Pleased to report to that Ulrich was discharged from hospital in Edinburgh this afternoon, he is now flying back to his family in Denmark (via Glasgow & Stanstead) to start his recovery. I know he’s been blown away by the concern the shown by the supporters of Glasgow & Peterborough and the fans in general.

Just had a watch - interesting camera work and commentary!

So was Lawson's move on Ostergaard just good hard racing or was it a bit naughty?

Well done to Panthers, very pleased for Big Ulle riding with a nasty arm injury sustained at Scunny yesterday - man of steel that lad! -
I thought the coverage last night was great! The Pearson and Tatum combination works well for me, good banter and so what if there is the odd mistake! Scott Nicholls is so at ease and professional at his job, whilst Abi is no Natalie Quirk give her a bit of time to settle into the role. Good to see the housewives favourite David Rowe updating from Kings Lynn as well. Overall, a very encouraging start to Eurosport's coverage - I hope they got decent viewing figures.

Awfully sad news. RIP Jon.

Sad to read that former Reading promoter Mark Legg has died. Mark funded the purchase of the promoting rights at Reading from BSI during the 2007 season and was at the helm for the club’s final season in 2008. I enjoyed being part of his team during his tenure at Smallmead and always got on well with him, my condolences to his family and friends.

Yep, Andrew S on the case - just letting Frigbo know that others are in the same boat.
-
yep, me too - 4 out of 4 no sign of mine again this week! Out of interest, any idea who looks after Speedway Star's Twitter account?
-
Maybe mate. But me answering the door in my dressing gown is worth the trek down the drive :-)

Sadly another no show for my copy. 3 out of 3 now, I’ve dropped an email over. Shame that News Team are failing what sounds like a very small % of subscribers. Frustrating though when you’re in that small %.
-
Andrew S has now emailed thanks Phil. Hopefully this week’s edition will show up at some point. appreciate you’re doing your best to keep things going!
-
Phil, I didn’t receive my copy last week and nothing as yet today. I emailed Subs@pinegen & tweeted twice but no response which is disappointing I fully understand that delivery process changes can lead to problems, but a lack of response to messages isn’t great. My subscription is out of loyalty rather than need, so I do expect a bit of better customer service to be honest! Paul

Poole Pirates 2021
The H Man replied to Pirates Of Poole's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If there is a 99 year lease signed in 1996, there is a more than a glimmer of hope then, if someone was to acquire Poole Stadium Limited for example! -

Any have any idea how long the lease was that was signed by Poole Stadium Limited (BS Group/Gaming Intl) with the freeholders in late 1995? -

Apologies if this has already been asked/covered elsewhere on this topic Is Poole Speedway's lease direct with the stadium owner (BCP?) or do they sub-lease from our friends at Gaming International? -
I don't foresee that as a major issue - Paramedics are readily available privately and most A&E's are less stretched than they have been for some time. Viable numbers of supporters being allowed through the gate is going to be the biggest challenge still - which is why I think it will be the stadiums which are promoter owned that will stage the first set of meetings.

A Somerset type of project would be wonderful, we all keep our fingers firmly crossed it might happen one day. -

Indeed the downpour helped produce a decent track, but when the Saturday afternoon inspection from the Council's H&S man initially concluded that the grass banks were too wet to allow the punters to use, panic set in I'll tell you! So many great stories from time with the Racers/Bulldogs. -

The Easter 3TT were great occasions in mid 80s big crowds at all 3 venues. -

The land was sold by the council to the owners of Green Park, which occupies the large office developments adjacent to J11 of M4. I believe the plan was to develop the land into stage 3 of the Green Park development. This never happened due to the recession of 2008 and is highly unlikely to happen anytime soon. I was waiting for someone to blame BSI for the closure, they actually ensured we had speedway 2006-2008 because at the end of 2005 the track and related speedway infrastructure would not have been able to continue in its current guise. Stadia UK acquired the lease from Pat Bliss and Martyn Dore in 2001 but failed to secure the long term future of the stadium with the council except a couple of short term extensions to an expiring lease on the pretence they would develop a new stadium on land allocated to them just a Mile up the road! Like every other Stadia UK project that failed miserably and the rest is history. So unless a multi millionaire speedway fan fancies buying the old site back from Green Park owners and convincing authorities around developing site for leisure then sport is gone forever in the town. -
Spot on THJ I’ve known Ulle for a long time and my company sponsor him. He’ll be much better prepared physically and equipment wise at the start of this season compared to last. Two big spills in 2018 saw him very rusty and not 100% right at the start of last season add in riding at number 1 in a struggling team set him back. But look what he was starting to do for Redcar and then did for Newcastle, where he put in consistently good scores around a track that didn’t really suit his style. Age is just a number where Ulle is concerned he’s a very fit lad, who takes diet very seriously and a whole season without any major knocks in 2019 sees him really great shape and relishing the opportunity to ride for Glasgow. All I’ll say to any doubters is give him the chance and I think you’ll be happy to be proved wrong. cheers Paul.

Glasgow have done a deal with a young (at heart anyway) Danish rider I hear! He’ll be a great asset on and off the track!

The Tigers could always sign another Dane to bring home the bacon....!
