Hosting promoters not wanting to miss out on one of the best supported teams travelling to their clubs i would imagine.
Bees always take a large contingent of fans, and if there are just a handful of meetings for a side with the Coventry name, I guess they think we will travel in even larger numbers than usual
-
Brandon history makes Coventry the team they were..... without Brandon, they would be just be another team ......
Thats still a damn sight more than we currently are

I'm not sure how you read that from PhilfromCov's comments Speedibee, but that isn't what hes saying at all.
I agree with him. We have a lifeline, but now we have to make the most of it. We need a solid plan to either get back to Brandon, or a new stadium, rather than just limping along at Leicester, with crowds dwinling, and then the plug gets pulled due to a lack of finances.
Save Coventry Speedway, should be attempting to put more pressure on all sides to see what the plan is

Now our future is clear, we can fine-tune the initial fixtures, including removing the 21st July fixture!
If the future is clear, presumably we have a date for returning to Brandon?
Until we're back home, I'd suggest the future is anything but clear

I too am sceptical about the move working, however, it has at least given us a chance.
As I'd said before, the cost of leasing the facilities and track, weighed in with a potentially reduced crowd doesn't make sense if it's only a short term measure. I appreciate that they would be running at a loss if they were to ride away meetings only at the start of the year, but they would then make up for it later in the season, with regular crowds at Brandon.
I personally feel that this news isnt yet cause to celebrate. We need a stated plan/timeline on how we'll get back to Brandon, without that, there could be fans that drift away

If it was only going to be for a few weeks, surely it would make better sense to just ride away meetings at the start of the season, similar to Belle Vue this year.
If Horton has the main lease at Brandon, it amkes sense to run his home meetings there, and then he doesnt have to worry about the cost of sub letting the track at Leicester, and fans potentially not travelling

I agree with SCB.
Why go to the lengths of signing rioders etc. Both sides had the perfect get out at the end of last season.
They could've walked away saying they couldn't agree a deal and that wouldve been that. Something is going on, i just cant work out what it is

Our only hope at the minute is Sandhu taking back the ownership of the speedway team, the lease and running it all himself.

I think Brandon Estates employ a 'spokesman' to talk to the media. The paper is very good at investigating things, they've found some interesting stuff about CCFC owners Sisu and what they are doing. I have asked them to have a look but don't know if they are. Its difficult to find out about directors and shareholders when the company is based in Jersey. Some say that's convenient.
You don't actually believe that do you? It's an awful paper in all honesty. Their speedway coverage is only so good because of Dave Rowe
-
The rumble carries on.
And some said Sandhu was the saviour of the bees.
Very crass comment, especially from someone who was so critical of Shovlar a few pages back. In my eyes this is a bigger piece of trolling than anything he said

Honestly didn't see this coming! Fantastic news, although i'm still wary of any unforeseen holdups

I really don't understand the doom and gloom over this team.
Comparing it to an "Elite League" team, it doesnt look great, but we aren't in that world any more. In Bates/Sarjeant and Kerr we should have the best two reserves in the league all season, and looking at what other reserves are likely to be signed, they should clean up, and then be full of confidence if/when they move into the main body of the team.
I'm quite optimistic for this teams chances.... as long as the stadium issue is sorted

King
K Bjerre
Schlein
L Bjerre
Bates
Would leave us with 13.29 (if I've done my sums right). for the last two.
Would you gamble on a big hitter (JK/Fricke) and a lesser reerve or settle for two 6.5 riders, ensuring we'd probably have the best pair of reserves all season, and hope that King, Kenny and Rory/Lasse can perform as heatleaders all season?

I'd happily take Bjerre in this new format... and i'd have his brother on a 6 point average too

Surely with the two Brit rule, Ellis should get fixed up somewhere
-
Surprised the Bees got a point but a good win for the Lions - well done.
So if the bees got closer than you expected, surely its not a good win?

Clearly I haven't failed to see that. You couldn't have signed Stead for either of the reserves at the start of the season. Garrity at reserve with Stead in place of Garrity obviously would have strengthened you up. My point remains your issue was 2 of your 3 heat leaders.
why haven't the Bees added Stead now if it's that simple to strengthen up?
Because signing another double upper would mean he that King or Garrity.. In the scenario with Garrity at reserve in a Fast Track birth we couldve had another double-upper in the main body of the team... Someone such as Simon Stead
-
KK at 1 is dodgy for any club in any season.
Harris no issue.
King as H/l is an issue.
Woryna is a weak signing compared with the amount of points you had spare.
Assuming you couldn't find a suitable rider with the points spare and signed Woryna instead you suddenly assume there is another suitable rider to fill the place of Garrity. Hahahaha.
PK was never an option as he has already said in press he wouldn't ride for anyone but Wolves .
So given how easy you're suggestion when are you making this season changing move then??
Hahahahaha
With Garrity at reserve, we could've signed another double upper i.e Stead as SCB suggested. Stead in for Bates or Sarjeant strengthens us up considerably. If you fail to see that then there is no hope.
You are right that King as heat leader is an issue however. Signing any heat leader as a double upper considerably hampered our options for the final rider, which is why we ended up with Woryna

Woryna has looked pretty good tonight - better than his points suggest IMHO
He has done all season. As a 4 pointer, i have no qualms with his performances... it's just that we had 2 extra points to play with when we signed him

Absolute shambles in heat 12, and yet Havelock was just chatting away in the pits. Shocking

Its £12 for the storm. So you get 2 meetings for £11 each. Pretty decent value

Can't believe people are knocking this offer.
I'm a big critic when it comes to the promotion and management, but hats off to them for this

This is what CCFC did. They gave out vouchers to the schools, which had to be filled in with contact details to claim the free ticket.
This ends up with more records in the "supporter database" so more promotion/marketing can be directed at a bigger audience.
Simply having a free for all in terms of attendance will only work for one week (and that's only if you get the additional benefit of extra spending e.g food/merchandise)
