plugin required, G the Bee. Don't worry, it's nothing harmful.

I concur, Iris. I remember a match I went to a few seasons ago. Kylmakorpi was riding at 3 for one (can't remember which) and Leon Madsen was riding for the others. They were both riding at number 3. Kylmakorpi was looking good, but was up against Madsen in practically every single heat he was in, and Madsen was flying that day! It's not a format I am that keen on (I prefer 7 man teams if only 2 teams are riding) but it does seem to work quite well. You don't come across that many huge wins in the top league. I don't know why they changed the DS league either. I know some people have been quite critical of the 4 team matches, due to a lack of riding as a team, but it always worked well I thought. The one good thing about that format is that it was nearly always competitive. Sometimes the top team were too good, or there was a team that was outclassed, but it was always close score wise between 2nd or 3rd, or 3rd and 4th, etc. And there was more races too! But anyway, onwards and upwards. Monday night sees Fjelsted visit Grindsted at 5.30pm UK time. Grindsted have made 2 changes to the side that lost at local rivals Outrup. Kenneth Bjerre comes in to replace his little brother. They've also brought in 19 year old Swede Mathias Thörmblom. Fjelsted have decided to rest Leon Madsen, so Mikkel B Jensen takes over the captaincy. Peter Juul is their D rider for the meeting, and he has plenty of experience at Grindsted and could be bit of a trump card down at reserve. (Now watch him score 0000!) Expected line-ups for the meeting: Grindsted 1 Kenneth Bjerre (A) 2 Michael Jepsen Jensen ( 3 Linus Sundström ( 4 Mattias Thörmblom ( C) 5 Johannes Kikkenborg (D) Fjelsted 1 Niels-Kristian Iversen (A) 2 Mikkel B Jensen ( 3 Patryk Dudek ( 4 Steen Jensen ( C) 5 Peter Juul Larsen (D)
  21. The weather forecast on Wednesday actually looks pretty decent. Technical error perhaps? Hopefully not! Based on the first leg, I suspect the teams will line-up as: 1 James Cockle 2 Brendan Johnson 3 Lewis Kerr 4 Adam Lowe 5 Jake Knight R/R 6 Tom Stokes 7 Scott Campos 1 Cameron Heeps 2 Cameron Heeps Joe Jacobs 3 Stefan Nielsen 4 Daniel Halsey 5 Lewis Blackbird 6 Nathan Stoneman 7 Josh Bates Mildenhall have a 15 point lead from their home leg.

Denmark is CET, so 6.30pm there is 5.30pm here in the UK. Good to know the stream is back. It was down the last time I checked.
  23. I think he's bit of a regular at Scunthorpe's amateur meetings. He came 2nd to Jerran Hart (and above Phillips) at the most recent Amateur meeting.
  24. Can anyone recommend any decent/reasonable hotels in or near Gorican, Croatia?

Here's the PDF from the most recent meeting. http://speedway-league.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/500-05-01-2012-OSC-GSK-1.pdf It's far from ideal, but it shows the format. 14 heats - 13 & 14 are nominated. The number 4's race against each other 4 times! That's the format for the top league. The 1st Division (effectively 2nd Division) have a new format, which is raced between 3 teams.
