  1. Hello Lulu, I think you are gorgeous (hic) must put more water in me whisky! Yeah Deeks meeting is more important to his Edinburgh/Newcastle fans than the Newcastle match at Plymouth whenever it will be. We turned down a possible date so what, it happens all the time
  2. Here we go all the way from the north east to the south coast for a league match hoping to come away with some league points. A weakened bottom of the table side like Sheffield went to Plymouth and only lost by 9 points so look out you devils the "weakened" diamonds are coming, it should be a closer match than Sheffield's with a possible last heat decider job on the cards. How big is the Plymouth track and what are the bends like? big and fast or small and tricky? Whatever happens I hope the Diamonds entertain an no-one gets injured
  3. yes I agree our promoters do not want to cause hardship for fans and families by helping with a few pounds off. Personally I would urge fans that come most weeks to buy season tickets. Then situations like the coming two matches would not be a problem
  4. The long range weather forecast is not good for this match on Sunday. Weather forecasts often get changed so fingers crossed for a dry track on Sunday and Monday. I believe Newcastle's place in the play offs is now secure but we still want maximum league points from these two matches otherwise what is the point of staging them. If the Monarchs beat us on Sunday we will still be in the play offs and if drawn against them later, that will be a different kettle of fish. We were top of the league in 2012 and lost out in the play offs so this time the lads will bust guts (whatever that means!)to win the title
  5. I have been more impressed by Cook than with any other rider this season, I wish we had him! Brough Parks tight turns do not bother him at all but yes I agree, Newcastle have riders that can scorch to victory against anyone, so Cook will have to overcome challenges from practically anyone in the diamonds side.I expect this match to be a classic so come on guys go out there and entertain. My mate "Jack of Diamonds" and I write the History Column in Newcastle's match day magazine (It's our Programme if you haven't seen it).The Mag I believe will have an extra 4 pages and will be used for both the Edinburgh and Plymouth matches. Our History Column will be featured twice in the Mag so you should have a good read and save a couple of quid. Let's hope the diamonds can beat the monarchs to set Newcastle up to trounce Plymouth on Monday The Edinburgh match will pull in a decent crowd and I hope sufficient fans turn up on the Monday, Plymouth not as attractive as Edinburgh and not many Plymouth fans will fancy the long drive oop north
  6. Yeah Baldyman I think in finals over two legs the promoters should get their heads together could help the travelling fans by reducing entrance costs we all are paying way to much for petrol etc so a bit of a sweetener would be for the home promotion to discount entry for the travelling away fans and for the return match if the promotion could math the other promotion. It is so expensive to follow your team isn't it. The witches look a very solid side but who knows we might get classic last heat deciders at both legs. I think the diamonds can do it over two legs but such is the strength of Ipswich we might get well beaten down in Suffolk. If the witches take the honours well good luck to them, come on the diamonds

    Newcastle Diamonds 2014

We have done well in bringing over Danes and Swedes over the years, so maybe that is where some of the 2014 team will come from. If Richie goes Elite full time we need another out and out number 1 for the new season and he needs to be able to "Hit the Ground Running" with big scores. I would love to see Craig Cook ride for us if he fancies a move down here. I hope Lewis wants to stay with us in 2014 as he is coming along nicely, he just needs to learn some passing manoeuvres but really he has done so well in 2013 he is a hot prospect and may be tempted away as other promotions will have him on their shopping lists
  8. A pretty small track. I know nothing about the venue and ain't likely to ever visit as is so far away from my Tyneside shack. Our riders perform well on most tracks so the tiddler way down south may just suit most of our team. I am told Anton Rosen likes bigger tracks so it will be interesting to see how he goes at Plymouth. He will have to adapt in the PL to varying tracks. Ricky Wells is a good rider who will score points on Friday, a good choice of guest. I think Newcastle may shock the home side. The Diamonds are a strong side and this is our last chance to do well in an away league match I Think? Wish I could be there but with the price of petrol I will give this long haul a miss and "watch it" on the live service on the Newcastle Website instead. I hope the diamonds are entertaining for the home fans and we come away with maximum league points
  9. Here come the Diamonds minus the injured Stuart Robson and with a new guy in the side, Anton Rosen, whom I think might like Berwick's big fast track. George English has been looking to bring in a replacement for Stuart rather than use R/R for the rest of the season so if he is successful in bringing in another rider The Berwick fans will have a lot of writing to do on Saturday night.
  10. We host Berwick in the Premier League on Sunday 1st September. Matches between the two sides are always entertaining and I hope we will all enjoy a match with exciting racing/passing and no injuries. Who knows if Newcastle will have a new face for this one? Anton Rosen (replacing Christian Henry) is a "new" face but he could be joined by an even newer face. It will be a crying shame if the diamonds miss out in the play offs because of Christian's and Robbo's injuries. Anton Rosen: I like what I have seen at Workington and Brough of Anton. I think he will be asked back in 2014 depending upon his efforts for the last few matches this season.
