Impressive side so far.
Side looks to be built like it should, not ridiculously top heavy, like some will be.
-
Interesting response.
Does anyone know anything specific about speedway riders and insurance?
Is speedway so potentially dangerous that taking out insurance is too prohibitively expensive?
Riders are generally deducted basic insurance @ source, usually at £5 per race, IIRC.
It's then up to the individual rider if they want to take out additional, and more comprehensive, insurance cover.

Well you can forget at least 1 of those!!!
Wouldn't have thought Poole would be interested in Auty....
-
15 divided by 5 = 3
3 times 4 = 12
12 is his average.
Noone should have an average over 12. It's not possible. I'm quite pleased with the changes this year, but the x1.4 formula is this years 'Heat leader list'. Wheras everything else seems pretty straight, this is an artificial multiplier made up at he AGM and (crucially IMO) .....this artificial figure is allowed to break reality.
Imagine trying to explain this to anyone outside the sport. 'But how can someone have an average above what's physically possible??'
The Premiership 'averages' are only artificial. Guys like Doyle won't be expecting to get near their average.
People are taking the term 'average' far too literally with the new averages.

Maybe your teams going to be built without a 2 pointer. Coventry for example are rumoured to be having Sarj and Bates in reserve. Maybe Somerset are going down a similar route. No 10+ men but also no sub 5 pointers.
Somerset tried to get Mountain, but believe he turned them down, so looks unlikely they are going for the well-rounded approach.

Yeah but he's a PL rider taking up 7.63 , if we were going to sign someone for his gating skills Klindt would had been a better option lets hope he's still in the frame as opposed to some of the low standard riders we are linked to i.e Lykke!
Don't think Lykke will happen now, as Rosco appears to have a broken calculator.
-
Maybe I'm reading too much into things but does anyone else think the promotion have the other 4 members of the team already signed, just not announced. The road we're going down seems to suggest (to me at least) that we will have Bewley, Lunna and Smith as 3 of the next 4.
All Championship sides are practically complete, with the exception of sides arguing over 2 pointers. A good 2 pointer can literally name their price with the ridiculous rules.

Doyle 13.412.Bellego 7.63Ellis 7.84Morris 7.816.7.13.31That is far from disastrous.Morris' average is incorrect. From memory, he's a shade short of 9 pt average.

What about James shanes. He's local
Didn't his family used to work at the track or something?
-
Could it be that Bellego is happy to not double-up?
There must be either a rule or a logistical limit to the number Premiership teams can have?
That's a valid point Matt, and one I had forgotten about.
Bowden did say there was a limit of 2 double uppers.
-
Bellego is bit of a weird signing.
Really don't think he has anything that Sedgmen (near identical average + asset (I think)?) doesn't, but time will tell.

Reserves would have to be too weak.
I think many teams will be safricing strength at reserve
-
Looks like no Eddie Kennett then.
What makes you think that?
-
I hate to sound so negative but how on earth will the books balance come October in 2017?
Nearly all teams (in UK, Denmark, Poland, Sweden) need to be reasonably heavily sponsored to make ends meet. In the event of insufficient sponsorship, that gap is usually met by the owners usually via one of their other business.

I think you may have over estimated Watts average by about 4 SH54
Combined total for the 3 at Rye about 26. Kennett would take to 36 leaving 14ish for final 3.
Still room for a Schlein or a Jorgensen before filling the reserve berths....
Or a Robson?
-
He's right though.
Who do you honestly think is going to sign for us? Even Bates and Garrity aren't certs now Havvy has gone. Rye will have a far better team than us.
Noone knows quite yet, but Rye House certainly won't be the whipping boys of the Premiership, so looks like they will have a better team than many!

Justin Sedgmen has just tweeted "any clubs in UK feel free to sign me", so unfortunately it looks like he is not riding for Swindon.
You can add Nielsen to that list too
-
What about Steffen Nielsen I would rather have him at no 1 if possible
Not convinced a 750 mile round trip would be financially feasible for either party in NL, to be honest.

Chris out because even if he scored a maximum every meeting, he still couldn't attain his average.
Jack in.
He has a 10.5 (ish) average in relative terms, hardly unachievable. Certainly achievable if he brings his GP form into the country.
Sounds like Ford thinks strength in depth is the route to go, and that's why Holder has been shown the door.
-
Obviously Swindon.
Why obviously?
-
Sorry to butt in on a Poole topic but as a Plymouth fan who watched them all season,Newman yes jack holder yes,Brady Kurtz yes but stay away from Todd Kurtz honestly guys he is truly pants and you will drop him as quick as you sign him.
Kurtz was lowering his average for Plymouth, that much was clear.
-
If C Holder doesn't come back for Poole how will that effect his visa will Poland/Sweden sponsor him
Maybe he will end up at a different UK club?
-
Mark Baseby? Jesus Christ.
He's no Kevin Brice, that's for sure.

Jack is 6.92 on Plymouths last sheet
No, he's not.
I think you are either looking at the wrong sheet, or reading the wrong column.
Palm Toft's average is now also above 7.
