  1. A typical reply from this person. musnt say anything nasty about Peterborough or their riders eh?

I see you just picked up on the ONE negative comment I mentioned about Poole but you omitted to say anything about the positives I said?

This is just a fine example.

Yes I agree with you that after watching that match tiddlywinks would have been more interesting but I`m sure it was a one off" non passing" meeting although I hav`nt read any post as yet disagreeing with me have you?

I may be missing something here but I thought this site was for people to air their views?

Or are we not allowed to mentiom Peterborough?

I agree with you that this forum is about airing your views, now come on Mr Moore admit that Hans was hard done by last night and that he is a class rider whether you like him or not. Then I will have more respect for your comments. I don't expect one however or any positive replies on the forum aboUt the Panthers.

I was lucky to be at the press conference after the match last night and Hans was so pleased holding the trophy. I have a lovely photo of it so if you would like a copy send me a PM.

  2. typical panthers fan wearing his (hers) rose tinted specs??

Been no reply from Mr bratley as yet strange he usually comes on to defend his little soldier!!!

You are a sad man Mr Moore, you come on here every so often and on the Panthers page having a go at Hans or the Panthers. I see you even had a go at a Poole match you went to see and say how boring it was. I think your time would be better employed watching tiddlywinks in outer Mongolia, no controvesy and rivetting action.

  3. Who cares who was right, who was wrong or what happened between Scotty and Hans... It was a great race, great entertainment and great drama... I loved it! I would much rather have that than a dull race and a polite hand shake.. Brings back memory of the great days of Carter and Penhall.... More please!

Well said Cat, they were my thoughts as well. Roll on Saturday, I'll be there and hoping GB win. If that does not happen then club loyalties kick in and that means Denmark for me with Hans leading the way.

  4. Have just got back home to Peterborough after spending two nights at Poole. It cost me 120 pounds for the two nights stay, plus the 34 pounds for the tickets to see 6 races. I have not had time to go through all these posts but the ones I have read agree with what I feel, that the meeting could have carried on. In addition we enticed two people who do not live far from Poole to go for the first time. They did not know what to expect but were looking forward to it. I don't know if they will ever go again. I'm not saying I did not have a good weekend but my primary reason for going there was to see the speedway.

  5. Just got home from the showground. A good crowd for Ryan's testimonial and a super line up of riders. It was a four team tournament which was won by the Panthers quite comprehensively. The individual was one by Jesper who seems to be improving every meeting. NKI also showed some good speed today. Of the non Panthers riders then Bjarne Pedersen was the best. An enjoyable day for everyone with plenty of entertainment and the weather managed to hold off although it turned cold in the latter stages.

  6. Ian Turner, used to cause great amusement in the seventies by regularly turning up in a donkey jacket, much to Terry Betts's amusement who sent Ian a photograph inscribed "sponsored by Wimpey". This was mainly because the second half finalists at Lynn in those days all used to be given "rally jackets" every week to the point where Ian fancied something "different". He was also notoriously shy of publicity and recognition, preferring to let his actions on track do the talking.

He has not changed over the years. As I posted on the " best era of speedway", I see him every day. When I tell him he was one of my favourites he goes all bashful. Pinned a photo of him up on the office wall in his Kings Lynn days.Drives a lorry now and when he is nearly loaded I shout to him " Ian Turner is on two minutes". He normally comes back about 5 minutes later and says in our days two minutes was always a lot longer than it is today.Great guy.