  11. I enjoy my trips up to Shielfield from Newcastle and the fourth bend is awesome. Someone with the guts to pass on the outside there will always get a medal from me. yes if the footie pitch wasn't there the track shape could be improved but the rangers are unlikely to agree to alterations to their pitch
  12. What a shame for Kozza, he is an entertaining rider but at least his injury was not as a result of another rider. In fact Andrew Tully coming close behind Kozza was applauded for laying down to miss the Aussie. It all happened in a couple of seconds and bang goes his wrist. Get well soon mate
  13. Well Newcastle thumped Berwick which would have pleased me if not for the injury to Kozza had he survived his first ride crash the match would have been much more entertaining. The Bandits need to brutally rebuild for 2014 to be in with a chance of winning anything. The Diamonds won the match at a canter to move up to fourth place in the PL. The lads will reach the playoffs and possibly the final despite 3 long term injuries to high scoring riders. If we miss out on the PL Title again after 2012 well it is due to injuries to 3 very good riders and we can say "We wuzz robbed" I think we will take the premier title as our lads are great away from home so look out the other top six teams the diamonds are sparkling Well Newcastle thumped Berwick which would have pleased me if not for the injury to Kozza had he survived his first ride crash the match would have been much more entertaining. 14. Rider replacement for Robbo. I am puzzled about it being at 5 in the team and also why we have used a reserve as rider replacement in heat 13 in both matches against the comets. Answers on a postcard please
  15. OK I will lock up my daughters and get myself a rabies shot. So come on down to watch the bandits get beaten
  16. I didn't know that. Ian Thomas is/was a VIP at Workington and Newcastle So the TT Trophy still has to be accommodated at Brough and SHOULDN'T be in the playoffs section of the season we could have an injury against Berwick that will jeopardise our play off matches.
  17. Well I agree that the Tyne Tweed trophy is not that important compared to league matches etc. I am amazed that it has taken until now to mention it. It has always been a season opener sort of affair. So why was it not run earlier? I don't particularly want to pay to see this match at Brough but as I have a season ticket I will come along and support it anyway. In future I hope this sort on fixture will happen in march/april. On Sunday last we had a SRBF collection. Young Anton was in my part of the crowd collecting cash. He signed autographs and posed for pics for mobile phones etc. I hope he builds on success with our 2 matches against Workington, 3 heat wins will do for me. Go on kidda you should be in the 2014 diamonds team
  18. Before this match we will know the result of the return match at Workington the night before. The comets always do well on Brough Parks much tighter track. 3 comets were at Brough last week. Richard Lawson, Rusty Harrison and Kyle Howarth. Kyle was pretty good and he will be confident on return a week later. I am happy that so many northern team are doing so well in the league. Newcastle needs the points more than Workington so look out comets the diamonds are at home and expect to win this one
  19. Matches between these two sides have been well worth the admission money home and away. Newcastle have been set back by the injury to Aussie Christian Henry and are bringing in a new rider Swede Anton Rosen. It may be to much to ask of Anton to chip in with Christians average score of around 7 points at Derwent Park but we Newcastle fans hope he can make the difference. The rest of the diamonds will cause the comets a few problems and I think the result will be close as it will on Sunday at Brough. Ludvig Lindgren is my banker for the two matches. If he rides like we know he can Newcastle will be in with a shout so no pressure on you Lightning eh!
  20. I hope it stays dry I hate driving to away matches with one eye on the clouds
  21. A broken leg for Stuart Robson at Peterborough on Friday night. get well soon Robbo. So, we bring in a new guy, Anton Robson rather than use R/R for Christian Henry and now we are using R/R for Robbos rides. Where do we go from here? Another new guy as a temporary replacement for Stuart? or R/R to seasons end? I suppose it depends upon how good Anton turns out to be. We have had another bad year with injuries
  22. Best wishes to Robbo a difficult man to replace as he can come out and win crucial heats. Anton Rosen needs to be good to rescue our chances in the play offs. I also favour signing someone to cover for Stuart but WHO! Can a comets fan give a couple of weather updates later today (Saturday) as it is very wet over on the eastern side and I am wavering over whether to travel over to Workington
  23. Whats wrong with the comets fans? You have an excellent team and I will be happy if the diamonds get a point from this. Both sides should make the playoffs which will be fine by me if we meet the comets again after this weekend. I hope the diamonds entertain at Derwent Park and the comets do likewise at Brough Park
  24. I know Lightning has a poor record on big tracks but if he is to progress he has to turn the corner so fingers crossed Saturday will be a good day for our fast swede
  25. Newcastle have had two riders out long term due to back injuries. Andrew Tully who missed the early part of the season and now Christian Henry whom is out for the rest of the season. Our promoters did not want to rely on R/R until the seasons end so they have brought in Anton Rosen. I think he is a team mate of Ludvig Lindgren in Sweden so will no doubt have come well recommended by Lightning Ludvig. The Diamonds have lost a few league points just lately and we all hope Anton can hit the ground running home and away but as we have mainly home league fixtures left the Swede really has to get to grips with our tighter bends that he is used to. First match for Anton will be away to Workington. Maybe he will go well there on a big track before making his home debut also against the comets at Brough on the 25th August
