  1. As a Rene Bach fan I am pleased his injury wasn't as bad as feared. Why do I keep thinking he will cop a max and see Newcastle off? Ok yeah its a team event and you have another rider in Adam Roynon whom is likely to be unbeaten too. Newcastle's away record shows we are great at getting 3-3's with a couple of 4-2's to go with the 3-3's. Our achilles heel is heats 13 and 15 I am not confident that we can scrape even a 3-3 in these two heats, but having said that we have 5 riders that are likely to win other heats. Hard to forecast not knowing who the guest for Richie Worral will be. Hey if Newcastle still had the talented twins I think we would win this tie. With Workingtons problems over continuing next season in mind I hope this meeting is exciting for the home fans and goes to a last heat decider but then for Newcastle's nominated riders ride out of their skins and get us through to meet Ipswich
  2. Rockin Robin may fit but hasn't Steve Worrals guest got to be a NL rider like Paul Starke? Do any Workington fans know what their line up will be?
  3. Hi Dontforgetthefueltapsbruv Right now we at Newcastle would settle for being in Ipswich's position. You have done well to reach the final whilst we have a tough match in Cumbria to negotiate before we can meet you. If we get to the final I will be happy to see Dakota North again. He won a lot of fans when he was here on Tyneside and averaging 6.49 he would be likely to cause his old team some problems Is Abbott there? Any news on the guests for saturday?
  4. Hiya whatsyour name, I will call you Fred. My name is Daniel Todan. Although friends call me John! Cannot imagine why! We oop north think Workington v Newcastle should have been the KO Cup final I am looking forward to Ipswich v NEWCASTLE! in the final but the comets might think otherwise, so keep it to yourself eh!
  5. Ah a dyslexic Ipswich fan. You stand no chance. If we beat Workington we will beat you. If Workington beat us they will beat you. All newcastle fans hope Rene is ok though we don't mind if he sits this one out
  6. After the set backs against Somerset the Diamonds must bounce back against the Lions if the diamonds are to finish their 2012 league campaign in style.
  7. Hi NJC71 There are 5 days of healing, to go to the 2nd leg. I think Richard Lawson will be ok and maybe Rene too. True we ran them close at DP, a few months back. But past efforts count for nothing. All of our riders are struggling for points at the moment, and we have no pair of riders that can compete in heats 13 and 15. I really hope that a couple of the Diamonds can compete at DP with Roynon, Lawson, Bach Arnio and co. but I doubt it If the Comets close down as per the rumours. I think we should open our money boxes and sign as many of their riders as we can afford. Bringing back Rene for 2013 would be a major coup for George/Darryl
  8. Hey Workington are a great side. Young Kyle should not be singled out. All riders have bad meetings. Newcastle have an uphill struggle in the 2nd leg. Each and everyone of the diamonds need to up their game. Workington aggregate win would take my cash if I was a gambler but no, I am a dreamer. On 20th newcastle to win 50-40 ha ha yeah alright the diamonds season looks over, but go on Mark and Stu prove me wrong have your best away match against the comets.
  9. Talking Shi-ite is normal on this forum. We should appoint someone with nowt better to do to create a league table of shi-ite. The top six in the table to go into a play off situation to find the champion bull sh!tter. Oh no what have I done! I may get nominated for the champion
  10. Don't we all Arson! What is good is that speedway is not completely predictable
  11. Talking of tracks closing made me check how long Newcastle have gone this time. We used to close down and reopen quite often from 1929 onwards. The Diamonds closed 1994 and reopened 1997, we have had 16 years unbroken since 1997. George English has been promoter/team manager for 16 years and hopefully he will clock up a few more. Hats off to George he must be doing a good job, yes I know there are others behind George like Darryl Illingworth but George is in the foreground. If Newcastle could close and then come back against the odds and lasted 16 years plus, Workington can do the same. Good luck comets and if you close remember Newcastle. If you close and later come back maybe you can equal the diamonds and run for 16 years at least too Look out for turbo charged diamonds on sunday. We are desperate to win something after finishing top of the league (which means nowt). You have my current favourite rider Rene Bach. Always happy to watch him even if he takes points off our lads.
  12. It will be great to have some Workington fans at Brough. I would be amazed and angry if the track produces as many crashes as last time. great that the promoters are offering such a cheap entry. £5.00 is nowt, so come and take advantage. Maybe all promoters should get together and make these offers commonplace otherwise speedway may self destruct as too expensive by half. I hope the comets continue next year, otherwise some of us will have no one to have a go at
  13. I Love this forum, seems you can post from your Psychiatric ward Looks like we have to wait for the official word on Newcastles reserve guests. A fit Adam Roynon will cause the diamonds a problem or two. Personally I like my matches to be between two strong as possible sides so Adam coming back is a good thing for spectators as he is great to watch. Our team is capable of winning, if all perform like we know they can. Newcastle to reach the final? Er yes, 50-40 both matches eh? what! yes matron, I am out of bed again!
  14. Newcastle v Workington KO Cup 1st leg Newcastle Diamonds 1. Stuart Robson 2. Claes Nedermark 3. Mark Lemon 4. Christian Henry 5. Ludvig Lindgren 6.? 7. ? Does anyone know who the guest reserves will be And Can a Workington fan supply the Workington team This is Newcastles last chance of some success.
  15. I Thought Rene wanted away from Sundays to leave him free for his continental commitments and that is why he went to Workington. I will always be a fan of Rene wherever he rides, his blasts from the back were developed at Brough Park not Derwent Park. If the Comets have to close I am sure our promoters would love to try and fit him in again.
  16. No thank you. We do not need Matty as we already have 3 great middle order men Henry, Lindgren and Nedermark. If they are coming back in 2013 we need a genuine number 1 rider to win us heat 13s and 15s. Then if we still have the Worralls, Richie will be our second heat leader and we need to get a good reserve to partner Steve.
  17. After the Somerset matches it will be good to face a "lesser" team in Leicester. No disrepect towards the Lions just my opinion that Leicester will not be the tough nut that Somerset were, whilst still being a good side. A good home win is what the doctor orders so go on Diamonds give us something to shout about
  18. Will Richie and Steve come back to Newcastle? They are not our assets remember. Team building for next year could see Robbo and Lemmo gone but also a big question mark over the twins
  19. not this time Abbott. No updates via Newcastle website and it is looking unlikely that Speedway Updates forum has a texter. Just checked again and the Newcastle Site does appear to be covering the match so aopologies if I have misled anyone
  20. Newcastle Diamonds 1. Stuart Robson 2.Claes Nedermark 3. Mark Lemon 4. Christian Henry 5. Ludvig Lindgren 6. ? 7.Joe Haines (Guest) Not sure of the NEWCASTLE line up does anyone know what we are doing about the reserves situation? Also can a Leicester fan supply the leicester team line up
  21. sensible move by both clubs to stage home and away double headers. Commuting to each track takes all day and the weather doesn't fill you with confidence. Hopefully it will be dry on Friday and Sunday and both fixtures will be raced off
  22. Yes agreed every match has depended upon how Lemo and Robbo performed. I think the guys have done their best every match but neither of them are out and out number 1 riders even though they have ended the season as our top two riders. I am not critiscizing them but the diamonds have had so much success because of their second strings. I hope the lads go well at Leicester and entertain the home fans and maybe we can sneak a win! as a close match with 1 point is not enough this time
  23. On our travels we have pushed the home teams close all season picking up the odd point most away matches but have found it hard to actually get wins away. Leicester are a good side as are the Diamonds so who knows what will happen. It would be great to finish our league campaign by doing the double but that is doubtful. If Claes moves back up we need a good guest for Richie. I presume we can bring a guest in again? Let me be the first to congratulate our promoters for a really good season 2012. Mistakes may have been made but all in all a big thank you to George, Darryl, Andrew and co. I have enjoyed my speedway this year. Lets have more of this in 2013
  24. just checked the weather forecast for the return legs at Newcastle on sunday. Its looking like an overcast but DRY day so we might just get all 4 matches completed. I will be interested to hear what size the crowd is tonight
  25. The teams courtesy "SPEEDWAY UPDATES" are as follows: - 1. Jason Doyle - 2. Alex Davies - 3. Jesper B Monberg - 4. James Wright - 5. Claus Vissing - 6. Kyle Newman - 7. Tom Perry - 1. Stuart Robson - 2. R/R for Richie Worrall - 3. Mark Lemon - 4. Christian Henry - 5. Ludvig Lindgren - 6. Brendan Johnson (Guest) - 7. Claes Nedermark
